Could Have Been Great, Just Meh

It will eventually be a useful piece of furniture, but first I have to get past the resentment of my dashed hopes. To wit: 1. The instructions are written in laughably awkward English (for lack of a better term); 2. The manufacturing quality is off; the unit will certainly be sturdy once it is built, but there are holes drilled in the metal legs that won't weaken it, but they don't correspond to anything pertaining to assembly; 3. There are spots that need holes drilled that don't have any, so I'll have to have someone do them. Oh, fun. This table could have been great; the work surface is generous and the metal legs would be stout. However, the assembly process just takes a lot of joy out of ownership.

Fabulous Bed Desk!
by Auntimom (5 out of 5 stars)

When I saw this clever invention, I was amazed that someone had come up with such an innovation for those of us who love to sit in bed and work, or play and have a functional full sized desk and not have to put up with one of those laptop pillow desks!

For around $100, you get this easy to assemble, sturdy, easily moveable, spacious desk that hovers over one's bed. Yes, it's expandable from twin to Kind size beds in width and also can be raised/lowered to accommodate your height preference. Please also note that you can tilt the angle of the desk itself forward by lowering the front support legs, making for a more comfortable reach. I find that this helps with giving enough room to put my legs under the front edge of the desk and allow my doggies to still be able to crawl underneath.

Now to the aesthetics and functionality of this Bed Desk: I took note of other's reviews of this unit as having difficulty in assembling due to inadequate instructions. I guess I've put together too many 'self-assembled' pieces of furniture to complain about inadequate assembly instructions, as I was able to put this together using good old 'common sense' and general construction skills. Really, this is super easy to assemble. Addressing the complaint that there can be cosmetic blemishes: I found one small scratch on the front metal bar that supports the front of the desk, that's it. Granted it shouldn't have been there, but I figured it wasn't a big deal as the scratch is hidden by my body when I'm sitting at the desk and nobody has noticed it as a flaw. The locking casters are excellent also. I just leave mine unlocked all the time, as I'm up and down from the bed several times/day. However, if you have pets or don't watch your step when you get up from the desk, the lock may get pressed down into the locking mode and will cause the desk to slide, not roll! Just flip up the lock and you're ready to roll again!

How I set my desk up may be helpful to some: Since this is now my major work area for computing, I mounted a power strip (with 2 USB plugs too), a separate USB Hub, my external hard drive from my old laptop (as I access some apps that I don't have on my new laptop), a pencil/pen/gadget holder, a clip on, battery powered light, my phone stand, and my 12" iPad with Bluetooth keyboard.

I taped the cord of the power strip to the right front leg of the frame (as this was the closest to a plug-in) and used two sided tape to stick the power strip to the inside of the right side wall. I plugged my laptop power cord into that strip and ran the cord out the right side hole and around the back of the desk and then in to the left wall hole, allowing me to power my laptop. I have my old hard drive plugged into one of my USB ports on my laptop. I have two retractable lightening cables located at both USB Hubs to charge my iPhone and iPad.

If you enjoy sitting in bed and working on your laptop or tablet, or writing a letter, working on crafts, reading a book, etc this is the Bed Desk you need! To review, it's very reasonably priced, easy to assemble, very attractive, moves easily, and provides excellent work space. I can highly recommend this desk, as it works perfectly for me!

PS: I just push this desk to the end of the bed when I'm ready to go to bed. The doggies can still come up the ramp I have at the end of the bed and crawl under the desk when they want to join me. Since I have this desk plugged into power, I can't 'park' the desk in another location (nor do I have the room)! Good luck and DO ENJOY!!!

Best bed table out there!

Absolutely love it! Bought this to go over my King size bed for when my husband and I eat and watch a movie together :) Works great! We also sometimes will work from our bed with our laptops and we left the sides and back off for more room.. It fits great over our big bed and we both can work with both of our laptops and still have plenty of room on it. Received the item fast and was easy to put together. Great quality too! Thank you so much!

Almost perfect

I have a small room and try to utilize my space as effectively as possible. This bed table was the perfect piece of furniture that is mobile, instead of having a regular bulky desk. It's fairly easy to assemble, can be done with one person, but 2 might be easier (it's easier to adjust heights and widths with 2 people). Some of the parts came 'rusty' but it was ok because they aren't noticeable now. My only huge complaint is when you start to move the table and the wheels 'auto lock'. SUPER ANNOYING when I'm trying to pull the table. Haven't found a solution yet, but I love the table so much I'm willing to try anything to get it to not lock.

