    Here's the skinny . . .
by Good Samaritan (4 out of 5 stars)

So here's the deal: I will address the product first and then the bone conduction technology last. I bought this product to be able to here ambient noise while cycling and walking the dogs. In this regard, I think there is NO substitute. The headphones themselves are well made, true to instruction and fit fine as they are designed. They are water resistant and fit generally well with a removable inner band that keeps it on the lower occiput part of your skull. I don't notice them after a while over the tops of my ears any more than I would regular earphones. I can wear glasses and a helmet without a problem. The sound is pretty muffled to the public just like regular earphones. The placement themselves on your zygomatic arches (cheek bones) took a bit of getting used to, but not a problem. I'm not crazy about the flashing blue swooshes over the ear pieces that light up, but it's no different really than other blue tooth devices. Buttons for volume on the set are fairly east to access and manage. I think for the technology (and there is a novel "cool" factor to hearing without "hearing"), this is well-priced and an excellent buy for what it is.

That being said, as my first foray into bone conduction technology there are some drawbacks (to the technology, not the product) as compared to regular earphones. Again, if you need to be able to hear what's going on around you while at the same time being able to listen to your music/sermons or whatever, this is what you're looking for. Because the sound is conducted through your bones and bypasses your eardrum, there is an inherent muffled quality - not bad, but noticeable - akin I would say to listening to airplane earphones. If you keep the volume moderate, it's fairly comfortable - but you will hear (as you're supposed to) all the other noises around you which will drown these out. So if you're in a busy city environment for example, this may not be the best choice. For cycling in the boonies, they're fine. If your turn the volume higher, because the technology uses vibration over sound, you will feel the buzzing and bumping on your bones to the point where these things are moving a little. Imagine the vibrations from two small electric razors with heads the size of a nickel against your cheek bones and you'll get the idea - it gets annoying very quickly. I've noticed that there's a certain threshold around 7/10 - 10/10 where it's not comfortable for more than a few minutes and my inner ears or bones get fatigued from the vibration. So I keep the volume at a 5/10-6/10 - where I probably would anyway - and it's fine. Lastly, while walking with the phone in my pocket, there will be an occasional blip in the transmission - I haven't figured out if it's a range issue or not, but it doesn't occur when I'm holding the phone in my hand.

So there you have it. My overall consensus is that this is a good product with some limitations in the technology of which you just need to be aware. I hope this was helpful!

They work well, but could use improvement. Here are a bunch of pros and cons...
by Edward lee baker (3 out of 5 stars)

I work alone in a bakery with loud equipment and these have been a big improvement over a speaker or a single earbud. I can hear the door, I can hear the oven timers, etc.

Unfortunately, they don't play well with the handsfree features of my android phone.

The bluetooth has maybe a 30 foot range, but if my phone is in my pocket and I turn in the opposite direction, the audio cuts out until I face forward again. In other words, my body blocks the bluetooth signal now and again. It doesnt disconnect, but there is an interruption.

The sound is good for music, but only if you use a player with good equalizers. I'm using jetaudio player. I definitely had to tweak the equalization to get the levels right. Mostly, if the bass is too heavy, the headphone part can really buzz against the temple and be a bit distracting. I still havent got a perfect balance between bass and midrange, that's a sacrifice I'm willing to deal with for the ability to hear my surroundings. For podcasts and audiobooks without alot of sound effects or music, there isn't so much of an issue with sound.

The part that wraps around the head is a bit small for my head and doesnt seem to stay up where I would like it, but it's bearable.

The closure on the leather storage bag broke the first week.

They don't really work that well with my glasses. Maybe with wire frames they would be fine, but the earpieces of my raybans have to sit above the headphones, rather than around my ears, which makes bifocals not as effective. They are just fine with a ballcap.

Pairing with my audio reciever at home has made it easier to watch a movie or play games while others in the house are sleeping.

While they are fairly resistant to dust (in my case flour) and water, the cover for the charging port is very cheap and is very close to snapping off after a few short months, rendering them no longer dust/water resistant.
The battery tends to last me about 8 hours per night.

    Very disappointing
by William Pfeifer (2 out of 5 stars)

I will start with the positives. At lower volumes, in quiet conditions, these headphones actually sound pretty good. I can leave my phone on the coffee table or on a bedside table and move around freely in the room. Unfortunately that is about all the positive things I can say.

Now for the negatives.... Battery life, 3-4 hours on a good day. I have a pair of cheaper, wireless earbuds from another company that can easily go 7-8 hours between charges.

Sound quality at higher volumes is horrid. The earpieces make a terrible rattling noise at anything over 60-70% volume. Unfortunately, having any background noise at all requires you to turn the headphones up beyond this rattling level. You can outright forget about using these in loud environments (for instance, mowing your lawn).

