RUINED MY 15" MACBOOK PRO DISPLAY (with Touch Bar)! I've had this case now for approximately two months and had appreciated feeling that my device was protected, despite its bulk, significant weight, restriction of airflow causing a reduction of battery life (more fan use is required to cool laptop).

It looked like the best possible case (most protective) that I could purchase, and after analyzing the reviews on the different 15" MacBook Pro cases, I selected this one. Bad choice. It appears that the bulkiness of the clips holding this behemoth together led to the demise of my MacBook Pro.

The plastic clips that the case uses to hold onto the lower body of the MacBook protrude into the space where the display closes on the computer. I opened it today to see this damage. I can clearly see where the black plastic from this case contacted my display, causing a fracture. Now, vertical and horizontal lines project across my once-beautiful display, and my computer will require expensive ($750-1000) repair. Going to Apple for a quote. Perhaps they'll be more helpful? I'll let you know. I called iBlaison today, and they coldly denied liability, though it is clear that their poor product design has directly damaged my favorite new device. Avoid this company at all costs, and consider purchasing a case directly in the Apple Store, as perhaps Apple would have your back. Either that, or your laptop may be safer without a case at all.

I looked though all the options I could find for drop protection for my MacBook Pro (2018), but there weren't many to choose from.

I waited a month before writing this, so I could get a feel for it.

Pros:
1. It's bulky. Not in a bad way - this adds some 'padding' to the computer.
2. I like the lime green on the outside. That's my favorite color.
3. It protects the back corners better than competitors.
4. Soft neoprene(?) interior helps add protection.
5. Fits pretty good. Maybe a hair loose at the front of the base-- the latch.
6. The top and bottom have a plastic thin sheet that allows the apple logo to show while offering scratch protection.

Cons:
1. It's heavy. I don't mind the added weight and volume, but the screen hinge on the MacBook Pro simply isn't made to cantilever that much weight. If I close my screen ~80%, the weight of the cover is enough to close the lid the rest of the way. I don't like that one bit.
2. The plastic is of questionable quality. I had one of the clips break today ... rear right hand base by the headphone jack.

Notes (neither good nor bad):
1. The latch doesn't firmly latch. It fooled me at first, and I couldn't figure out how to open the lid. It just slides against the mating features when opening.
2. The colored inside shows on the interior around the perimeter. I found it very distracting, and promptly used a Sharpie permanent marker to color it black, which I found worked great to keep it from drawing my attention.
3. The plastic sheet on the top and bottom is removable. I see no reason to remove it, as it acts as a scratch deterrant.

In my video review, I installed the case on my brand new 2017 MacBook Pro and it fit nicely, later saw it could click into place better but no instructions needed.

It always has people asking where I bought the case and makes me look more professional!

I took the plastic covers off that protect the top and bottom of the screen since I also bought the SlickWraps (in blue - not a perfect match in color, of course, but they look great together and probably better that they are not the same color). These two products combine VERY nicely! This case allows me to feel confident when holding my MacBook Pro, especially when picking it up. It fits like a glove!l

I concur with other reviews that the latch thingy is not the easiest to open, but you get used to it and when you adjust your method for opening up the laptop you get over it.

Pay attention to the USB-C access if you decide to get one of those flush mount USB-C hubs out now (such as the Satechi) - you won't be able to use one of those with this (of course).

When I received my 2017 15" MacBook Pro (retna with touch bar) I immediately thought "I need to protect this thing." While the computer is relatively light for its power and capabilities, it is just heavy enough and slim enough and slippery enough to make me constantly worried I was going to drop it. I ordered a "sleeve" first, but it just didn't seem practical: I need a case to perminantly protect the book in and out of a protective cover or bag. I am glad I found this case and appreciate all the detailed reviews of the product. When I received the case I was skeptical that the MacBook would not retain its "slick look" with the case on - and while certainly the look changes with the case, I have to say that the fit and protection is well worth it and not as "bad" as I thought it would be. Putting the case on was a breeze. The fit is exceptional. I would definitely recommend this case to those who are looking for a perminant cover for their computer machine.

Review: Pretty well made and compliments the design of the Macbook Pro. However, it does have some short comings.

On the top half of the case, the matte shield has already become loose at one corner though you cannot tell while it is on the laptop. I can probably super glue it on the inside and no one would be the wiser, but I feel that I should not have to do fixes so early after this purchase. I've not dropped this device even once.

Other: Besides that issue, the only inconvenience is that the design of the case does not allow for double c-port hub adapters to click into place. This means that if you need to hook up your USB 3.0 devices or other cables and your only adapter is a multi-port that requires power from both c-ports, you must first remove the bottom portion of the case. This however is not a selling point of the case and it does not affect my rating for the product, it is just something that is good to know before purchasing.

So I am updating my review to 5 stars.

After I posted my review, I had also sent a message to the seller about the issue. The seller emailed me back less than an hour later, apologized and said that a new case would be sent to me. A few minutes pass, I get another email with the tracking information in it for the new case. So now I have a brand new case to switch my MacBook into, and it only took a few days to get here. Needless to say, I am a very happy customer. I would highly recommend purchasing this case because the seller actually cares about how you feel about the item they are selling you. If there is an issue, they will correct it. A big thank you to the seller for doing business with a sense of integrity!

This case will not withstand the test of time. Let me explain...

I have had this case for a week. I bought the one that fits a 15" Mid-2017 MacBook Pro, Model A1707... The case fits GREAT... I really liked it when it first arrived BUT its now falling apart at the seams. Literally. See where the colored plastic outer piece meets the clear/translucent center piece? It's coming apart where those two areas meet. I have attached pictures so you can see what I mean. I have used the MacBook 5 times with the case on. It's not like we volley the computer around the house when things get dull. The computer has sat on a desk since I got it. The most its been moved is 5 inches to the left or right ON THE TABLE.. It baffles me that the case is already falling apart. I noticed it when my OCD was triggered by tiny dust particles INSIDE THE CASE. It didn't take long to figure out how they got there. The case seems cheaply made or maybe I was just sent a faulty one.

The case will be great when you get it. Enjoy the first week. That's about all you've got before the case slowly starts to self-destruct..

This looks like a piece of garbage. It isn't even good enough to be called plastic. Without a doubt, one of the most misleading product descriptions on Amazon and definitely NOT worth the price. Buy somewhere else

Great Shell for Price!!!

Fits like a glove. I love this shell for my 15" MacBook Pro and is solid protection for my $2300 investment. Installing shell was really easy as it just snaps right on and has enough force to keep it in place. Does not add any weight at all, does not pinch the screen, and closes flush with no gap. Not as hard as some others mention to open the lid when closed. I did however remove the top cover plastic as I wanted that part to eventually add a skin. All USB-C ports are easy to access. All of this combined with great price, fast prime shipping, and a Sunday delivery earned this product five stars. If need be I will buy again.

Plastic separated from rubber on EVERY CORNER.

EVERY SINGLE corner of the clear plastic was separated from the protective rubber. Is that how it's supposed to be?? There were only a few glue spots on each side, holding the clear plastic cover on.... The whole purpose of a case is to keep dust from getting in and scratching the aluminum. I can see how the rubberized part would be shock absorbent, but I can't see this case protecting my $4000 investment from scratches if dust can get in from every plastic corner and scratch it up. I see so many positive reviews! Did I just receive a defective case? I'm so disappointed. ☹️☹️☹️
