I very rarely write reviews for products but with so many one star reviews on this item - Which almost made me not buy it - I felt compelled to give my opinion. To help shift the balance a bit. Some of the one-story views I swear I believe or from arrival company house it just isn't like experience with this product. This hoverboard was bought for my 75 pound 10-year-old niece and she absolutely loves it. It arrived fully charged up and ready to ride straight out of the box. Immediately she was on it and rolling over top of my hardwood floor and then onto the carpet - where it performed spectacularly - continuously. Once she got the hang of it she was riding it from room to room without breaking stride. Indeed, she would cross thresholds in the doorways like they were a minor speed bump. We went outside to ride after she rode it for a bit inside the house and again it exceeded my expectations. Those expectations being that I was scared that I purchased a piece of junk after so many negative reviews, I live in a suburb where most of the road is flat but there is a pretty significant hill at the top of the road and the hoverboard went over it like a Land Rover! The board goes about 8.5 mph which is pretty fast for a kid. All things considered, for $349 this was an outstanding purchase given that it enabled me time to play with my niece and watch her smile! I mean, never got off of it for more than a couple hours of time that it takes to charge during the 48 hours that she was at our house visiting. Speaking of charge, it's also noteworthy to say that a full charge seemed to provide about 90 minutes right time before it died completely.

I'll try and keep giving updates as to how it is holding up and if anyone has any questions ask me and I'll try to help to the best of my ability. However, if you are looking for a reasonably priced hoverboard that will do what it says and not burn your house down, this is a pretty awesome buy!

At first it worked great. But after a few days my 9 year old daughter noticed it was starting to vibrate at certain speeds. Gradually it got worse and worse, to the point you couldn't ride it any more. Called tech support and recalibrated it but no change. Sent the unit back for a complete exchange directly from Swagtron. Promised to get a new unit in return, but got a refurbished one instead. Sent the 2nd unit back and eventually got a brand new unit directly from Swagtron. Right out the box.... The 3rd unit shook just like the first. Recalibrated it again..but still same issue. At my whits end with this product and company. I suggest you don't go with this product or company.

I know I'm an old man. But my wife bought me this for my 42nd birthday. It's a riot. Bought one for my daughters birthday a month later. It's very durable and we really enjoy riding together.

This works very well. Battery last a long time, and my daughter absolutely loves it. She has had no problems so far (had it about a month). Everything seems to be working as it supposed to and there have been no issues thus far. I do recommend this "hoverboard"!

Awesome Hoverboard!

My eight year old grandson was absolutely ecstatic to open this hoverboard for his birthday. He has had it for about 6 months now with no issues whatsoever. It is a perfect "starter" hoverboard as it has a learning mode and a standard mode. He also loves the LED headlights and Mom loves the rubber bumpers! So far it has been everything he hoped for! Would highly recommend!

got this for our 8 year old for Christmas- and the whole family loves it! even us parents have been playing around on this. We have races, design a course and then see who does it that fastest- We all have said it really feels like our brain and the swagratron suddenly sync and perform in unison. Of course we've had some crashes and a few of us have been tossed off- but that's user error- this machine is super responsive! i mean you should see us twirl!...- and it does go fast- Really fast!- my 25 year old wrecked on it and it slammed into the curb and cement mail box and it did crack both fenders.... is this disappointing? heck yes! but i can't imagine any of my toys, motorcycles and jeeps included not getting a crack if they had slammed just as hard into the cement as this did. so.,, IF the silicone covers fit better and stayed on then maybe the cracks could have been avoided- and that is why i only give it a 4 star instead of 5- and i'll update my review if anything changes-

This hover board met my expectations and my daughters. It was easy to learn how to manuver it. I like the fact that the battery is now protected so I'm not worried about fires. Plus my daughter loves how fast it charges. It's a great hover board!

Doesn't appear to be made well or hold up.

The first one I received.... straight out of the box it did not work. Followed all the manufacturer's recommendations on how to resolve the issue. Had a second one sent, received the second one yesterday 3/22/18. This one also doesn't work and even has something loose rattling around inside. Not sure if this failure is from the carrier or the product. Either way, not happy and not confident this is a well made product even if the carrier is to blame.

Works indoor well, not so much outdoor

I bought this hover board after seeing and trying it out at a friends house. My kids were excited and I invested money in buying one. We started using it indoor inside my home on carpet and hardwood floor, it worked really well. But as soon as we took it outside on the asphalt, it didn't balance at all. The road outside my home is pretty flat and without any pot holes or cracks. Even on that road, it kept going sideways every now and then, but not all the time. Several people tried and all of them had the same experience. At the time of this writing, I am still within the return period and asked Amazon for an exchange. I do not want to give up on this product yet since my kids love it. I want to give another chance to this hover board before I decide to return it all together. Waiting to for the replacement to arrive.

I man comepletely satisfied with this product. It only takes like 2 hours to charge and can go up to 11 miles an hour on a single charge! I recommend this hoverboard to someone who doesn't want to spend a lot of money or buy a very cheap one. This one is perfect.
