Heads turned and conversations started...!
by Amazon Customer (5 out of 5 stars)

I'm incredibly pleased with this bag! I just shelved my Tumi and I have been choosing between the Rimowa and this Barracuda. When I saw the price point and the amount of details that went into the Barracuda, I was instantly sold. I just finished my second trip with the Barracuda, and here's a run down of my adventures.

First off, the bag is sleek. I love the way it looks. During my first trip out, I was complimented by another passenger who came up to me and asked if I was carrying the "bag that was on Kickstarer". At first, I was shocked that he knew the brand, but then we had a great conversation about it and I even showed him some of the features that he was curious about. It felt good having a bag that not only looked good but also was a conversation-piece.

The bag has several features that I find myself actually using. For example, when I returned back home from both trips, I was able to unload my bag and immediately collapse it. I even got into the habit of hanging it up in my closet. I would've never dreamed of doing something like that in a million years. You think of luggage, and you immediately think garage or some other storage where the ugly bag is out of sight.

I also found myself using the battery charger quite often. I didn't realize how frequently I am running out of battery. There's a sense of peace when you know you have a backup battery pack to be able to use. I frequently use Uber and after a long flight, I am sometimes low on juice. There have been a few times in the past where I actually had to take a normal taxi cab because my phone died (how archaic, right???). But with the Barracuda, I have a sense of security knowing that I can just plug my phone in and be good.

It's funny how technology tells you what you don't have sometimes. Like I never would've thought that I needed a tray to put my laptop on or to put my drinks on top of. Once you have it, it's hard to imagine going back. I usually always have a water bottle on me, which fits snugly into the Barracuda tray cup holder. That was honestly a pleasant surprise. I was expecting that I wouldn't actually use that feature, but again, technology can surprise you sometimes.

Lastly, the bag itself has ample space for these trips that I take. I don't think it's the right bag for a 2-week trip, but I guess what carry-on is? I found that enjoyed using the laptop sleeve within the front pocket. Another simple feature that I have been without for years! The zippers are nice, they feel real as opposed to my other carry-ons. There are nice touches like this throughout the bag and I was definitely pleased with everything.

I almost forgot about the turning handle+wheels. The two of them together make this bag very smooth! I didn't know if I would like a two-wheeler, but the wheels are clearly very high quality. They glide smoothly on any floor, and with the handle, the bag just flows so nicely. I don't find myself kicking the bag either because the handle allows me to carry the bag slightly to the side.

I will definitely be recommending this to my friends and family. The bag is rugged, so I think this one will last for a while which I'm really happy about. Great bag and thanks!

Perfect for the 21st century traveler
by S.K. (5 out of 5 stars)

I travel quite often as part of my job, and the Barracuda has made a world of difference in the ease of my commute. My prior suitcases and standard carry-ons meshed in with everyone else's, and honestly I was fine with that, until I got the Barracuda. With so many functions that work in their own unique way for me, I truly don't think I could go back to using a regular old suitcase now. I'll speak about some of the key features I use and why going back to a simple carry-on is just not an option anymore.

The in-built lock for example functions fantastic and is an easy and great added layer of security both while traveling and in temporary destinations. On the same note, traveling from city to city for work and staying in hotels, the ability to make the Barracuda compact and hang it in the closet just frees up that extra space so that I don't have to come back to clutter after a long work day.

While hanging in airports for departures or layovers, I have found that I use the in-built laptop tray the most out of any feature. The easy and hidden design of it is perfect and my laptop sits sturdily on it for me to use no matter where in the airport I'm sitting. For me, it provides a lot more comfort and ease of access than just putting the laptop in my lap. The laptop tray also has two cup holders built in which is perfect for when I want to use my smaller iPad to watch a movie and have somewhere to rest my coffee.

The last two features I have found that are vital to my commutes are the in-built battery pack and the swivel handle. There have been so many times when my airport gate is a 20 minute walk away, and swiveling the Barracuda handle to where my wrist is comfortable has truly made me enjoy walking with the suitcase compared to older suitcases that I've owned. And after long and busy days and my phone or laptop draining much of their batteries, the Barracuda's battery pack has saved me on more than one occasion.

All in all, there is just no going back to a regular carry-on suitcase after using the Barracuda. That is the most important takeaway I have discovered for myself, and with all the unique functions which I find myself using during every trip I take, I can definitely say that the Barracuda has successfully driven forward how we use luggage in the 21st century, and that's why I am giving it 5/5 stars.

Great idea, NOT good product!
by Alfredo Gonzalez Linares (1 out of 5 stars)

I just came back for a travel and open my Barracuda yesterday. Not good was missing one of the clips to assemble it!!! As well, the flashlight is not working!

