There is no doubt that your Star Wars geek heart will jump when you first open the package. The music, the lights, the design and detail-- all fantastic. But, you'll soon find that the drone itself, again beautiful with similarly impressive controls, will burn out an engine within a few hours (or less) of flight, and you'll find you've no parts or ability to repair it. Then you'll find yourself trying to negotiate a replacement with Propel, who may or may not provide you a replacement (at your cost for shipping and handling), that will then also break in a few more uses, and then, if you're like me, you have cool looking drone in a cooler looking box, that simply doesn't fly. I'd save yourself the fear, anger and hate and avoid this disappointing hassle of a toy.

ok this is a very cool star wars drone made by propel. propel quads are sure better than other manufacturers of star wars drones. while I really like it I have to take a star off because of poor propel quality control, took me buying 3 of these to finally get one that was not defective. The lighted display with sound is the coolest. Very detailed work for a quad to fly and not a collector toy only. I have all 3, while this flies better than Darth Vaders tie fighter, the rebel T-65 fighter fly's and handles the best of all 3.

Not a hobby grade drone

The best part of any of these star wars drones is the unboxing. If your a true fan you will love that experience. For the money especially now that they are on sale you get alot for the 50 some bucks. The quality control is not good. My first one had issues flying. It was un able to fly left or right. I suspect the right gimbal on the transmitter was bad. I returned it and got a replacement. The second one flys ok for what it is. A non hobby grade drone. So the other issue was the replacement came with extra stuff. I got 3 batteries and 5 sets of props vice 2 batteries and 3 sets of props. Not sure but it seems like some of these are used. I may be wrong but I think they are recycling the returns back out for resale. So people my just be buying them for display purposes only so they would never know if it had flying issues. As far as flying it, the locking tab on the batteries are supper tight. If you sort of snap it back and forth a few times before putting into the drone it helps to loosen it up a bit. There are no trim tabs like on hobby grade stuff so there is going to be a little drifting while hovering it. It flys pretty easy and anyone should be able to fly this if they get one with no issues. When turned up this thing is really fast. If your new to this sort of thing brushed motors need plenty of cool down between flights or they will fail quickly. Also make sure that nothing gets fouled up in the props like string or hair if flying indoors of the floor or carpet. Over all Im happy with it and Amazon was great with helping me in returning the defective one.

DOA Controller & Music / Sound failure - No Replacement offered.

I really wanted to like this product, unfortunately I received a DOA controller. While I was starting to pack everything up to return it I had the display playing music. The light started to blink and then it failed. Not too impressed. I wish I could comment on the flying characteristics, the only thing I can say is the detail of the model was O.K. The boxing is nice but they should of spent more on the quality of the hardware and quality assurance. The motors are typical low end brushed. I was hyped up to get it but very disappointed once I did. They would not 'replace' only refund, I will not be purchasing again. Hopefully they will come out with a V2 that is higher quality.

Sold as new! NOT NEW! RIP OFF,Not sealed and missing wax seal. Disappointed original unboxing was performed already. This is my second purchase and I know the difference. IF NEW,The coolest drone you will ever fly. Star Wars and Disney outdid themselves everything is top notch from the box two instructions to the display case 1out of 5 stars normally a great product!! COMMON ISSUE IT SEEMS, BE WARNED

Nice to have one of these drones not defective or missing a part!

For those interested in this item, it seems to be the easiest to control and most agile, quick and fast drone, only flown them a few times and on Training Mode. the only problem about this drone is Propel has made the battery's compartment lock so tight made it extremely hard to open and lock the battery's compartment lock. At times, I just do not use the drone or lock it, because underneath the rider, so does not open.

Mission Failure

I admit as other reviewers have that upon receiving this, opening the box, it is impressive. The sound and box alone are simply amazing. Unfortunately, we purchased this item with my 9 year old son's own birthday money after purchasing the X-Wing which is also pretty cool. We've had this less than 6 months (purchased in June) and 2 months ago the motor on one of the propellers just stopped working. We worked through every possible issue, removed the old propellers, followed the instructions, recharged batteries, nadda. It's done. So our 9 year old who saved up his money to purchase this after being given the X-Wing as a gift is out a speeder bike drone. It was magnificent while it worked, but heartbreaking as a paperweight. If you want a collectible that sits in a box, this is perfect. If you actually want to fly this, don't waste your money. Or if you do, know that it's only going to fly for a month or two. As a side note, we were very careful with this. My 9 year old took it to an open park, never crashed it into anything and overall treated it like a glass egg. It is just not made for more than a few flights.

Gave this as a gift, Finally got to test fly. Packaging and quality are amazing. Needs a very low wind environment due to how light the drone is. A button or switch to power off seems like a major oversight. Powers up when battery snapped in. Interesting experience is that when prop guards are on and you end up on a roof(x2).. You can take off. Finding instructions for adjusting hover difficult to find. Controller is very high quality. When I visit other son I'll get to fly the x-wing. Also batteries are proprietary and I do not see any way to purchase extra batteries as time goes by and batteries fail

PRODUCT WAS USED AND NOT NEW AS ADVERTISED. REASON I KNOW THIS IS I BOUGHT ANOTHER TYPE FROM A GAME STORE AND IT WAS BRAND NEW AND KNOW HOW IT LOOKED LIKE OR WHAT CAME WITH IT. THIS PRODUCT'S WAX LOGO SEAL ON OUTER BOX WAS ALREADY TAMPERED WITH-UNSEALED. REVEALING GLASS CASE, HAD A LOT OF FINGERPRINTS ON IT. CHARGERS AND CABLES HAD NO PLASTIC OR ZIP TIES TO IT ANYMORE. TRAINING CAGE ALREADY BROKEN. FALSELY ADVERTISED AS NEW WHEN IT USED AND ALREADY BROKEN!!!

FORCE YOURSELF TO BUY A DIFFERENT DRONE!

I have bought two of these things in the last month! One that worked beautifully for 4 weeks until an engine died and one that absolutely will not take off. The propellers spin but it will not leave the ground. I give up. At this amazing price, I wasn't expecting much and was absolutely thrilled when the first one I purchased actually flew beautifully. The second one would not even fly at all.... let the buyer beware. I pity the fool that paid the original $199 asking price for this!
