Great company. Stands by its products
by RabbiEli (5 out of 5 stars)

Worked great for 6 months. Broke. Am stuck with several packs of overly expensive salt pods.

UPDATE. Within hours of posting this, review, I received a call from the company asking to do some trouble shooting. After agreeing something was wrong, they immediately shipped me out a new one and some replacement salt pods. I wish every company worked like this.

Navage Hack - Use your own Salt & Xylitol Solution for better results!
by Dickie Dunkin (5 out of 5 stars)
November 14, 2018

This is the best device I've ever found for rinsing your sinuses! It Works Great!

I've tried all of the following. They all work and I would recommend all of them. Rinsing once or twice a day is a must for sinus suffers!
♦ Neti Pot (good for beginners)
♦ Neilmed rinse bottle (great for traveling)
♦ A modified WaterPik set to lowest pressure
♦ Ear syringe
♦ Grossan Hydro Pulse (Highly Recommended)

HOWEVER: The Naväge is the only one that sucks up it's own mess! This has the added benefit that you can easily inspect the backwash for signs of a sinus infection. With all of the other methods I would have water dripping out of my nose for hours after rinsing. Embarrassing!

Now for the Hack:
1. Take one of the salt pods and cut the plastic bowl off, leaving just the ring. Remove all aluminum foil. Leave the

ring in the Naväge, clean when needed.
2. Note location of the "Magic Button" (image #1)
3. Fill the Naväge to the fill line with your favorite nasal rinse solution.
4. As you're closing the lid (image #2) press up on the magic button until it clicks up into place.
5. Enjoy!

MAKE YOUR OWN XYLITOL/SALINE SOLUTION:
1. 8 oz. Glaceau smartwater (vapor distilled)
2. (1) Packet Xlear sinus rinse. The ingredients are on the box, you can do a little math and extrapolate to make your

own dry mix in bulk.
3. Be sure the mix is completely dissolved. Chunks of crystals may damage the Naväge pump.
4. Warm gently in hot water or microwave. CHECK TEMPERATURE BEFORE USE.

Xylitol has been clinically proven to reduce the number of sinus infections in persons who chew gum sweetened with Xylitol. My personal opinion is that a Xylitol/Salt/Baking Soda is twice as effective as just a plain Saline/Baking Soda solution.

Other "hacks" found online recommend disassembly or drilling holes into your Naväge. Try my hack first! Also be sure to clean the Naväge after each use. This means opening and cleaning the top each time. Don't modify your Naväge so that you never have to open the top for cleaning!

Thanks, and I hope this works as well for you as it has for me!

A SECRET ALL NAVAGE USERS NEED TO KNOW!!!!!
by Joe Lassiter (5 out of 5 stars)
November 18, 2017

THIS A BIG MONEY SAVER!!!! During my very first use of this fantastic nose cleaner I immediately discovered how to avoid EVER PURCHASING SALTPODS AGAIN. SO SIIMPLE!!!!!!!

I have been a user of USA MADE, Dr prescribed, water based NEILMED SINUS RINSE, which has the same saline properties of SALPODS for years due to cancer of the nose. It's been a life saver for me.

Upon installing my first SaltPod in the NAVAGE I noticed I could refill the upper saline chamber WITHOUT REMOVING the SALTPOD!!!!!!

HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE YOU ASK!!

Where the SalPod is inserted in the upper chamber of the NAVAGE there is ample room left to slowly pour NeilMed Sinus Rinse along side of it permitting the NeiMed Sinus Rinse to slowly seep in and fill the UPPER CHAMBER to the fill line.

Todate, I have used a total of ONE SALTPODS.

For comfort during cleaning the nose, warm water is recommend and I simply Microwave the NeilMed Sinus Rinse in the bottle it comes in for 20 seconds.

I NEVER remove the SALPOD KNOWING IF I DO IT WILL BE NECESSARY TO INSTALL A NEW ONE.

I highly recommend the lower chamber of the NAVAGE IS CLEANED AFTER EACH USE.

BRILLIANT!!!!!!!

Things you should know
by Emily (5 out of 5 stars)
April 14, 2016

I was definitely skeptical about buying this product, but as someone that has allergies, I had to try it. I was also happy to see it on my doorstep 2 days earlier than it was supposed to be delivered. I immediately opened the box, quickly looked through the instructions and began using it. As someone who has never once used a netipot or anything similar, I was nervous. Luckily, it is fairly easy to use! About a week after using it once a day I started having some issues where the suction was no longer working properly and the entire machine wasn't working. I did not take any stars off of my review for this because I called Navage customer service and they not only sent me a new machine and a label to send back my defective device, they paid for everything involved with the exchange(new machine and shipping both ways). As I am not someone who uses this every morning and night, this was not a problem for me.

Things you need to know:
1. MUST use distilled or sterile water with this device(This is not something only with Navage, this is something due to the fact you are putting that water in your nose and tap water can have bacteria which can cause an infection if it gets stuck in your nose.)
2. In order for the water to not go down the back of your throat you must create the "closed system" as Navage calls it. When you put it in your nose, push it kind of hard to your face.(You will know you are pushing hard enough if you talk and your voice sounds funny.) Then push the button in halfway for the suction(but not the water) to begin. This will create sort of a vacuum in your nose. Once this vacuum is created, the device will start to make a slightly different pitched sound. This means you are ready to start the water. The vacuum is slightly uncomfortable, but once you start the water the discomfort goes away.
3. If you do not wait for the sound of the device to change, the salt water WILL go down your throat. That is when panic begins because it kind of feels like you are drowning.
4. The water should flow through quickly unless you are very congested. If it doesn't you are doing something wrong.
5. Be sure not to open the crusher before you use the device. For some reason if you load the SaltPod and then open the crusher before the water has flowed through, the device will not run and you will have to start over and use a completely different SaltPod. Trust me, it crushed it.
6. Be sure to rinse the few areas described in the instructions before and after each use. The salt drying on certain parts can ruin the machine.

