This is a great tool! Makes decorating much easier than using fingers or a spoon. It does require practice to get the hang of it - I did about two dozen cookies to get the feel and angle right. Then, decorated about ten dozen cookies, it definitely made things move along more quickly and they looked great!!

It is easy to fill and clean up. A recommendation I will make: keep your old sugar containers once they are empty. Wash them and reuse them. That is the reason for the four stars, you can't buy extra refillable jars. I buy sugar in many colors; not just from Wilton. Less expensive that way.

This is a great tool for a baker's arsenal!

The first time I used it the sugar just poured out, but then I read on the product site that the pen is to be held parallel to working surface. I was holding it perpendicular. I highly doubted Wilton would sell a product without extensive testing. I would recommend more precise instructions if anything.

The paperwork inside the package says not recommended for kids younger than 8. I wish that would have been in the description because I would not have bought 2. My 5 year old granddaughter can't use it because her hands are too small. It dispenses too much at a time. A smaller hole would be better for more control. Not good for writing on small items.

Did not come with the container shown..instead it was a short round container that does not hold as much sugar and is different from the rest of my set

Doesn't work like I thought it would... It had a battery and there is a button to push but the sugar just pours out whether you push the button or not.... I thought there would be more control