So taking those emotions out I'll write my review:

Pros
- The idea/design: if your think about it; a collapsible, battery included, built-in-laptop table, carry on luggage is the dream for all travelers. But it was just in paper.
- Battery: fully charged will have between 3-5 full charges for a regular phone. Less if it's a pad. It's removable.

Cons
- Not strong materials: Even when assembled feels strong, the plastic seems that it will not hold normal airport/travel life. Especially if you travel in regional planes when you need to vallet check your bags.
- Laptop tray: (for me the worst) great idea, but will not hold a standard laptop! Warning label indicates maximum of 7.7lbs. If you want to watch a movie in your iPad while waiting then it will work just fine. If you wanted to actually send some emails while waiting for your next plane then no. I'll update this review after my first travel. I can't attach a video but an HP 4.5lb laptop practically bent the entire tray. It just will not hold a laptop while you type on it. Do not advertise it as a "laptop tray" with a picture of someone typing on it!
- Handle: even when the ergonomic handle is a great idea, you need to push it down firmly to get it in or out. There's no button to release the handle. Plus it seems week as well.
- Storage space: compared to a Brookstone 20", clearly less storage space.

I'll add comments after my first travel. Hopefully some additional pros rather than cons.

Convenient, Stylish and Practical...LOVE IT!

I used this bag on a couple trips before I decided to write the review and this is what I found.

Pros:

Stylish (It has a very classy look to it, i love the linen finish on the bag)

Sturdy (I was impressed with how sturdy this bag is when you open it from the collapsed state)

Spacious (I packed in atleast 6-7shirts and 4 trousers along with a pair of shoes and toiletry kit)

Ergonomically helpful (The circular handle really helps you maneuver around busy airports)

Strolls super smooth (I was concerned about it having only 2 wheels but no problems whatsoever)

I actually hang it in my closet.(I really do!)

I no longer need to carry a separate Battery Pack (I have forgotten my battery pack at home a million times, so not having to worry about it is awesome!)

I do travel internationally and sometimes I need to check in my luggage, the TSA lock on the bag makes it super convenient to just lock it and check it in without worry about it.

Cons:

I wish they made backpacks as well!

Overall, I love the bag and am considering purchasing a few more for my family members who travel frequently.

Don't waste your money

Loved it at first but I hate it now. The zipper broke after the second trip! It's too expensive of a bag to have a simple problem like that. You can get a repair done through Barracuda customer service but I travel way too much to have time to send it in and wait to get it back. Not to mention the battery takes up a huge amount of space so you can barely fit anything in it. If you need to take 2 pairs of shoes for a weekend trip, you may as well skip over this bag and buy something more reasonably priced. NOT worth it.

Great sleek and very functional luggage!
by Sijo Joseph (5 out of 5 stars)
April 14, 2017

Was waiting for my first use to write the review. Very elegant design with sleek and useful features. Very sturdy frame and design for a collapsible luggage. Assembly was very quick and easy. A great deal of attention has been given to every element of this luggage including the side pockets, zippers, handle and accessories to make it a high end piece of luggage!! I haven't fully utilized the battery pack yet and hence cannot comment too much on it. But well thought out features

The case itself is good and convenient
by Gary H. (3 out of 5 stars)
December 9, 2017

I bought it the end of June - it is now the first of December and the main zipper has pulled apart. I am about to send in for a replacement or refund. The case itself is good and convenient. Only other problem is it should have a handle on the side to get in and out of overhead and off off of baggage belt easier. The table is OK and has proved useful, but it and its zipper look a bit weak.

Absolutely worst luggage ever owned, as a regular traveller.
by Geoff Ramey (1 out of 5 stars)
July 21, 2017

This barracuda suitcase is absolutely the worst piece of luggage I have ever owned. I travel a lot, and have used a lot of luggage. I have only used this one about 4 times, and in that time the lock has stopped functioning (it remains in an unlocked position at all times), the lower front corners are starting to wear through because there are no reinforced corners there, and the zipper teeth are starting to warp and bend because the zipper uses very small low quality teeth.

While the design of the bag is interesting and gimmicky with the laptop tray, integrated battery and so forth - it completely lacks any sort of decent quality, especially in this price range.

Absolutely avoid this barracuda suitcase unless you want it for the gimmicky features and will only use it once a year. If you do any sort of regular travel, you will likely wear it out in just a few trips.

I am in the process of seeking refund, if possible, as I don't believe replacement will be of any better quality based on the shortcomings.
