Bought this for my iced coffee loving wife. It worked great for about two weeks then, without warning, it cracked while being filled with coffee and all of the water between the layers drained out all over the counter. Very disappointed. I read other reviews that had this same problem, but just figured they got a defective one or it had been dropped at some point. Ours was filled to the line with water as directed by the manufacturers instructions and has never been dropped. It just failed. I would not recommend this product until the manufacturer can assure this issue has been resolved.

Needs Work!

LATEST UPDATE: After receiving the replacement, I used it for all of 4-5 weeks before it cracked in the exact same position. When I contacted the company, they explained that it was happening in about 1% of units sold from that batch. However, the number of people that seem to have the same issue would indicate otherwise. They explained that they could send a new one, but that it would be coming from the same batch. I'd love to be able to make iced coffee on the spot, but this isn't the product I'd hoped it would be.

UPDATE: After I scheduled a return, the company actually reached out to me to refund my account before Amazon did. They explained that there was a small percentage of HyperChillers that came from the factory with issues. They had a new one sent and it's been working wonderfully! FANTASTIC customer service and an AWESOME product!!

UPDATE: I've had the HyperChiller for 9 days and it busted in the freezer! I'm hoping that the next one doesn't do it, as I've started the return on this one and have purchased a new one.

Between the simplicity of the product and how effective it is, it's worth every penny! It cools our coffee down to a perfect temperature to pour over ice and NEVER melts the ice! It's easy to assemble, easy to clean, and a breeze to use! Love it!!

Already had one for myself and bought a second for a friend. I'm thinking of buying a third for the office! I have a cold brew set to make concentrate which is nice but takes 24+ hours. Sometimes I forget/run out/am lazy and you can literally brew hot coffee into this thing and have ice cold coffee about 2 minutes later. From hot brewed to so cold in less than two minutes that the coffee doesn't even melt ice in the glass. Highly recommend if you're an iced coffee addict like me!

Great product for a daily iced coffee drinker!

I am an avid (i.e. daily) iced coffee drinker, but I have been extremely hesitant to make my own iced coffee at home because I didn't want the bitter flavor from two-day old coffee or the watered-down nature of just adding ice to coffee. Thanks to the HyperChiller, I have now found a solution!!! The HyperChilller worked like a CHARM today!!! I was able to create my own iced coffee directly from my coffee maker in the comfort of my own home. I guarantee this item will be used frequently! Great job!

Hyped into buying it?

If you were hyped into buying this like me, well perhaps you were let down like me as well.

First, when pouring hot coffee into it fresh out of the drip, I wouldn't say it exactly chills it. It more like brings it up to room temperature. You still have to pour it on ice which will melt and you get the dreaded dilution.

Second, when emptying it out the ice that chilled my coffee certainly melted, and also started coming out of the 4 breathe holes on top. So two problems here: 1, I get that melted ice water poured into my glass and 2, you have to keep topping off the two internal water chambers before putting back in the freezer.

I'm just not impressed with the design. It just sits in the bottom of my freezer without being used now. It's too much effort for what it does, and doesn't do well.

***UPDATE***. Do not waste your $! I got one and loved it for 2-3 months. Well outer shell snapped open and leaks water everywhere when it's defrosting or being used. So I emailed seller. They were kind enough to quickly replace. Well it happened again with my first use of the new one. So just save your money and find another option.

Here's the answer to no longer having watered down ice coffee!!! Love this device!

I originally purchased the first version, fell in love, but ended up having something happen with the threading. Customer service immediately took care of me!! I love a company that stands by their product. So when I found out about version 2, I grabbed it. It has a slightly deeper pouring well, and the threading feels sturdier. I cannot stand watered down iced coffee, and cold brew never seems to taste strong enough. I use a French press and the HyperChiller every morning, perfect cup of iced coffee!!!

I wish I could give it 4.75 stars instead of five because it works more slowly than I want; I want it to be magical and it isn't - but it is functional. It does work well and I use it every day.

I love iced coffee. I am just not a fan of the flavor of cold-brew coffee and have a (now confirmed) theory that coffee flavor changes over time, with fresh coffee having a best flavor.

I make two aeropresses of coffee every morning and swirl each (separately) in the hyperchiller for around two minutes before putting them in my travel cup with ice. Wonderful iced coffee for my trip to work. With iced coffee I can taste the regional differences in coffee beans and subtle notes of flavor that, at least to me, disappear when served hot. My morning cup is way more than a caffeine source, it is a source of pleasure, with the hyperchiller, even moreso.

What I like: It works.

What I dislike: It takes up room in my freezer. It takes time to chill the device before it is ready and cannot be quickly recharged for many back-to-back uses (if I have guests)

It does exactly what it says. It has clear instructions of how to fill the compartments to what level to prevent spilling, you just keep it in the freezer and anytime you need any drink cooled quickly without dilution, this does the job.

For those not fully familiar with how it works, what it's accomplishing is trying to surround your liquid with as much ice-behind-metal as possible. So, it has a center chamber of ice behind the metal, then and outer chamber of ice. The inner chamber fits inside the outer with about a cup's worth of space that's between the inner and outer chamber. This exposes your liquid to the greatest surface area of super-cold metal that they can, and since your liquid is only touching metal, and not the ice itself, it doesn't matter the temperature of the liquid poured in. You can pour in boiling water and while it may end up melting a bunch of the ice behind the metal, none of that water will mix with your drink. So, whether you're chilling a wine, dropping hot coffee to cool it off, or just wanting to rapidly drop the temp of that fresh lemonade you made without making it watery, this will get that done.

Cracked on side day after return window closed!

Side split open. Is useless now and did it the day after return window closed. Loved the product till this happened.

Update: Customer service was great they sent a new one after the first one cracked...... Then again a few months later... the new one cracked in the same place as the previous one. No other use other than once a day to cool coffee.. It works great until splits down the side.
