i really like it. it is a fantastic deal for what it is and it is so fun and easy to use. only CON is that the picture/video quality isn't ideal for VR as I think you'd need it to have a 4k camera (or 2 4k cameras). if this had 4k cameras i'd gladly pay 2x as much for it. if all subjects are up close, the picture is fantastic even using a higher resolution VR headset. however, everything in the background seems pretty low resolution. to put it in perspective... the camera on a Galaxy S7 takes very good pictures just using google cardboard camera app. you can see a lot of detail in them when you view those with a VR headset. HOWEVER, those pictures are over 9000x1500 pixels and NOT true 360 degrees. the insta360 air takes a 3000x1500 image and it is truly 360. the problem is that you really see that 1/3rd resolution. edit: 9/21/2017 (original above from 5/2017) After having this and taking it on a few trips, an update is needed. I recently picked up a 2017 gear 360 which has a bit better image/video quality, but seems to have inferior gyroscope ability (if it is even used at all). The insta360 is great for the features in the app and the fun you can have with it. The gyroscope makes it a bit forgiving if you're lost in the moment and forget to hold the camera right. Actually, with the insta360, I can rotate/twist/flip the camera around and it will track properly - the viewer only sees the barely perceivable stitch moving around with my hand movement. For the price, features and gyro, I'd go with the Insta360 again. For better quality of video/pictures, I'd go with the Gear 360. Unfortunately at this time, you're not going to find perfect HD viewing in a vr headset at anywhere near the pricepoint of either of these cameras. In summary, I really like the Insta360 4+ months later and can't wait until they come out with one that has dual 8k cameras :)
I love this camera.

I am very happy with the product. The only thing that keeps it from a 5 star rating is that I experienced a few hiccups. The first glitch I experienced was the device cutting"‹ off after 30 seconds of recording. I missed some great footage because of this and it happened several times on day one of use but seems to have self corrected. The second glitch, which is still ongoing, randomly, but still ongoing, is frame freezes with heavy pixelation at the frame freezes. These problems are fairly small but can be very irritating when you are expecting a clear video. The stills are great!

This doesn't come with shown USB cable for laptop business meeting.
One of the reviews said the micro USB included it, it doesn't!
The product itself, it's ok, drains my battery and makes my phone hot super fast.
Also, I have a ramm and system monitor app and the resources are tapped while using this app.
Going live with this camera will be a short video.
Also the file format is not added to your native photo folder but a completely separate. And comes pre loaded with a bunch of demo videos that are loaded on your phone. AND it will periodically download other user videos and use up your photo space for those.
I'm returning it.
This is not as described.
I'm very upset with this product.
Excellent

Ok, it has a few downfalls (live streaming isn't as easy as it should be, and it's really hard to use my phone upside down), but i love this thing.
Of course, now friends are posting for me to stop posting my little planet / big head photos.
I'll be getting another in a month when I upgrade my phone with a usbc

The pictures are phenomenal!! The 360 view of video and pictures keep everyone looking at it over and over. Ive taken some pics with some unexpected subjects in the outer limits doing some interesting things. Its a new fold to your photo and video archives. Easy to use and gives great results.

This Cam Works Great. I Was Able To Use This With My Android Device And Even On My PC As A Normal Webcam. The Only Real Issues I Have With It Was That It Heats Up When You Use It For To Long(Has A 15 Min Shutoff You Can Override). But I Have Used It Upwards Of An Hour With No Issues. Also The Software For Using It As A Webcam Has A Unregister'd Software Issue, But Is Not Seen In The Final Video.'
The Site Had All The Software You Need To Make/Splice/Edit The Resulting Videos With Ease. And Even The Live Worked On A Standard RTMP Server(In My Case Wowza)
Great product, excellent app - a terrific first VR camera choice.

This is a great product with a nifty impressive app.
Works straight out of the box once app is installed. The camera needs to be 'activated' when you first plug it into the phone. But the app does it by itself so you dont need to do anything.
After that three options to shoot still, video or live stream.
The app also exports choice of animations to convert to for any of the 360 photos for sharing on platforms that dont support vr image viewing. Like whatsapp or email attachments.
Post from the app to various platforms like facebook, whatsapp etc. for sharing.
Had some trouble sharing the video directly onto my facebook feed so had to export as 360 video onto my phone and then post through the facebook app. So that niggle I need to work with. Havent tested streaming at time of writing.
Note for first time VR camera user - This is truly spherical in what it captures. so there is nowhere to hide. Except for a little bit of the hand that holds the phone to click, everything is captured. So unlike regular camera which dont capture you the photographer and whats behind you, this one does. So have to be aware of your own dress and background too.
When shooting in bright sun that is not directly above, make sure the sun is in between the two lenses, i,e. neither lens is looking directly or even angularly at the sun. Thats because there is a slight brightness difference that will show at the line of stitch between the two halves captured by each lens. Indoors or cloudy outdoors this is not a problem.
Enjoy!

I tried my phone and several other phones and still could not get this to work or recognize the device was even plugged in.. I had several back and forth emails with customer service with no success. It appears to be an issue with the On-The-Go (OTG) communication with the unit. It would have been better to have had the unit ship with a Micro USB to USB-C adapter that is known to work.

I love it! I paired this with my Moto X Pure Edition and it works great. There's a few glitches with the software but that's what you get with bleeding edge technology! I've taken some great 360 degree videos and shared them on Facebook and YouTube. Works great! Can't wait for Facebook to allow live streaming with this thing!
It's adorable

Seriously, it's so tiny and cute I can't handle it lol.
But seriously, it does what it says, very compact and lightweight, quality of photos/videos could be better, but as of now this is a good starting point for those trying to get into 360 photography and such :P
Highly suggest you buy a Samsung gear vr fan and an otg cable so you can just use the adapter that comes with the camera.
"Why?"
Well I'll tell ya, it makes your phone run hot (Just like vr) so if you get a fan that literally just lays over the phone and mount the cam, you can record almost 2x longer....which is useful lol.
But all in all I really enjoy this Lil thing :)
