I was actually very satisfied in the performance of this flint and striker. Works great! I was able to start a fire in 15 seconds..This is my second kit; opposed to the previous style case, this newly redesigned leather pouch is great! Really brings the kit together. Thanks for such a quality piece. I highly recommend this product.

Item arrived without the striker; quality control issue? I'll be returning it...

Update: Upon seeing my previous review Konvoy offered to send a striker and another flint in the burlap bag in order to make it right. I received this promptly. I've changed this from one star to five stars: very nice leather pouch, Items are what I expected and seem to work well. I'm not returning it after all...

This is a great product, it fits in your hand very well and protects your knuckles. The striking surface is very thick and will build hundreds if not thousands of fires. The striker alone is worth the price, it looks had made by a real craftsman. It easily make good sparks.The pouch, flint and char are a nice touch so you can play with it immediately. The char is very good, usually catching the spark on the first or second strike.

Wish I could've received a descent sized stone....

Everything but the English flint stone seems just fine. I opened the package, everything was in there.

I was very disappointed with the stone. It was a 1/4" smaller than an USA quarter. SERIOUSLY. I tried to reach out but no answer. I wish I could've had a decent size piece like the picture shows.

Other than that, the leather case, and everything else was just as advertised!!

I would like to see if they would make it right with me. I wish I could do further business with them, and would like to. We will see. Period

Upon actually seeing the reviews, I am right about the stone. If this company wants to keep its customers happy with their products, please send me the flint stone as advertised!!! Contact me if not!! Thank you Amazon. You always come through on your end!!!!!!

The old, tried, and true way of fire starting is accomplished in this product. Genuine flint, a striker, tinder, and all enclosed in a well built leather pouch. Suitable for outdoorsmen, historical periodic performers, and for anyone just wanting the satisfaction of doing it right. Highly recommended.

Update - KonvoySG has upgraded the leather carrying pouch to fit the striker, char tin, and flint. I am very impressed with the quality of all the items and the attention to detail. The customer relations department deserves a mention also, after my first review they contacted me to ensure my complete satisfaction.

The fire striker is very well made, comfortable in the hand, and throws great sparks every time. The only complaint that I have, is the leather carrying pouch. Although it is a high quality pouch, it is very tight and you are not able to fit a piece of flint comfortably in it at the same time.

If it were more compatible with carrying all fire starting materials, or at least a fair sized piece of flint, I would have given 5 stars.

This is a nice kit. The striker is made of nice carbon steel. The issue I had with this kit is the stone delivered. It didn't have a sharp edge on it. Luckily it is a nice size stone. I ended up having to knap an edge for this kit to work properly. To clarify, the emergency jute tinder comes in a bag form. So, if needed the bag can be disassembled for a nest. The striker showers sparks with a hard sharp edge.

Lovely piece, if a bit initially off putting with the rusty powder in the bag with the striker. I am disappointed as the listing title says it includes the "emergency tinder jute bag", but it arrived with only the pouch, striker, char cloth, and flint. No emergency tinder. The listing should be corrected to accurately reflect that.

Poor quality English Flint

Everything but the English Flint was as advertised. The English Flint had almost half of the flint covered in useless stone, a white material. To break it off you would reduce the flint to too small of a stone to use. The remaining flint edge is rough, not sharp, and not useful. I would like a replacement flint if I can get it.

Rusted, mis-positioned snap closure.

The snap on the leather case is rusted and improperly positioned to close properly. The snap on the body of the case is approximately 1/4 inch to the left of center, whereas the snap on the flap is centered. This causes the flap to lay crooked when you secure it.

The striker is rusted somewhat, but nothing to be concerned with. The leather case is good... other than the snap closure.

The piece of flint is large enough to get a good grip on. There is a sufficient amount of char cloth in the screw lid can.

This would have been a five star review had the snap on the leather case been installed properly and not rusted.
