Poorly made product can't actually pick up toothpick
by Alex in NYC (2 out of 5 stars)

I hope Amazon would just remove all the reviews by people who don't actually own the product, because they are not the least helpful. I ordered this a few months ago, and the product finally arrived last week. The price was acceptable to me at $60, and it's a little cheaper now. Sure, $150 would be way too much, but actually, even at $60, the product can't really justify the price. It is not very well made and the plastic is a little too light to feel good. The parts also do not move smoothly as in the YouTube video. It can't really pick up the toothpick, unless a special kind of toothpick is needed, in which case, they should at least include a few in the box and offer an option to buy more in the future. I am not a Star War fan, so I can't say if it would be worth it if you collect everything Star War. I just appreciated the humor in the design and thought it could be useful. But since it doesn't deliver the toothpick, there's no point of keeping it. I wish the execution were better.

Don't waste the money

Does not work. Tried three different types of toothpicks - the grabbing mechanism is fuct. The novelty of it isn't so cool anymore...my world is shattered.

The product is fun, but it does not retrieve toothpicks

The product is fun, but it does not retrieve toothpicks. Im on my third size of them and none seem to work with it. Would not waste money on this item unless you really just want it for the look.

You have to have the right toothpicks for it to work.

Alright, so here is the deal with the toothpicks you need. You have to buy pointy on one side, blunt on the other side toothpicks to fit this. However, you also have to get a bit shorter ones. I purchased this with 3.25" toothpicks, and ended up cutting down the length of the toothpick to make it work. I would say probably 3" or shorter to fit. Once you have the blunt end and the right length, it works like a charm.

I would like a replacement or my money back

This product did not work. Darth Vader is unable to grab the toothpicks.

Came here from Reddit, not sure what I was supposed to expect. Read the reviews!

This thing is a disspointment, but a cool conversation piece, definitely not worth the price of the impulse buy though. Grabbing portion seems like it requires a very elusive style of toothpick, some of the fancier ribbed-handle toothpicks work somewhat but I've never been able to get it to grab without "assisting" the mechanism. This is an easy one to overlook, but might be fun to pickup at a yard sale for a few bucks.

Beware Of Return Fees
by Debbie (1 out of 5 stars)

Instructions were in Japanese(?) I couldn't figure out how it worked. BEWARE this seller charges 20% restocking fee + you pay shipping return (back to Japan.)

Don't even bother trying it. FRAUD.

Updated: Returned this product as it didn't work, only received a 50% return. So I'm the idiot that paid $42 then shipping (from Japan) and returned it (paid postage) to Torrance, CA to get 50% back. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT AND SELLER. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Doesn't work. Bought it, tried it. Toothpicks either fall to the floor or get stuck. And as noted it only holds 5-10 (can't tell because it keeps getting jammed but even with just 2 it gets jammed). Return policy is IFFY - buyer pays return postage (this is OK) then seller will evaluate "if its broken or malfunctioning" and determine what, if anything the will refund. Should have made this clear in the item description. Box arrived with postage from Japan - return address is in California. Save your money but another Star Wars item. Disappointed.

... we saw a commercial and I mentioned what a cool idea it was
by Jason D Gray (1 out of 5 stars)

Got this as a gift after we saw a commercial and I mentioned what a cool idea it was. Pretty disappointing. It doesn't grab the toothpicks very well, and we tried different kinds including the not-pointed ends, for it to grip better, but it still failed more often than not. The plastic and construction are cheap, and the mechanism is not smooth. It needs more control and consistency. I figured no worries until I found out how much it cost! Wow, not worth the price!!

Really cool, but difficult to make work
by Panda (4 out of 5 stars)

First, this uses JAPANESE TOOTHPICKS. Why? Because those LITERALLY have miniature handles on them.

That out of the way, This is a must-have for the coolness factor. As a reliable toothpick dispenser, I give it 2/5 even with the right toothpicks.
