Plugged into my phone, had to download a special app that seemed dicey, and then the cam was intermittent. Returned immediately. I take the time to review purchases because I know that I rely on them myself and I like to try to help others make informed decisions. I'd say this endoscope is pretty good, but not great
by Matt L. (4 out of 5 stars)

I'd say this endoscope is pretty good, but not great. Pros, it works. I have successfully used this and a claw grabber tool to pull a bunch of stuff out of my home theater subwoofer that my kids threw into... via the subwoofer port. Cons, the LED lights at the end are bright, but they don't throw the light very far. If you are trying to few anything further than twelve inches in a very dark area (inside of a wall, etc) there won't be enough light to properly see. You can solve this problem by using a secondary light, but that defeats the purpose if you are trying to inspect the inside of a wall in a minimally invasive manner (drilling a small hole in the wall just big enough for the endoscope).

The app works great, I was able to record footage from my subwoofer escapade. I had zero connectivity issues with my Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

This works for what it is and is a decent value, but it is not a professional endoscope, but it has proven useful for my needs.

For the price as a mechanic I couldn't be happier.

Well Ill first start by saying I'm a Master Tech. Secondly you really can't go wrong with this bore scope. Everyone in the shop that seen me use it and seen the video and pictures wanted one. You download an app on your phone or tablet. As soon as you plug the camera up the app automatically opens and boom there's your $400 snap on bore scope. Picture quality is nominal but for the price it's what it's supposed to be. The only issue I have is the LEDs are a blueish color which through dark tonno light picture off somewhat. I use it almost everyday. I would recommend this to anyone.

Great bang for the buck.

For the very affordable price and very small size of this endoscope, it impressed me. I use it for looking into engines and gun barrels. I can see what I need to see with reasonable detail when it's hooked up to my tablet or phone. It's not going to be Discovery Channel HD but it's definitely not blurry at all. The only reason for not getting 5 stars is the lens cap wasn't completely tightened when I received it. I just twisted it tight but that leads me to believe there isn't much quality control going on and the waterproofing may be less than par.

I looked at the top of the pistons in my cars, looked inside my ear, examined the inside of my nostrils and used it to peek inside the garbage disposal in the kitchen sink.

Did I do it all in that order? Maybe, maybe not.

Updated Review - Works well, good light, good picture

Updated Review - first one didn't work, returned it, BlueFire actually contacted me and sent a new one out. I used it on the CPU and it works well (I like the bigger screen on the computer). I like the USB adapter it comes with better than the other brands that have the goofy flip USB thing.

Good Camera for the Price
by D.L. (4 out of 5 stars)

This little camera did what I needed. I needed to check inside a wall in my house. I removed a cover from my electrical outlet, and there was a large enough gap that I could get the camera in there and have a good look around. I was able to get a good view (with a bit of twisting and turning). I knocked off one star due to the poor user interface. It kept timing out, which forced me to shut it down and restart every few minutes. But, for what I paid, this little camera did the job.

After trying to get the camera to work with 2 android phones with no success I decided to try and put it in my laptop otherwise I was going to send it back. Found the software clumsy, then had to find the setup exe. by opening everything on the disc. After all the setup and playing around the camera does work well. My main goal was to use on a phone with some of the apps but will not work that why the low score.

Used this a ton already!

I have had a few of these that only work with laptops due to the current draw. This is sooo much more handy!

if you are expecting to be instantly proficient with moving it around, you most likely wont be....it takes some practice.

This has saved me a few headaches already, I will probably buy another just to have it.

Unbeatable for $16 !!!

like my laptop
by Ray Succre (5 out of 5 stars)

It works as advertised, though be careful to make sure you have a phone that supports OTG. Mine, despite being very new, did not, so I've been using my endoscope with other devices, like my laptop. It doesn't come with a case, I should add, but that's not much of a problem. It focuses at about the 2-inch mark, is small enough to fit inside a Pilot G2 gel pen, and works nicely with controlled dimming switch, to boot. For the price, it's great. I use it in pest control to see within walls, pipes, and other places and it's been excellent for that purpose. I haven't had the guts to submerge it in water yet, so haven't tested that out. It's easy to lose orientation when using an endoscope, so I painted a slim red line on the top of mine so I can always orient it.
