Poor Quality Control

1.The package arrived with a mashed corner on the box holding the lamp.
2.Charged for 8 hours as indicated, led light never displayed 'green' after the 8 hours.
3.Opened the book, light came on, opened to 360 and then closed, light did not go off. Opened. Closed. Opened. Closed. Light did not go off.
4.Left the 'book' open to drain the charge so I could return, the "8 hours of light with each charge" turned out to be about 2 hours to drain.

This was a birthday gift and since I bought it more than a month before the day, it was "too late to return". I loved the idea of what this product could be, but the quality is so poor that I'm afraid to have it exchanged.
