Well made cardboard armor
by Nick (5 out of 5 stars)

This is a fun but completely ridiculous purchase. Believe it or not, I've been interested in the idea of cardboard samurai armor for years but none was available for purchase until now. I was stoked when this armor popped up when--you guessed it--I was googling "cardboard samurai armor." Even better, it was for sale on Amazon! I realize how ridiculous this all sounds.

The package arrived at my doorstep two weeks later in an Amazon Japan shipping box. The package was about 2.5'x2.5', I'd say, and fit the product pretty well. Opening the package up, I noticed some bent cardboard but this was minimal and doesn't seem to affect the end result that much.

So what you get is all the pieces (minus necessary rubber bands for wearing the leg and arm braces) to make your own set of armor. You follow the instructions, which are minimal but sufficient and, yes, in English. All in all, it took about two hours to put everything together. I can't imagine you could put it together much faster. I expected the armor to be shiny, like in the advertisements, but instead it had all the sheen you'd expect from cardboard. Everything else came as advertised. It fit me just fine, and it was made to be adjusted to other body sizes. The design seems pretty will thought out.

All in all, this was a fun little guided art project with an excellent and funny result. Now all I need is a paper katana, wakazashi, and some paper clothes and I'll then be able to truly call myself the cardboard samurai. I can't say this armor is the weirdest dream come true, but I'd love to shake the hands of the team that created this flimsy piece of art. Bravo.

This thing was awesome!

Got it for halloween and it was great! Took me over an hour to put together, kinda like a puzzle, the helmet takes the longest. The only flaw is if you are thin, even the tightest adjustment on the torso is still a little big but that can be easily dealt with, with even just some tape.

It a cheaper version for those like me that can't afford a set of samurai armor. I did some mods to it...but it was worth the money.
