I normally don't post reviews, but this Bath Bomb Making Kit was way too fun! We just received this as a Christmas gift and are absolutely delighted with it. My 8 year old sister and I just spent our afternoon making bath bombs together, and my college-aged brother even offered a hand.

We had our sister carry out most of the measuring and the mixing, which was plenty of fun for her since she already enjoys helping out in the kitchen. Most of the ingredients are basically already measured, or come with a little extra, but she still poured them out in the measuring cup/ tablespoon. This was nice for us- the adults- because we don't have to worry about wasting ingredients should a pouring accident occur. It was also nice for my sister because it allowed us to provide her with a little more independence with the preparation than we normally would have given her.

I also really appreciated the fact that this kit comes with a variety of different essential oils. For those of us, like my family, who are rather inexperienced with essential oils, we definitely loved being given the option to decide what to add to our bath bombs- and even more important, to decide what we may smell like after using it, haha. Additionally, the variety was great enough that both my brother and my sister were able to select different scents that they liked, and thus this kit and its end product are great for recipients of any gender. Definitely a plus in my book!

We experienced a little difficulty with trying to get the essential oils to drip out of its' containers, but removing the plastic covering and pouring the oil out worked just fine. And the instructions themselves are clear enough to follow, despite a few tiny typos. The quality of the instruction card was surprisingly really good too! (I'm so used to receiving a flimsy piece of paper- which is why I was so surprised by it.) I do have to say, however, that the presentation of the kit as a whole was just a lovely cherry on top of the whole experience. I can tell that there was a lot of careful thought put into each individual piece and that the kits were assembled with care, so THANK YOU!

A couple of helpful tips we discovered along the way: We used coconut oil- since the oil was solid in the jar, we scooped some out and stirred it in a Corelle cup that was preheated just a bit. This melted the oil without cooking it and was perfect to stir into the mixture. I recommend to add a bit of pressure with the pads of your fingers to compact the mixture in the tin bowls. (I found that this helps to prevent crumbles). Also, to obtain that round dome shape that we did, tap on the tin surface a few times with your finger with the bath bomb side face down. This should free the tin from the bath bomb and should easily lift off! The instruction card also gives a few recommendations for natural colorants. Inspired by these suggestions, my sister and I created some of our own. Though they may not be as vibrant as what would have resulted had we followed the recommendations, we both liked our end results; it's DIY after all, is it not? :) There's a few pictures below if you're interested!

White: Eucalyptus oil + crushed Tangerine leaves

Pink: Lime oil + crushed Flower petals

Green: Peppermint oil + grated Pumpkin rind

Orange: Grapefruit oil + grated Tangerine skin

Hope you have as much fun as we did!

Cute idea, poorly executed

Cute kit with directions. Would be cheaper to buy own ingredients but is a nice gift. EO's don't come in package which is a real bummer. They make you review the product and send in for them. So now we have to wait for those to come in. Cute gift idea though.

Fun, fairly easy DIY bath bomb

My 11-year-old niece really wanted to make bath bombs and after looking up DIY recipes, we decided on a kit. We priced out all of the supplies if we were to purchase them individually and it just made more sense to buy this kit. It had great reviews, so we thought we'd give it a try. She loved it! The only other thing we needed was a type of oil, we used coconut oil. We split up the batch and added our own food coloring based on the scent we chose. The food coloring did not leave a stain in the tub. The essential oils provided have a great scent and it was so fun to create these cupcake-like bath bombs. It was fairly easy once I reminded my niece that what was included in the kit was not the exact measurements. She made the mistake of pouring in all of the cornstarch and epsom salt without measuring it out, so we had to add extra water to get them to "stick." Lesson learned for the future! I would recommend!

Instructions were easy to follow

Got this product for my daughter who loves making & creating things. It came with everything you need to make more than 12 bath bombs.

Instructions were easy to follow, but only problem we had was getting it to the right consistency & amount to fill in each half of the bomb mold so it would stick together & form a ball without separating.

We added food coloring & scented oil to creat different bath bombs...

You have to buy ADDITIONAL items to make this kit work

This kit looked like it would be really cool, but it didn't say you needed to buy additional items to make this work. I would have either bought a different kit that had all the items or bought the items. It's embarrassing when you give a gift and then you have to go buy additional items to make the gift work after you read the directions!

Best Fun!

We really had fun with the kit. I read all the reviews, and maybe forgot, but it does require coconut oil or something similar. Just by a fluke, I had the oil, but normally I do not. It needs a statement like ' just add coconut oil!' ... maybe there is a statement, but I missed it. Other than the surprise of not having an ingredient in the kit, we were impressed and loved the product. There were three of us involved and the process was quite easy and we all enjoyed it. We actually made 18 bath bombs, 12 larger ones and 6 medium ones. I would definitely buy this again for myself or as a gift. The presentation is wonderful and the suggestion of adding flowers, etc. was great...we added lavender and another little red leafed flower - the finished bombs were also wonderful, colorful and made such a pretty picture.

They were so much fun to make

While this kit sends pre measured ingredients I measured out exactly what was needed for the "recipe" and still ended up with leftover ingredients and more than 12 formed bath bombs. They were so much fun to make. They hold up really well. I made the bath bombs for my husband for fathers day and he was please by how long they lasted in the tub. I'm hooked on making bath bombs!!! Directions were easy to follow and oils provided were a great variety.

After doing some research this kit seemed to be the best kit for the price. It has everything you need to get started and will be so much fun making with my kids during the summer! We have typically always purchased bath bombs from the store but it will be so much more magickal making our own! Shipping was very fast, everything well packaged and smells divine.

Not as easy as we thought.

It's not as easy as describe to make them. We needed to use a lot more water and coconut oil (not included) to get a mold-able mixture and than we have to wait 2 days to let it dry. Kids want instant gratification. Our box didn't have the scented oils. The positive thing is that I spent some quality time with my 8 year old daughter... making messes is not always a bad thing.

This is a great kit with all the materials needed for making your bath bombs. I got it for my 12 year old, but am having just as much fun using it myself! It also includes suggestions for mastering the process. We used our own food coloring to color the bath bombs, but the directions also give suggestions for natural ways (not included) to color the bath bombs. There are many different scents to use. There are cupcake wrappers included for each bath bomb, and 1 toile gift sack. FYI: Bath bombs need a few days to "dry" so you have to wait to use it. This is an easy and fun activity!
