Swivel Failed Causing Injury

Swivel failed and completely released the swing, causing injury to my 6 year old daughter when she hit the concrete porch. She weighs about 50 lbs and the swing was very light. There is no reason at all why a swivel should be sold with a product that can cause injury to a human when that part is rated for 15 times more than the actual weight it was holding when it failed. See pictures attached which clearly show the metal shaft came right through the eye that was supposed to hold it for at lease a 750 lb load.

Strap is fine. Carabiner is fine. But swivel is too small and of poor quality. Does not spin smoothly, causing binding thus a horizontal shearing force that snapped the swivel (spinner) in two. Dropped my 10 year old daughter. No major injury, but if you use this swivel and your kids like to spin (and all do), be ready for a bad day.

This worked really well, a lot easier than using rope & stronger too. I hung our swing pretty high & could've used a 15' or 20' if they make it, but all in all I'm very pleased.

Very good choice for a Three Chain Tire Swing

I chose Rhino Product's Extra Long Tree Swing Hanging Kit for its design and durability. I think this will be the best product to keep a tree branch healthy (compared to a rope or chain, which will cut off circulation and lead to a dead branch eventually). It wouldn't hurt to place some sort of protection (e.g. carpet scrap) between the strap and branch to further protect the tree. The strap has a higher load factor than any swing will likely bear.

I was uncertain of the swivel's load bearing limit, so replaced it with an AusKit Rotational Device (30kN), which is rated to hold an amazing 6,744 pounds (30 x 224.8lbs/kN). It's extra smooth, small, and designed to hold a carabiner or C clamp well.

I had originally order the strap during Christmas of 2017. The strap held up until March 2019 and started to tear. Our kids did use the strap/swing pretty frequently. I reached out to to RhinoMate about the issue and they replaced the bad strap with a brand new one. Excellent customer service which shows they stand behind their products and customers who use them. I highly recommend this strap if you are hanging up a tree swing or something similar. It's a great and sturdy product!

We used some rope to hang our swing for a couple of years, which rotted and broke. I"m hoping this will be better and easier on the tree. The straps don't cut into the branch like the rope did. Some people on here have complained about the swivel, but that isn't something I received. I got a strap and a carabiner, which works perfectly for my application which is a hammock swing. The length wasn't exactly right, but an extra loop around the branch fixed that.

Broke after one year

My grandkids used the tree swing supported by this strap for just one summer. We took down the strap in the fall to protect from winter weather and put it back up in the spring. On Easter Sunday my husband was pushing the grandkids (ages 6 & 8) on the tree swing when the strap broke in mid-swing. Thankfully no one got hurt badly -- only a few bruises. Would not recommend strap. My husband replaced it with a nylon rope rated for 300 lbs. and made several loops around the tree branch. That way if one loop breaks there are others to support the swing.
