Thought this was going to be a gag gift for my mother in laws 92 birthday. It turns out, it works great. We cored a half watermelon into slices, and had a bowl shape of rind to use as a tossed salad bowl at lunch. Then we played (mostly a bunch of grandkids played) and made a lot of bite sized chunks of watermelon which made it easy to keep them occupied outside while we finished lunch. Great idea to use it as a way to keep kids off of the phones, they don't want to get the phone sticky, so they just eat a healthy snack. The rind bowl, just gets tossed when it is empty, so less mess to clean up afterwards. two thumbs up

Broke after 3 uses

This broke after using it only 3 times. It's also much harder to use than anticipated...the watermelon has to be almost too ripe to glide smoothly. Very disappointing since we eat at least 1-2 watermelons per week in the summer.

I've only used it for 1 seedless watermelon. my son has squeezed the handles closer together with use. The wire at the tip is still well connected and functioning for now. will update if it changes.
2 watermelons later this is broken, the wire came apart and theres no way I can put it back together. for 19.99 this is unacceptable.

Neat, but not rugged enough. The wire broke! Go for a heavy duty model.

It worked a few times, and it was pretty neat. But after the second or third use, the wire at the end broke off, and at this point, it is pretty much useless. Not a rugged item. I threw it away, but I liked these enough to go and buy a heavy-duty model. I'd recommend starting with that instead... it isn't like it is going to cost that much more.

Takes a little work to get the feel of using this slicer and could be a tad bit sturdier but all in all it gets the job done nicely. Not having lots of wet, drippy rinds to deal with makes for a easier clean up.

Its seems to be made well. I tried it on honeydew and cantaloupe and it didn't work to well with the denser fruit. Waiting to try it on watermelon. It is a great idea.
