Note
The close positioning of USB-C ports on the 2017 & 2016 MacBook Pro (13" & 15") means two CB-A1 adapters can't be plugged into adjacent ports but may be used on opposite sides of the MacBook.
For best performance, the power demand of connected devices should not exceed the total current output of 900mA. Direct connection to the host is recommended for high powered device such as hard drive.
To avoid potential radio frequency interference between 2.4GHz UDB wireless devices and USB 3.1 Gen 1 (USB 3.0) devices, it's best to position them (and these adapters if used with them) on opposite sides of your laptop.

Let me start off by saying that I actually like this product and have been using it successfully on a new MacBook Pro 2017 with Touch Bar. My laptop has 4 USB C ports (two on each side). The AUKEY USB C Adapter works great on this laptop, but you can only use ONE on each side (if using the black ones). If you were trying to plug two of these adapters in simultaneously on the same side, you will be severely disappointed. Don't try and force it!

AUKEY has stated that they have an aluminum version that indeed can be used side-by-side on the new MacBook Pro 2017 - AUKEY USB C Adapter, USB C to USB 3.0 Adapter Aluminum 2 Pack for Samsung Note 8 S8 S8+, Google Pixel 2 XL, MacBook Pro, Nexus 6P 5X, LG G5 V20 (Gray)
. After stating to them the black adapters didn't fit together in my laptop, they sent me a pair of aluminum adapters. I tested this as you can see in my photos, and indeed, they actually DO fit. All-in-all, if using the new MacBook Pro 2017, buy the aluminum adapters ONLY!

Amazing device and very easy to use. I have no issues at all besides it being too wide to put next to each other but the power usbc can still be plug next to it. I highly recommend this as an alternative to the hubs.

Two adapters for the price of one. Great deal. I was skeptical because of the price. When receiving, they came inside a small package holding a card in front of them and the products under that. Opening up the sliding package was extremely hard because I did not want To damage the box (I plan on using it as the travel case for them). I also worried that the adapters would stick out like an eyesore but they don't. The adapters are USBA 3.0. The connectors on both ends are extremely tight fitting but after inserting and removing, it has gotten better. The profile of the adapter is extremely small which is why I am going to keep for box for traveling with them. I plan to leave one connected to my mouse dongle so I don't lose either and the other will be for many other items. I bought the Apple Adapter from the Apple Store when I received my 2016 MBP 15" and I already like the aukey one more simply because its not an eyesore. I will be buying more as a backup to leave around. I would recommend this device for anyone with a USBC adapter because of the value and the appearance.

Update 12/4:

Adapter is still working well with my new MBP. I have noticed that the tightness is getting better. I no longer feel like I am going to break my laptop when inserting it into my ports.

I keep these little things in the case with my MacBook Pro. Most jump drives and peripherals that I run into are the standard USB 3.0 (USB A), but the new MacBooks (both 12" MacBook and the 2016 and beyond MacBook Pros) only have USB C. With these tiny adapters I'm no longer at a loss when a colleague hands me a USB A jump drive.

They are simple, small, inexpensive, and just work. I was worried about the USB C ports on the MacBook that they would hinder me; but with a couple of these I'm not even annoyed and now can take advantage of the benefits of USB C without the drawbacks.

Fully Functional & Very Small

Works like a charm. It does what it's supposed to do and the speeds have not taken any noticeable hits. I have yet to run speed tests, but from teh transfers I've done so far, I haven't noticed any differences in transfer times. The construction is really solid and both connections are very snug. It doesn't bend or jiggle when inserted into a USB-C port with a full size flash drive. The ports on my Macbook Pro are spaced really close together so you won't be able to get two of these side by side, but you could totally charge and have this in the port below.

It's a great value and I have a few of these laying around in my bag at all times. All of a sudden, all of your old toys work perfectly well with that new Macbook Pro of yours!

Works with late 2016 MacBook Pro and wireless USB mice

Works as intended on my late 2016 MacBook Pro 15". I think it is important to note that you cannot have two units plugged in right beside each other on the same side of the MacBook Pro 15". If just another millimeter had been shaved off, then it would be possible. Unlike the Aukey metal bodied dongle that contains 3 USB type A and 1 Ethernet, which interfered with the USB RF receivers used in many wireless mice, these Aukey USB type to USB type C work perfectly with my two wireless mice!!

Works with the new MacBook pro. The USB 3 port seems really tight. It takes considerable force to remove the cable or USB drive from the USB 3 port. Now I can use the USB cables with my MacBook pro :-). The adapter is a tad bit longer than I would like it to be. It sticks out from the sides and it is not a pleasant view. Regardless it works fine and gets it job done.
The item was delivered on time and packaging was good.

They seem to work ok but my intended use is on a 2017 MacBook Pro 15" w/Retina and Touchbar. The USB-C ports are maybe 1 mm too close together to allow these to be used side by side without modification. It is sooo close but would require excessive force to get them to seat - see the pic. It looks like there may be enough plastic material that could be sanded or filed to provide the needed reduction in width, otherwise, while I suppose they may work if forced in at a slight angle I would not recommend this approach given the price of these MacBooks. You get 2 at this price so it is a good value anyway.

UPDATE: Aukey customer service is excellent! They read these reviews and when they saw that I had an issue using two side by side they sent me a pair of updated adapters with metal bodies that are slightly narrower at no charge. I suspect that these are the ones that sell for a few dollars more. These can be inserted in two adjacent ports on the MacBook with no interference.

Everything it is supposed to be! I just purchased a new 15" MacBook Pro and quickly realized I needed a number adapters since the new notebook only comes with USB-C ports. Apple has some excellent dongles but I didn't want to haul dongles with me just to plug in all my various USB devices. That is where AUKEY entered the picture. I did some investigating and quickly came to see that AUKEY has an outstanding reputation. I began looking at their various products and quickly saw the the set of two USB-C to USB 3 adapters is exactly what I wanted, and needed. They arrived quickly. The packaging was excellent and the product works exactly as described. I am very impressed with AUKEY. I will be back for more in the near future.

They don't work anymore.

UPDATE: After about 4 months, they've stopped working consistently. I can barely get my phone to connect (tried multiple cables). My printer can't maintain a stable connection, and my external HD is now useless with these. Idk what happened, but the adspters seem loose and a bit "wiggly" in the usb-c slots. I bought a usb-c lightning cable and it works fine, so it's not the slots themselves.

ORIGINAL REVIEW (Aug 2017):They work fine. Wish it was a bit easier to remove things from the classic USB side, bc it can be a bit of a chore, but they're fine.
