Works great to retain a brick garden path
by Tryka (5 out of 5 stars)

After watering the lawn deeply, I set-in the Landshark edging (with relative ease) in a bricked garden walkway. Afterwards I added sand to the bricks. This product works great for keeping the brick and sand in place! I liked it so much I ordered 40 more feet. Suggestion: as this is very stiff plastic and comes tightly wound, install the edging in the opposite direction of its natural curl and pound and pull into place as you go. It may take a little more effort but the tension helps keep this edging upright and not as wavey.

worked for me

This worked great for my needs. I have a small flower bed by my walk to the house. The rain kept washing the mulch onto the walk. I wanted something unobtrusive to keep the mulch in place. This works very well. It was very easy to install. I am a rather old female so that was important!

NOT Pound in Edging, Lifts Out of Ground After Installation
by Melissa S (2 out of 5 stars)
August 21, 2017

The product arrived quickly. I was excited to save time by not having to dig a trench since the description on line states no digging was required, they are a pound in edging. No they are not! The package insert clearly notes that a trench must be dug. Also, it only comes with two anchors. If it was a true pound in edging the anchors would probably not be needed but since this isn't, more anchors are needed. So I followed the directions and within 15 minutes, it was starting to lift out of the ground. So I went to find more anchors and put them in. The short sections where I did not put anchors are still lifting out of the ground. I am not impressed at all with this product. It does not do what it is supposed to do. Now I understand why it was so cheap.

Don't waste your money - zero stars!

Don't buy this because the name is misleading. You have to dig a 2" trench and then hammer down, the problem, it doesn't stay firm and becomes wavy as you put in ground. Then the instructions state to fill in the trench you've created. Not "pound-in". Once you've got it in the ground it will shift and parts will shift higher.

Easy to install if...
by HHISC (4 out of 5 stars)

I found this easy to install but I used an edger to cut a trench before I set it in the ground. It was easy to create curves and straight sections using the edger and since I went about 1.5 inches deep, I was able to identify any rocks/roots before I started pounding.

Be careful if you lay this out in the sun to uncurl, it was 95 degrees here and the rubber got so hot that it turned the grass brown. After that first mistake I laid them out on the mulch. It can be hard to keep it perfectly straight on uneven ground but the only way to avoid that is to use something like Col-Met metal edging.

A little frustrating using this vendor since they limit the quantities but the price and quality was good. I would buy more from them if I could.

Happy with the product, ordering more

If you install this as directed it works great. We wanted a barrier between our lawn and a rock wall in front of a garden berm. We dug a trench, lined that with black weed barrier and filled with pea gravel. This notched plastic edging worked great. We laid it out in the sun briefly, it stretched out flat. We also made a string line to follow a straight line. Easy to install. Again. follow directions as would be the same with any barrier. Ordering more as we speak.

Good product: follow the instructions & you'll be very happy with the results

I used this in my backyard garden. It's sturdy, unobtrusive, and easy to install (IF you read/follow the directions!).

Waves seem to be a recurring issue in the reviews. It is a little wavy at installation. Unrolling the strips a day or two before installation helps reduce that. I'm in Houston and we have some very tough clay. The clay held this in place better (read: fewer waves) than my improved soil but either way, it worked out fine as the waviness became less noticeable after a few days.

I liked this product enough to buy three more. It's a simple but good, well-priced border.

I don't write reviews often and was skeptical that this wasn't junk but it is very sturdy and took my pounding with a rubber mallet without damaging it at all. Very good. Just ordered two more rolls.

This stuff is extremely tough and is very easy to install

This stuff is extremely tough and is very easy to install. I'm so glad I found it while searching! i laid out in my yard in the sun thinking it might be easier to install. I won't do that again! Its easier to install while its cool and hard. I bought this to help keep my mulch in my flower bed in the rain and its definitely going to do that well!

Not an easy install, but it is an effective edging
by beth (4 out of 5 stars)

Having used a variety of landscaping borders/edging over the years, I can say that this particular edging was a harder installation than I anticipated. However, in the end, the edging is effectively holding back my rocks and preventing erosion. All in all, the product provides the appropriate results, but installation can be taxing and requires a lot of bending.

On my first installation attempt, I saturated the ground with water, as the instructions recommended, to aid the spikes' delivery into the dirt. Although my Floridian ground is fairly soft, my rubber mallet was not able to effectively push Dimex's Landshark Pound-in edging into the ground. On my second attempt, I used a shovel to create a two-inch deep trench around my garden bed. Next, I used water to re-saturate the area. Then, I used the mallet to install Dimex's edging. This time... it worked. However, my job was far from over. To make sure the edging remained straight and secure, I used a bag of top soil. Where needed, I would insert handfuls of dirt to make sure the edging was vertical and not leaning. To keep the edging upright, I found extra dirt more helpful than extra plastic Dimex anchors. Please note that to insure the edging stayed in place, I had to pound more than half of the plastic edging underground. As such, only an inch to 1.5 inches was above the ground surface. This was fine for my needs. I think a lower edging is more aesthetically pleasing. I want my rocks or mulch to standout and be noticed - not my edging.

As for customers' complaints of straight edging becoming curvy, I think that is tough to avoid. I recommend using the mallet to pack the dirt tightly against the edging - this helps to keep the edging upright.
