Love this game and adding some tips for new playersby David Crumm (5 out of 5 stars)

There are many reviews for this game already, so I want to concentrate on a few tips based on our experience of giving the gift as a Christmas present and then playing it with friends multiple times.
FIRST: There's a suggestion that all you need to do is watch a short video to learn the rules. The video is fun and we recommend watching it, but the production values were more important than simply explanatory information in this case. We watched the video twice and it didn't equip us to play. So, we did actually have to read the rules. Good news is that the rules are short. This is a quick game to learn. You just won't be able to pick it up from the video alone.
SECOND: We found you really need to play this game around a table where people are in close proximity. We actually started playing at a table that was too long and the rapid communications and handing off of cards wasn't easy. So, find a table where you're sitting close around the playing surface.
THIRD: You'll need to play the game a couple of times to really get the strategy. But that's OK. It's fun and quick. Just expect that you won't get it quite right the first time or two.
FINALLY: If you're ordering the game for yourself or a give, we would recommend you go ahead and add on the expansion pack. You'll likely find yourselves playing the game over and over again-since it's quick and fun-and you'll want the extra cards that come with https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075JR7VBM/?tag=c-t-20
Fast & fun

At first I wasn't sure how the whole dynamic of no turns & everyone yelling gibberish at each other would work, but after playing it several times it's pretty fun. My niece & nephew (ages 8 & 9) always want to play it, they especially like when their mom gets the robot card & can't use her thumbs lol. Even as an adult it is satisfying to yell "COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS ARE GO" & slam your card down on the table. It is nice to have a card game with a little action, also with such a short play time! Many times I want to play a game & then not sure how long it will take or if everyone will understand the rules so we just don't play it, but Spaceteam is fun for everyone!
Loved it!

I have never played the phone version of this game. I went into this blind and was just curious to see how on earth a game could me rated so highly and be marketed a 5 minutes game.
I'm a believer now! Seriously so much fun and quick. Very easy to pick up. We had six people, started on the very easy level and went straight to hard after. That said, we lost 4 out of 5 games so I wouldn't say it's not challenging!
It's focused on teamwork amd awareness. We found it to be a great start to a game night.
Side note- the cards were crazy slippery. They seemed to be made of plastic, and I definitely made a mess when I picked up a deck and the cards shot everywhere. I don't think they'll ever peel though, so durability is a plus. Overall, slippery cards wasn't enough to dock a star.
Really fun game, suitable for adults and kids to play ...

Really fun game, suitable for adults and kids to play together.
The one flaw in the game is that as you work through your stack of malfunction cards, you can usually see whether or not you have a "systems go" card further down the stack. If you see that you don't have a "systems go" card, there really isn't a motivation to keep trying to solve your malfunctions. We now play with the malfunctions cards face down (flipping over the top card as we go) instead of face up, as instructed, and that makes it harder (but not impossible) to see the "systems go" cards in the deck.
my gaming group loves it, my friend's wife hates it

If you've played the mobile game then you know what to expect. Fast and frantic gameplay with tons of yelling nonsense words. This is a GREAT party game for small groups if you don't mind the noise. DO NOT, however attempt to play this late at night when your friends' spouses and/or children are sleeping. You WILL be kicked out.
Fun.

This is a fun little game. We played with 4 players and after a few tries we were able to consistently beat it using all the cards in 5 minutes. We started using the website 3 minute timer which made it harder. It's a fun party type game that will keep the energy up in the room at least. Fast play, funny words, interesting anomalies. I liked it. It won't be your favorite game but it'll be fun to pull out every so often when you have people over.
Fun and Active Card Game

My family enjoyed playing this game. Games last five minutes, but there is a lot of replay value. This is definitely not a quiet game, as you and your team are shouting at each other to try to accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously. There is also a bit of moving around, so it can get your heart rate up a little bit. The learning curve is very small, and I think it would work well with children as young as 5 or 6, though it is still quite fun with adults. There is no board, but a table is necessary for playing. Great game for parties, ice breaker events, or team building.

We picked up several new games this holiday season. We really enjoy playing several quick rounds of this games before sitting down to play something that takes more time. We like that with an expansion pack it can work for a pretty large group, and even without the expansion up to 6 people can play. This is definitely more fun with more people. To play the game you have to be able to tolerate a fair amount of yelling and moving around, as everyone is talking at the same time saying things like "I need the capacitor"," who has the trash can looking thingy", and so on, as well as occasionally having to switch positions. So would avoid this for people who are very sensitive to noise and chaos. That being said, it takes about 5 minutes to play and usually everyone ends up laughing. I would buy this game again and have recommended it to friends.
This was fun to play as a group

This was fun to play as a group. It can be tricky figuring out what's going on with everyone shouting around, but that's part of the fun. What was a bit frustrating was getting stuck for most of the game on one card because whoever had the card you needed wasn't paying attention to your constant requests for it, so you frequently found yourself having to directly ask each person in turn for that specific card. We also ended up with a few games where almost every spaceship piece was in one person's stack, but that at least could be due to poor shuffling. I did like the instructional video one could watch in lieu of just reading the instructions, as it was well put together, and funny. Overall a fun game, that could probably do with some improvements in the playstyle (or more attentiveness in the play group).
Fun for all ages!

Played this game with 6 over 30 adults and it was a blast! There was just something so great about constantly yelling at each other for crazy items and laughing hysterically when the person who had the item continued to deny having it. We got the regular expansion and the NSFW expansion and are ready to try the crazy out with 8+ people. Honestly, the best part was any time someone got the floating into space anomaly card, and seeing just how well they could act it out.
Definitely recommend this game for adults and children alike (just don't get the NSFW expansion). Just be careful if you have any pets who are sensitive to noise. We played around some high anxiety dogs who flipped out at the chaos of this game. Although, that was pretty funny too!