Speaking of using these while mowing your lawn, they do not work outdoors! Inside, sure, no problem. Put your device in the middle of the room and wander around. Outside the functional range drops to inches. I even attempted putting my phone in a pocket at the top of my backpack and still got horrible chopping in the signal. Do not plan on using these for jogging or riding a bike. They will not work.

Lastly, the build quality... Yikes. The rubber strap that is supposed to hold the headset firmly against the back of your head literally fell of while putting it on for the first time. The glue that was supposed to hold the rubber cushion part that rests on your ears was all but non-existent making these parts constantly shift and threaten to fall off. And the worst part, I had this headset for less than two weeks before the right earpiece completely stopped working. I have no idea what happened. It worked fine, I plugged them in to charge them over night, picked them up the next morning and nothing.

I really wanted this headset to be great but unfortunately they didn't even hold up to my most minimal of standards. I do not recommend this product, it is the first item I have ever had to return to Amazon.

These are ok for what they are, but I have to say my previous set (different company) worked better. When outside around any kind of traffic, the volume has to be increased to the "danger" level to hear anything; my previous wireless headphones did not. The fit was also rather tight on my narrow cranium, though thankfully they seem to have relaxed a bit with wear. The blue lights on either side of the over-the-ear portion blink when sound is active and it took a while to get used to seeing flashes of blue light out of the corner of my eyes, but you do get used to it and I like the thought of it helping others to see me at night. The microphone seems to pick up well and overall it works as it should, I've not yet had any complaints of others being unable to hear me.

Not useful for overcoming wind noise while cycling
by KJ (3 out of 5 stars)
    October 14, 2016

Bought them for listening to podcasts while biking, but I had to turn the volume almost all the way up to overcome wind noise at the speeds I ride at, which defeats the purpose by making it difficult to hear cars. I didn't find it significantly better than an in-ear non-noise blocking bluetooth headset at keeping out wind noise: Tronfy iWork Mini 4.0 Minimal Wireless Headset with Mic for iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 5, 5S, 5C, Bluetooth Enable Device, Android Smart Phone - Black
. The Plantronics 855 blocked all sound including wind noise entirely, but even in just one ear that can be a hazard.

The sound quality is quite acceptable, but when I used them at a reasonable volume in the office others complained that they could hear the sound.

Sounded good, although received a headache listening to these and the vibration was evident in my jaw. Found a loose 'speaker' within the enclosure after trying to correct the rattling when at higher volumes. the band cracked after light use and is not a resilient material. I would NOT recommend this product as quality and quality control appear to be an issue.

    Poor customer support
by RickV (1 out of 5 stars)
    November 28, 2016

Sounds quality is average which alone is not enough to give it one star. My BM-7 broke after about 3 months of daily use. The reason for the one star rating is the poor customer support. I attempted to go through their support mechanism to get my BM-7 fixed or replaced all I got from their customer service was the run around. They will not even return my correspondence any longer.

    Cool alternative to traditional headphones

best of both worlds, love music but can't be "out of touch" with what goes on around me. These things are like beaming the music right into my brain... better than traditional headphones...

Quality not worth the price. Good bone conduction concept. Design needs improvement.

    October 18, 2016

    Pros:
    - Bone conduction (as I'm tired of having ear plugs stuck into my ears)
    - LED lights on the headphone

    Cons:
    - Broken after nearly 4 months of indoor use (See photos. I haven't even used it in any workouts)
    - Control buttons are too small (how about having a phone app to do the control via Bluetooth?)
    - Button Arrangement (how about having the USB port & power button on one side and the "+" & "-" button on the other side?)

Great for Construction and Bike Riding
by Tim (5 out of 5 stars)
    May 4, 2016

I have heard a lot about these 'Bone Conducting' headsets lately, and decided to give a try. I have purchased a few other things from this brand, and decided to give their new product a try. Also after looking at many different designs, the BM-7 seemed the most stylish and fair priced option on the market. After several days of using in various locations and activities, they have continued to impress me.

First I took them on a road bike ride. For anybody who bikes is easy to understand the dangers of riding with earbuds in as cars continuously pass by within inches of your bike without you ever hearing them coming. Since I greatly enjoy listening to my favorite podcast as I ride, the BM-7s open ear design really hit the spot. Fitting snug under my bike helmet with a firm fit and could easily hear cars coming from behind.

Secondly, I took them to the local gym. I will say maybe not the best use of bone conducting headphones. Simply because at the Gym I prefer to zone in and block out the other noises and distractions in the room. Was good for listening to a podcast while working out, but playing music and with the gym background music just didn't fit very well, but is only a personal liking.

Lastly, I took them to my job where I am a construction worker. To say they changed my life is a complete understatement! For anybody that works constructions knows the pains of positioning yourself next to the 1 boom box every 300 feet. After asking my boss if was ok to wear on the job, I can know walk around listening to my favorite songs all day. I will say has given me an extra pep in my step as well. I am not sure what the rules and regulations are for most construction sites, but defiantly worth the money for any construction guys.