A little more elegant, a lot more expensive
by oatmeal (3 out of 5 stars)

Navage is an Apple-like attempt to completely control the end-to-end user experience - only instead of smartphones or computers, it's about clearing your nasal passage.

This has the advantage of making the entire setup elegant, simple and streamlined. If you find neti pots and similar products "gross," Navage gets as close as you can get to concealing the messy parts. The nearest you get to "icky" is emptying the lower tank, which may include a few lovely "friends" suctioned out of your schnoz.

It's also travel-friendly. I haven't taken it on a trip yet, but that's the main reason I'm considering keeping the Navage. With the travel bag, this looks like a simple and self-contained way to keep my nose clean on the road.

On the other hand, you're paying more than products that do a better job. I've been using SinuPulse for several years, and its method of pushing water (in higher quantities, given its bigger tank) seems to do a more thorough job of clearing up my sinuses.

The real kicker, though, is Navage's proprietary "salt pods." With neti pots and the SinuPulse, you can mix your own powder (half salt, half baking soda) for dirt-cheap refills. Navage's business model appears to be built on making sure you can't do that. The cost difference over time is going to be staggering.

This company also doesn't win any trust awards when its instructions include laughably insincere descriptions of their motives: claiming that the reason the device will only power on when a saltpod is inserted is to protect the user from using the device with nonsalinated water. Please - if that were the priority, all they'd need to do is explicitly state that in the instructions. Logic dictates they did this to force the user to keep buying their own expensive refill pods. I'd have respected them more if they'd just admitted that.

I only recommend paying for this system if you want a great travel solution or need the gross factor to be pushed away as much as possible. For anyone else, the SinuPulse a) does a better job, b) costs less upfront and c) costs MUCH less over time.

It is worth the investment.

Best device I have ever invested in. Took very little time for me to get used to its application. Frequently I get things "lodged" in my nose (particles, dust, pollen,) that results in sneezing fits. This is much more effective then blowing my nose. During this flu season I got "stopped up" but instead of it developing into a sinus infection I was able to irrigate my sinuses and blow all the "crud" out. Don't want to gross anyone out but when I first used this I had "debris" sitting in my nose that had been there for some time. ALL CLEAR. this is a great device.

Love my Navage.
by Doug (5 out of 5 stars)
March 13, 2017

After seeing a few scary YouTube videos I was reluctant to buy a Navage. I suffer greatly from allergies and chronic sinusitis so I was thinking of buying one of these nasal irrigation machines. I've heard good things about it so I went ahead and bought a Navage. I've got to say that there are some people out there that make things that are easy seem hard but when I received my Navage I got the hang of it right from the start and actually enjoyed the whole experience. You just got to relaxe and remember to keep separate your nose breathing and your mouth breathing then breath just through your mouth and let the machine do it's thing. So I got to say I truthfully love my Navage and now can breath better taste better smell better also sleep better just to mention some of the benefits because there is many more. So thanks for a great product Navage and anyone thinking of buying one buy it.

Great product- happy to lose my standard saline rinses
by Natasha Kormanik (5 out of 5 stars)
April 10, 2016

I love this product. I have been saline rinsing for about 6 years. I have issues draining all the fluid and the saline would randomly leak out throughout the day. I saw a commercial about this product and after doing some research, I made the purchase. It did take some time to adjust to how it felt... It's a different breathing technique than normal rinses.

Pro: suction works well and pulls all the saline (no random noise leakage); unlike normal saline rinses, it doesn't shoot water to your ears; easy to use once you figure it out;

Cons: pods are expensive; bulkier than traditional saline rinses; a bit complicated to figure out at first

No more Allergy/Sinus medicine!!!!!
by Anita W. (4 out of 5 stars)
April 20, 2017

This will be my first review ever!!! I have allergies so bad they turn into migraines and the pain, pressure and, drainage lasts for weeks. I have every sinus medication imaginable along with spays and Netti Pots, tucked everywhere because I'm always miserable. My nose runs constantly and going to bed is the worse because I'm always blowing my nose trying to breathe. While on vacation I saw a Navage commercial, I thought it was another way to spend my money, I read the reviews and gave in and bought it. FAST FORWARD 3 WEEKS LATER !!!!

For the first time in 20 years I am not on any allergy/sinus medication. I do not have pressure or pain and have not had a headache since before the Navage came. There is a learning curve, my ears were a little tender at first, I have to sing while using it so I can alleviate the sensation, but who cares? Not me! I use it twice some days, sometimes I don't need it. I will not always pay for the Saline pods, I can make that myself, but again a minor concern. I still blow my nose a couple of times a day, but it is very minor. I no longer have Kleenexes in my pockets just in case. The best part is no headaches and being able to enjoy dogs, grass, and everything else I used to dread.
