Waste of money

Bought two for Christmas since they were such a good price. Just had the kids open them before we go out of town and one motor didn't work right out of the box and I am past the return time.

It is the worst drone I have ever seen PERIOD !
by Tom Para (1 out of 5 stars)

Does not fly. Period.

I build drones. Who ever designed the electronic circuit board failed.

Its totally nuts. The throttle is actually controlled by a onboard barometer.

When you push the throttle lever up the motors go full power. The barometer/altimeter

Is suppose to sense the rise and automatically back the throttles resulting in a nice hover.

Problem is the barometer simply doesn't work.

Its not sensitive enough.

Couple that with the fact that the propellers are out of balance and are drilled off center.

This causes mass vibrations.

Just to add insult to injury the props are glued on and cannot be balanced or replaced.

I could go on but this thing is a total train wreck.

What a piece of JUNK!!!!!!

I have the original smaller Millennium Quadcopter and that one has been a lot of fun. When I saw that this one was coming out, I had some extra gift cards and thought why not? It's a bigger version so it should be cool right? Nope.

Anyone considering picking up one of these, don't bother unless you plan on it being a $300+ (with taxes) paper weight. For that kind of money this thing should fly like a dream and it's an epic fail instead unfortunately. 9 times out of 10 you'll have issues with the transmitter connecting and have to power on/off for it to re-establish. Even then, the thing has a mind of its own.

It has an initial power spin up then goes full throttle regardless of how much you're applying to the throttle stick. The first time I tried it, it scared the heck out of me. Attempts to trim so that it won't drift are pretty much pointless as well. Mine would always drift to the right no matter what I tried. When it didn't drift, it would go full blast attempting to go through the ceiling and stay there until it lost power. Turning off the Falcon at the base of the copter itself seems to be the only way to get it to throttle down. After seeing multiple video reviews on Youtube and my own experience with it I sent it back. I really wanted this to be as awesome as the smaller quad but Airhogs if you're reading this you completely missed the mark on the XL Falcon.

The market is definitely there for something like this but the price point for this particular version doesn't justify the purchase or how it performs. I'd love to see someone else come up with a better handling big Falcon to fly around.

Complete Crap

Luke was right, what a piece of junk.

So let's start with the negatives first, which implies there will be positives later, but there won't.

It's constructed of cheap foam and the controller is constructed from cheap plastic. Right out of the box the lights did not work on the controller. Not the best start, but that was ok because the controller really serves no purpose other than to give you something to hold onto while the drone flies where ever it wants to. Mine was particularly enamored with the tree in my front yard and the roof of my house. Oddly enough, I was a huge fan of Star Wars when I was younger, I also loved playing outside and climbing trees. This drone gave me the opportunity to revisit both aspects of my youth. I would have left it up in one, but I needed to get it back so I could return the piece of crap.

Not for beginners, not worth the initial asking price
by Joshua Bucholtz (3 out of 5 stars)

I bought this for under $40 when Amazon had it on steep clearance. For that price, I feel it wasn't a waste of money. For $100+? Or for the initial $300 asking price? Yeah it isn't worth that.

Upon reading the manual it outlines how to properly connect the controller to the drone, so that hasn't been an issue. The manual also outlines that you shouldn't run the drone with the covers intended to be used only when displaying the drone. After following all of the instructions, flying the drone feels like a 747. It is certainly not a drone for a first time user. Even in advanced mode it simply isn't as nimble as I would have liked it to be. I didn't expect it to bank like a dream, but at the initial asking price I would have expected a much better flight experience.

The throttle response for losing altitude is sluggish, and to entirely kill the motors you are required to hold down the throttle for 3 seconds. I can live with these things. Once you get the hang of it flying the drone is pretty fun. It just isn't "Amazing". Buy this only if you are able to find it heavily discounted.

A nice wall ornament and room fan
by Rob Rob (2 out of 5 stars)

A nice wall ornament and room fan, though very loud and must recharge battery after 6 minutes. As a quadcopter, well it doesn't work well for that purpose. Cheap motors, blades, ESCs, and shoddy mechanical and soldering, and poor flight stability algorithm not matched to the hardware make your chances of getting one that flies very slim. I gave into temptation when I saw this listing again, thinking others just didn't know how to fly it. nope, it's just that bad. Holding it while the motors are running, tilting it to each corner should cause that lowest motor to run faster than the others. But it doesnt. My back right motor runs slower than the rest. And that means there's no way it can restablize after tilting that direction. But it is a nice big piece of styrofoam.

Do not buy if you plan on flying it.

Hovers nice! Made of Styrofoam.

Control has a range of about 5 feet. After that, rotors go on full power and it pins itself to the ceiling until the battery runs out.

Don't by to fly.

Ok. Here we go. I'm giving a five star for the detail (even thought I gave it a 1star) of the millennium falcon. The detail on it is very nice. I do enjoy the sounds and the front ligjts as well as the blue jet lights. I'm an avid starwars collector and am happy to add it to my collection at its new price. I would highly recommend it just for looks and to add it to your collection but only at the lower price. At the full price no ! If you're buying this to fly don't do it ! Unless you want to watch it take off on its own and never get it back ! It will fly but controlling It is impossible. There is very little response when using the controller. I can literally turn off the controller and it will still continue to fly straight up. If you like Star Wars and you want one that flies I suggest purchasing the star destroyer. The controls are much better and easier.

I am conflicted with this purchase the Drone looks great has excellent detail

I am conflicted with this purchase the Drone looks great has excellent detail, looks great just like the falcon, although it doesn't fly very well it's hard to get off the ground and the controls are extremely unresponsive even in expert mode, the slightest wind and you could literally lose your new drone, although I didn't buy this to have as a professional drone we get this to add to our Star Wars collection and how cool is it to say I have a( sort of) flyable Millennium Falcon....

Only learned what a waste of $ this was at Christmas time

Major Rip Off. Bought this for son for Christmas and it turned out to be a piece of junk. One of the problems of buying presents on Amazon is that they have a limited return period. Only learned what a waste of $ this was at Christmas time. Can't return it. BEWARE

Order this if you hate flying toys.

Pretty much why Brick and Mortar wont ever really go away. This thing, at any price is absolutely not worth pennies. The first one was a mess, the second although delivered promptly, has a remote that does not power up. Im old school RC anything. Fixed wing, heli, 3D, FPS drone, many Air Hogs, many park flyers. I just wanted one simple orbit, but cannot seem to find one that even comes close to flying. I am straining to find words with more than four letters that bring curses. First off, shame on you Air Hogs. This is junk. Just junk. Second, at any price this is a waste of time. I should be paid for the amount of frustration and lost minutes this poor display has cost me. Just a terrible wast of time and energy horrible excuse for a toy.