The problem could SO SO SO SO SO EASILY BE RECTIFIED BY PRE-PUNCHING HOLES IN THE METAL LEGS ...
by Annie Pope (1 out of 5 stars)

This is flimsy and cheaply made and I never had a chance to use it the way I wanted to use it because when I went to tighten the screws that fit the tabletop into the legs, the plastic knobs stripped immediately. I am a relatively feeble 70-year-old woman and not that strong, and I did NOT wrench the knobs too far. It happened only on one side, but that was enough to keep the table from being level so that things would slide off one end. Since I must use the computer most of the day, I was hoping to put my recumbent bike legs under it and cycle while I used my laptop, which I wanted to rest on the tabletop. That way I could get a little motion going while I was using the computer. I had so hoped this would work as my girlfriend lost a lot of weight configuring her recumbent bike in this manner. However, it did not work. The problem could SO SO SO SO SO EASILY BE RECTIFIED BY PRE-PUNCHING HOLES IN THE METAL LEGS SO THAT THE TABLE COULD BE ADJUSTED INCH BY INCH AND NOT BY VIRTUE OF THE TIGHTNESS OF THE SCREWS.

I HOPE THAT THIS COMPANY WILL REMAKE THEIR PRODUCT BY USING PRE-PUNCHED HOLES IN THE LEGS SO THAT I CAN USE IT. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU DO BECAUSE I NEED SUCH A SET-UP AND WILL BE YOUR FIRST CUSTOMER. BUT I CANNOT HAVE MY LAPTOP AND A BOOK OR TWO AND HOT COFFEE ROLLING OFF THE TOP AND/OR COLLAPSING MY TABLE EVERY TIME I TRY TO USE IT BECAUSE OF A STUCK SCREW. THIS HAPPENED ON BOTH THE OUTER SCREW KNOB AND THE INNER SCREW KNOB ON THE RIGHT SIDE. i cannot even remove the screws and put in alternates because they are so tightly wedged in there. Cannot tell you how angry and infuriated I am that this happened. More than $80 down the drain.

I assembled it all by myself!

Arrived sooner than promised. I am a 60 year old woman and found the table easy enough to assemble by myself. There was one dent in one of the holes you put the poles into, but a pair of pliers fixed that. I am loving this table! It is sturdy and with the new 2-inch wheels (upgraded version), it rolls just fine.

Good Sturdy Table.
by Rollinggirl,Top Contributor: Coloring (5 out of 5 stars)

I did a lot of research before I purchased this one. It fits perfectly over my full size adjustable bed. The table isn't hard to put together if you take your time and give it a little thought. However it isn't easily adjustable. If you want to raise or lower the height you really need two people. Even so I give it five stars because the tray is large enough to be useful, you can use it comfortably. No twisting like you do with a side table.

Wouldn't recommend
by Jake U. (2 out of 5 stars)

I don't understand why the reviews are so positive the table was poorly made with multiple defects. There were scratches, paint chips, dents, poor wields, and the table was poorly painted. It's also wobbly I wouldn't trust it holding more than 100 pounds. I honestly though I had gotten a used one when I first got the table

Great over-bed table, especially for the price, great service
by iHeartAmazon (5 out of 5 stars)

Having a disability that frequently requires bedrest, this table means I can still participate a little in life while maintaining some independence: laptop, puzzle, pay bills, write thank-you notes, etc. without having to always wait for help or lift/carry items to the bed first (not always possible). I'm so grateful for this over-bed table which then handily rolls out of the way to rest while keeping items nearby until I have the strength to use them again. Table is exactly as described, arrived quickly and was relatively easy to put together. I'm especially impressed with the company's customer service when I had questions later, they were responsive and helpful; I recommend them highly. I'd very much like to request a future version of this table with larger/longer table top option for king/queen size vs. same size for twin/double. The current one-size top means larger beds have more side space that's just poles with no table surface: a bigger table option for larger beds would solve this nicely. In the meantime, I'm delighted with both this purchase and this company; and I look forward to the hope of future/larger versions of this table, I'd definitely buy from them again if this became an option.

Easy to assemble.
by Richard G. Reed (5 out of 5 stars)

Very easy to assemble. Fits over my queen size bed. Rolls the whole length of the bed with ease. I have a deep pile carpet, and sometimes it will not roll evenly. The knobs stay tight, so there is no wobble. I am going to have a long recovery after heart surgery. I have my computer setting on the table and a bed wedge pillow. Every thing seems very squared away. I thing this bed table is worth the money.
