I don't install anything in a tile shower that isn't strong enough to use for a solid strong grab bar and this one fits the bill. I generally use wood behind the tile to provide support so that I can use stainless wood screws to mount it instead of the included fastener system.

Was going to place on front side of shower under the controls and shower head. BUT checked how it worked on back end which our new shower is 60 inches long and it looked really nice there and kept me from fighting with the contractor who was insisting on putting a third hand rail at an angle and I was saying NO. Meantime I won and this solved that problem. We did not install a seat and figured that can be an option to add later by us or by future owners but for now happy with this dual handrail and tray . I am trying to figure out how to get it to stay seated better however because twice now it's come loose and fallen to the shower floor. But want to keep it loose enough to pull out and clean now and again too.

Everyone should have this Moen grab bar and shelf in their bath and shower area! The sturdy grab bar was easy to install (we attached it to studs in the tub area but it comes with parts to install it to areas without studs in the bath wall). The safety grab bar helps all family members feel more secure as they turn in the bath/shower area, and the shelf provides a place to store bath products, scrubby gloves and/or washcloths. I'll be buying this product for every bath we have. It looks great, makes us feel more secure and works very well for all our family members.

Great with modification. This my second one and is useful as a grab bar and soap dish. To make it usable as a soap dish I drilled several 3/16 drain holes along the front edge so it would drain properly.

I added this support bar for my aging mother by the toilet for additional support getting up and down. Installation was fairly easy for studs, "screws NOT included" the hardware they included was for drywall only. But I didn't want huge holes and I trust the studs way more. The weakest part are mount brackets since this isn't a solid piece of metal, the part that screws to the wall detaches from the support bar. But once fully attached to the wall it is still quite strong and I would trust it to hold over 200 lbs. It looks quite good for what it is and the shelf is removable if you put it in the shower or bath to clean off the water.

I've installed quite a few grab bars and I always use Moen. They are the best in my opinion. They're strong and they anchor securely. if there isn't a stud behind the point of attachment, Moen makes a great hollow wall anchor that will provide the same level of strength and security. I like the dual purpose of this unit. I have it installed in a walk-in shower that didn't have a soap dish or shelf - just a flat tile wall. (I hate those metal trees that sit in the corner and get nasty over time...) I particularly like that this was designed to shed water so it doesn't pool in the tray. Get it. You'll like it.

I didn't realize it's designed for areas without studs which is fantasic for max flexibility but I didn't have the required large hole saw and had studs in perfect locations. I also had 3" stainless wood screws laying around(they don't include wood screws only machine screws for the special hollow wall mounting) so I did the much simpler stud mounting which only needed a small drill bit and used the stainless screws through the my shower panel, and cement board. There are several holes and slots in the round flanges where screws can go, so easily got 3 screws into each stud. So the non stud design is fantastic but you'll need a 1 1/4" hole saw of a type that can cleanly cut whatever your walls are.

We installed these in two showers - one brushed nickel and one bronze. Both were beautiful and "quality." Large and very sturdy for holding shampoo, soap and also can be used as assistance for getting into tub or shower. Also, there is a removable shelf that you can remove to clean. One bar went into the studs and one wasn't possible. Depending on the tile, you may need more tools, i.e., diamond tip drill, longer screws. On one we used a diamond tip drill and the other a carbide tip drill. We had a tile installer install these for us even though my husband is handy. He was glad he did since he didn't have a diamond tip drill. It took about an hour to install.

Bought these for our tub and now buying for a second bathroom. hese grab bars are screwed into the tile and concrete board under the tiles to makes them very stable when leaned on, so are a small project to install. Well worth doing it right. The plastic dishes that fit inside the grab bars are great! My husband drilled holes in the plastic dishes that fit inside these grab bars, so they drain after being shower sprayed. You can use the grab bars without the plastic dishes, which just drop in, but they really are useful!
