A Piece of Crap That Should Be Removed from Amazon's Catalog!
by Simply Me (1 out of 5 stars)

The absolute WORST purchase I've ever made on Amazon. The whole thing fell apart on my first effort and I don't think I was being rough on it. The cheap plastic handle broke and the hinges made it very hard to open and close smoothly. The pans are too thin - I was afraid that the metal and pancake batter would melt together! It also has a terrible chemical smell even after I thoroughly washed it. Needless to say, I just threw the whole mess in the garbage can. The rest of the pancake batter, I used on a normal griddle. They may not be perfect circles, but at least I feel they're safe to eat.

i love pancakes and this pan makes it easy to cook good ones

I love pancakes, and I love this pan. I like pancakes a little extra done without mushy batter on the inside and this pan does a great job. I've been using it weekly or so for about six months probably. I add chocolate chips and strawberries or bananas to pancake batter in the pan (pushing them into it) or the bowl and the chocolate and fruit don't burn. Just spray it with oil before cooking so that pancakes don't stick (I don't respray in between batches). I find that heat setting ~4-4.5 (less than medium) cooks the pancakes well. I use a baking powder/applesauce/water substitution for eggs in pancake recipes and it comes out very well and tastes great on this pan. Cooking eggs on it worked for me too but is more annoying to clean afterwards. Don't put your hand above the thumbrest when you flip it though because it could burn a bit. I also use a spatula to check if the pancakes are done and to assist with removing if any stuck to the topside of the pan. I really like how fast this is and how perfect the pancakes come out (in texture, doneness, and shape) way more than cooking my amorphous, normally-deformed pancakes of varying quality in a regular skillet/pan.

Works great! Just needs one little change...

Bought this for my wife a Christmas or two ago. She has loved it ever since. Once you get the timing down, it turns out the most consistent pancakes she's ever made, and she's been thrilled. The only downside, since I often do cleanup afterwards, lol, is that it's very awkward to clean. Hey manufacturer, make the hinges so the two pieces come apart, would ya??? That would make it MUCH easier to clean. That's the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars. I came looking to see if there was a newer version of it, is how I came to give a review of it just now. It's still working great, I just wish for an easier cleanup, as my wife is cooking pancakes as I type this.

Just don't.

Heavy, poorly constructed and awkward to use - and flip.

And it is not oil-free, though you can certainly use less oil than you do on a normal skillet. You have to have it oil coated for the pancakes to come off easily when you flip it (which is no easy feat on my small stove top). And most times the flipping end in failure. I was starting to think maybe it's just who can't get a handle on using this thing but then I saw others wrestling with it and coming up with even "less perfect" more burnt pancakes.

Just buy a good quality flat skillet and learn how to flip pancakes properly.

WORKS WELL!

I was not sure this would work for me, as I make really healthy low carb pancakes, not the traditional type. I use flax meal, protein powder, cottage cheese, egg replacement etc. and batter is thicker than normal. I preheated it a little, used vegetable spray and filled each one, closed the lid..mine don't get "bubbles", due to being rather thick and funky, so I time them..few minutes on first side, .I then opened the lid to check them out and they looked great..took it off stove to flip the pan as per instructions, they were cooked right so no food spilled out..then cooked for another 2 minutes or so. I was amazed how good they looked and came out easily from pan. When I tried to make these in a saute pan, they were awful..now they look totally pro! Pan cleaned easily as well. Would recommend!

Do not buy this, unless you enjoy wasting your money.

The pan construction is cheap, and even with nonstick spray the pancakes still stuck to it and cooked unevenly.

In fact, they stuck so bad that trying to pull them out with a spatula *just to flip the pan* broke them. The handles also bent at the connection to the pan and started to crack through on one side as if the metal had been repeatedly stressed, but this was the first (and only!) time I used this pan.

So easy and uniform
by Mrs.V (4 out of 5 stars)

Second time buying this pan! I love it! It takes time to get used to using it though. I went back to using a regular pan for frying eggs and pancakes when my last Perfect Pancake Pan handle broke (which I used for at least a year almost daily). I can not flip and egg without it breaking anymore with a regular pan. So I got this same pan again and I love the uniform size of the eggs and pancakes. Eggs are the perfect size for breakfast sandwiches such as bagels and English muffins. Pancakes can also make a homemade Mcgriddle sandwich! The only thing I wish I could do is cook meat on it and flip it over but isn't sealed enough to keep the grease in, so I just flip it with a spatula...

A waste of money.

This product was a waste of money. I used it on an electric stove. The product did not set right on the eye. It is not very sturdy. It seems it will break apart at anytime. The molds are very small. It more like mini pancakes.

No Mess Sausage Patties !
by TroublingTaterTot (4 out of 5 stars)

I tried this for the first time today and got, as the name says, perfect pancakes. I took another reviewer's suggestion and timed it to about 3 minutes per side. It took a bit longer than that because I used a low medium heat, but it served as a nice base. I also took the advice of the instructions and wiped a bit of oil on it before the first pancakes. For the most part the pancakes slipped easily from one side to the other. But in a couple of cases, the pancake stuck, but with a little nudge from a spatula they too turned out perfect. Despite what the packaging says, you will need a spatula (or tongs or something else) to get the pancakes out of the pan. They're hot and the pan, while not "heavy" has some weight to it. and the two sides are a bit awkward. So sliding them from pan to plate takes good coordination or a very large plate.

As I was finishing up the pancakes I realized that I should be able to cook sausage patties with no mess. I didn't flip because of the grease, I flipped the sausage instead to get browning on both sides. Perfect. No mess. I think I'm going to give burgers a try.

The pan itself fits on the eye of a standard stove perfectly. I'm using a gas one. However, the pancakes wells were smaller than I thought. You get a 4 inch pancake. Which I understand is standard unless you're used to the free form ones like me. :-) Great for portion control I guess.

The one thing that saddens me about the product is that it's made in China. (The reason for the reduced rating.) I worry about the combination of non-stick coating from China, heat and food.
