One of the coolest items I have ever used.

This is beyond awesome. You can charge your cell phone with a candle and some water. You get just about 1 minute for one minute worth of charging. I got a 4 percent charge when I used it in 15 minutes on a Samsung 6+. You also get clean water when you do it because you are heating water to get your charge.

It is very easy to use. You get a heat source, pour water in the provided pot and you get power.

The charger folds into a pretty small space and would be easy to move around or even pack into a backpack. The provided heatsource lasts for 6 ours and is reusable. When I was charging my phone it told me I could have a full charge in just about 2 hours and I was at 75 percent to begin with.

This might be an expensive item but all you need to charge your phone is water and heat if you have this. This could be extremely valuable when you lose power and can not charge your phone.

This is a great product! The first Kickstarter I ever funded

THIS. This is a great product! The first Kickstarter I ever funded, and it came through with flying colours.

Does exactly what it says, and has the look and feel of a consumer electronics item while maintaining a rugged design form. (Aka, it feels like this sucker could take a fair bit of punishment!) Charges very quickly. Becomes useable in moments after lighting the candle. Very very impressive!

Thoughtful, Well Designed Product For Emergencies
by Gadget Geek (5 out of 5 stars)

I LOVE cool, innovative products and the Stower Candle Charger definitely falls into that category. It is a reliable product with non-expiring consumables that that can be stowed away for emergencies.

The design is modeled after camping stoves that aim to reduce weight and size. The Stower has done a great job of compacting a stand, water pot, a sterno style candle, and the USB cord in a 4.25" x 4.25" space. The materials are light but the unit is well constructed and seems stable.

The assembly is simple - remove candle, unroll cord, straighten pot handle and remove pot from base, insert candle into base, pot on top of frame, add water and light candle. You have power in less than 1 minute. The rate of charge for an iPhone 6 is about 2.5 minutes for every 1%. This charging rate was for a phone at 20% charge. I plan on testing charge times at 80% & 90% charge - though it feels foolish since this charger is meant to be used in emergencies for nearly run-down devices. Just as a note, whenever I charge a device through a portable battery source, i generally charge it only till 80% as I can get double the 80% charges from the battery than the 90-95% charges.

Recommended! Great device/appliance/tool for emergencies or even extended camping - make space for this gear in your backpack! ;o)

Pros:
* Thoughtful, compact design
* Well constructed
* Easily available power source (candles)
* Good rate of charge - like your USB 2.0 laptop port
* Can be stowed away for years without requiring renewal of consumables
* Multi-function - heats/purifies water while charging

Cons:
* None

Perfect packaging
by Ethan (5 out of 5 stars)

You can tell a lot by how a product is packaged. I love that new-in-the-box-Apple experience and that is what I got opening the Stower Candle Charger. Yes, it works. Yes, it is well built. But the engineering behind packaging the charger inside the box is impressive.

Some might not think packaging tells much about a product. But when I go to put an item away for a season or packed with camping supplies, I want it to fit tight, without little room for breakage and I want to be able to reuse the packaging. Stower makes it work. Everything goes back together like a nicely designed, folding parts and nothing rattles. Storage of this is going to be super easy and compact.

Excellent work, folks. Nicely done.

Such a cool product! Fortunately I haven't had to use it in an emergency situation yet but I have brought it on a trip where I did not have electric access for a weekend. While it can take a while to charge up, it definitely does the trick. Great to have in case of emergencies!

Wow what a fantastic, innovative and useful product! This is definitely a must have for your emergency and camping kits. If you don't add this to your home just for safety you may regret it when the power goes out or there is an emergency.

Great little device

Great little device. Capable of charging my phone in less than a min. Great when I am out at the lake or if power goes out. In an emergency situation it will be of great value, but I mostly use it when I am at the lake.
