First thing, is the weight of this. It is the perfect "heft" without being too heavy or too light. Magnets are a great improvement over the previous pin design. This new design will not ruin your shirt or costume. I know other reviewers have said that the magnets are weak, but to me they seem fine. Maybe if they added a third magnet users would not be able to "open" the badge. Two magnets seem good, three would be very strong. Who knows maybe QMx listens to users. I do love the quality of the products from QMx. Get yourself a bit of Star Trek history with these Beyond badges.

This is a decent badge, but the gold color is nowhere near as good as it looks in the picture. The gold on the actual badge is very close in color to the silver border. It's VERY dingy in appearance. If that's what you want then this is for you. I guess I'll have to paint mine gold in the center.

Needs stronger magnets

My only real complaint is that the magnet isn't strong enough to reliably hold the insignia on anything thicker than a shirt. I bought this to replace the pin version on my leather jacket and the thing pops off way too easily. Luckily, I've been able to retrieve both the insignia and the backing when it happens, but one day my luck will run out.

I was a bit nervous ordering this because I saw several reviews that said the magnets weren't very strong, and the dress I'm putting it on is made of a thicker material, but it worked perfectly! It looks really legit-the insignia sits almost completely flush against my dress and looks like it was made to go on it. I can't stop staring at it! I feel like a legit member of Starfleet.

It was a little difficult maneuvering it to where I wanted it to go, but once I got it there, it didn't budge unless I pulled the magnets apart.

The detailing and metallic finish on this gorgeous. It's got weight to it but isn't heavy enough to tug your shirt out of place. As long as you're not going to try to wear it on anything thicker than a heavy t-shirt type material, the magnetic backing should work fine.

This should be in every Trekkie or Trekker's Collection. The badge is well made and and the magnetic back is strong. The price is right in the ball and I would honestly pay a little more for the quality. QMx nailed this prop.

Exactly What I Needed!

I used this to complete a costume and wore it during two long days of a local ComicCon. The magnets were strong enough that it held very well without any unwanted movement. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a non-distuctive piece to complete their costume.
