Perfect adapter for Switzerland.

While in Lucerne for two days & nights, this little adapter was all we needed. In the hotel bathroom, my wife used both a curling iron and a flattening iron, which are rated for 120/240 volts, plugged directly into the adapter with no problems.

IMPORTANT: Note that this product is an ADAPTER - it only adapts the shape & orientation of the plug pins; it DOES NOT change the voltage from 240v to 120v. Another piece of hardware, a converter, is required for that. If an electric device is rated for 120v only - do not plug that device directly into this (or any) adapter that plugs into a 240v outlet - you must have a 240-to120 volt converter and use one of the 120v outlets on the converter. If a device is rated up to 240v, though, it is safe to plug it directly into the Ceptics adapter.

I also have a 240v-to-120v converter, but it did not have a compatible plug for Switzerland, so I plugged the USA plug from the converter into the Ceptics adapter, and plugged the adapter into the outlet socket in a bedroom wall. All 3 120v outlets and the four USB ports on the converter worked fine - although I never used all the plugs & ports at the same time. Even though this adapter has only one USA grounded outlet (but 2 USB ports!), it is an excellent choice for small 240v devices in Switzerland - or 120v devices if a converter is also used between the adapter and the device.

Worked great for charging by USB ports.

Would not work with my Wife's straightener. It has it's own safety feature that makes the display flash if the voltage is not within certain parameters.

Seemed to put out incorrect amount of power for the hair dryer.

As soon as the dryer was turned on it would not reach full speed on fast and barely made the fan work on low.

Smelled like the electrical components were overheating.

We didn't risk using the dryer after the initial test.

This may have been a local power issue (Port Elizabeth South Africa)

I was happy to have the USB ports work well.

Price and size were deciding factors for the purchase.

This is a perfect adapter for Israel. The USB ports are virtually all you need anymore anyway and you can still add another USB adapter in the plug if needed. A more universal adapter with just the 2 prongs might be more practical as it could be used in Israel just without the ground which is really not needed if USB is the intended use. It does not transform power so be sure that you are using it with devices designed to be used with 220 volts (most electronics have dual 110-220 volt adapters these days).

Great adapter for charging your phone or tablet abroad

I ordered this adapter set because we were going on a river cruise on the Danube. The cruise line told us we needed a certain type of plug for use on the ship. The set came with a variety of plugs. Fortunately, I took the 2 which were similar to the plug pictured in the cruise brochure. We bought a pre-extension package and spent 2 extra days at the beginning of the cruise in Budapest. The plugs in the hotel were not the same as those on the ship, but thank heavens did take the extra similar plug that I took with me. Next time I will take the whole set to be safe. It comes with its own draw string bag and easily holds all the various plugs included in the set. The adapter has 2 USB ports so you can charge 2 cell phones at one time. Please know that none of these plugs can be used for a hair dryer. Products that generate heat require a converter. It is better to use the hair dryers usually supplied by the hotels and the cruise line. This set was great and will serve me a long time as we continue to travel. We received them quickly from the company. They are very sturdy and good quality.

This adapter worked perfectly for my dual-voltage cell phone and camera battery chargers. Because both of those can use the 220 current, this plug adapter was all I needed to charge them up in my hotel rooms. I was traveling light, so I was glad that this adapter is small and compact, and that it could charge TWO devices at the same time. I could plug one device into the electrical outlet portion of this adapter (using my standard U.S. plug) and I could plug the other devices into the USB slot on the bottom of this adapter. IMPORTANT - it has only ONE input for a U.S. electric plug and only ONE slot for a single USB. Also, be aware that it is NOT a surge protector and it is NOT an electric current converter. Your U.S. devices must be dual-voltage capable to be charged up using only this adapter.

This was a game changer for me this summer! My husband and I travelled to Tanzania, Zambia, and South Africa, which meant I had a lot of adapters to bring. FYI - Zambia & Tanzania are the same, South Africa is different.

First, a little bit about our typical usage when traveling. We always take two iPhones, a point and shoot camera, and another tablet or two. I like to dry my hair and use a hair straightener. This trip, we also had a DSLR camera. With all of the devices that require charging overnight and the hair tools I like to use in the morning, we typically have to "schedule" time on the plug adapters like it's some kind of busy corporate executive.

For this trip, I already had adapters for Zambia & Tanzania that were single-plugs only, which meant I needed multiple adapter plugs, multiple US plugs for USB charging, and multiple USB cords. I had a large, heavy bag of items that took up a lot of premium luggage space.

When I got to SA at the end of the trip, I realized I could plug a camera battery charger in and two iPhones all at the same time without any of the American plugs. It took me from 5 plugs & 2 cords (3 adapters, 2 US plugs for USB, and the cords) down to 1 plug and 2 cords to charge the same number of devices! Before I left, I thought this was a nice to have. After traveling for almost a month like this, I now realize these adapter/USB plugs are non-optional.

Do yourself a favor, spend the little bit extra on this and leave several plugs at home. You will not regret it!

Worked perfectly in Israel with my dual voltage hair dryer and flat iron. Our cell phones easily charged with the two USB ports. No voltage converters required for dual voltage appliances or charging our IPhones.

Used this while in Israel to charge a battery pack to give extra phone battery while out all day. A few of the hotels we stayed in had 220/110 outlets where you just flipped a switch to get 110.. Was nice to have this when at hotels without that built in option in the bathrooms. Worked great!

I traveled to Israel and Jordan in January of 2018. This adapter was priced well, convenient, space-efficient, and it worked well, too. I liked being able to directly plug two USB cord and still have space for an outlet for another device (camera battery). Unfortunately, I left it in Netanya about half-way through the trip and realized just how much I liked it. Traveler tip: pack your stuff, and look around your hotel room very carefully.

Worked perfectly. My travel mate had a cheaper adapter and when he plugged his laptop in, it actually tripped the breaker in the apartment where we were staying! Fortunately did not damage his laptop. We plugged a plug in strip into my adapter and ran both of our laptops and charged our camera batteries and cellphones at the same time, with no problem.
