We love this grill!! It's so convenient to just pull it out of the cupboard and put it on the counter and have it ready to go in just two minutes. Plus, the clean up is so so easy! I wish it got a little bit hotter for quicker grilling, but honestly the convienece of it all makes this grill worth every single penny. I absolutely love how my food doesn't dry out and is so juicy and flavorful!

So simple and convenient and truly smokeless! I'm so glad I got this for my small apartment. I plan to use it a lot in the summer when it's too hot too cook here in AZ! I love shrimp and veggies and even burgers on the grill indoors now!

I absolutely love this grill! It's perfect for those cold nyc winter days. I was impressed by how fast everything cooked. It never dries out the meat! Everything is always super tender and moist. I did lamb chops on it and was blown away by how delicious it came out. I also did shrimp and salmon and it was perfect. The grilling surface is bigger than expected. Clean up is a breeze, the grill and dripping tray come off to wash. It's well made, it uses some type of infrared technology and it heats up quickly. I highly recommend this grill. Looking forward to doing some delicious veggies and burgers soon. -Melissa

I knew when I bought this that it was not going to allow me to cook as much at one time as I typically do on my full-size outdoor grill, and that was fine. I spray the bottom pan and grilling grate with PAM before turning on, which makes clean-up easier when you're ready to clean the grill and put away. Wait about 5 minutes after start-up to place items on to cook and that's it. Any of you that have cooked on a grill know the right color of certain foods to understand when they're done. Just do what you typically do when cooking on the outdoor grill and you're golden.

So I originally bought a "Power Smokeless Grill" from a store (Kohl's) after seeing the infomercial on TV. I think I paid a little over $105 with sale discounts and all, figure it was worth a shot. To make a long story short, I attempted to use that one once and it wouldn't get over 250F, so that one was returned fairly quick.
I then looked at the reviews here on Amazon of the Philips Indoor Smokeless BBQ and the Simple Living model. They both appeared to be similar, but I wasn't willing to pay $80 to $90 more for it. So I gave the Simple Living model a shot. The grill arrived inside a box, inside a box, inside a box, a little excessive in my opinion, but hey it wasn't broken or damaged in any way so I guess I shouldn't complain too much. I unpacked the grill and read the instructions completely (or at least so I thought) and then turned it on. The instructions say to turn it to the warm or standby settings for a minute, then turn it to high for a minute or so before beginning to cook. It also says that it may take longer to get hot the first time you use it. This is true! Wait a good 10 to 15 minutes at least before you begin to cook. It took a good 15 minutes or more for my thermometer to read over 400F.
I cooked some thin sliced chicken breasts first, they cooked fast, and since they were so lean, there was absolutely no smoke. Cooking speed was fast and since there was virtually no grease for fat in the meat, the grill marks were very light as one would expect. After cooking about 3 lbs of meat, I turned it off until dinner.
For dinner I made four nicely marbled ribeye steaks, they were probably about 12 ounces or more each. I used a bit of tenderizer, some seasoning and a little olive oil for flavor and let them stand for 30 minutes or so before cooking. I turned on the grill and let it warm up for a good 20 minutes at least to make sure it was hot. Then I put the steaks on and grilled them about 8 to 10 minutes per side. This got them to an internal temperature of about 150 to 155F with decent grill marks on them. Overall I was pretty pleased. Since this is a "smokeless" grill, you do not get that burned fat smokey flavor that a regular grill does. Maybe if I would cook to a greater degree of doneness, I would have gotten more of that caramelization, a ribeye would be that one steak I might try that with. Flavor was still good though, better than frying in a pan on the stovetop.
I would give 5 stars, but while the grill is good, and I will use it, it just isn't quite hot enough for me. Maybe I expect too much. One thing that I don't think the manual mentioned though is that there is a plastic protective covering on the drip tray. BE SURE TO REMOVE THIS BEFORE COOKING THE FIRST TIME! I didn't and it was a mess to get off. Hope this review helps someone.

AFTER ALL THE REVIEWS NO ONE MENTIONED IF IT WAS GOING TO SPATTER, SO I COOKED QUARTERED BEEF TENDERLOINS ON IT AND NO SPLATTERS! I WAS EVEN READY WITH A SPLATTER COVER - HA NO NEED. WORKS GREAT! I AM LEAVING IT ON MY COUNTER DURING MY SHOULDER SURGERY AND AVOIDING THE OVEN!!

Worked just as described. Have only used it twice so far, and end results were delicious. A little smoke, but not much - kitchen vent pulls it up just fine. Cleanup pretty easy - they don't mention that the inside of the grill needs to be cleaned. Even though the grill and grease tray come out, there are parts inside that need to be cleaned - at least they are easily reachable!

I love how quickly it heats up, its easy to dissemble and clean. The meat cooks quickly, as for chicken- I'd say make sure you do thinner cuts but overall I'm very happy with this grill!

I love this grill! It's so easy to use and doesn't take up much room. I've never used an outdoor grill and now I'll never have to. If you're scared of grilling outdoors with the flames, I'd suggest you get yourself this grill. It's the best things that's happened to me!

I have had this for about a week now and it has not left our kitchen island yet - I wanted to try different foods this week to give it a fair test. I have not tried fish fillets yet, but I have made steaks (twice), hotdogs, hamburgers, brats, salmon burgers, chicken fillets, vegetable kabobs, and even a cheese quesadilla. Everything has been great! It will take a little more time to get the timing down on everything - steaks cooked faster than I thought they would, while the burgers took a little longer. Everything has browned nicely, "grill" marks are attractive, and the flavor is great. I like this better than pan cooking items suck as brats and steaks. The amount of smoke I have seen has been minimal - I have to get down eye-level with it and really look. The non-stick grill rack is so easy to clean. I wipe it down with a paper towel after use and once cooled wash it in the sink - no scrubbing at all. After the steaks, I did have to soak the drip try for a bit to get everything off of it because I did not want to scrub it too harshly and scratch it. You can easily place a piece of foil in the drip tray to help make clean-up easier. The drip tray does get a little hotter than I thought it would, which means that grease will cook onto it a bit after some cooking time, but not hot enough that it burns or smokes. A slightly larger cooking top area would be nice, maybe 9" or 10" rather than 8", but just about every one I looked at has the same cooking area. I have no regrets with this purchase, especially at a considerably lower price than it's competitors. It's been great to grill items indoors since it has been nearly 100 degrees every day here in south Texas.

While I am allowed to have an electric grill outdoors on my apartment patio, I don't have the space inside to store a grill in the winter and didn't want to be bothered with outdoor cleaning, etc. This small grill worked perfectly the first time! Heated up quickly, cooked my boneless chicken thighs marinated overnight in barbecue sauce just fine! Took the advice of another reviewer and sprayed PAM for Grilling on the drip tray before cooking, making it very easy to clean when done. It would be nice if the drip tray could be non-stick like the grill grates (which cleaned up easily as well). You don't get charcoal or gas grill flavor, but it does give you the ability to do shish-kabobs or grill shrimp, and other items which don't do well under an oven broiler. Almost no smoke -- could see only a wisp or two but one of my smoke detectors did go off just as I thought the chicken was done. The BBQ sauce probably caused the bit of smoke. It says not to place it on a granite countertop due to the heat - fortunately I had a large tempered glass countertop protector on the work area of my island already.
