From the BMC Toys AMERICAN HERO COLLECTOR SERIES, the most iconic moment from the Pacific War theater: The Battle of IWO JIMA 32 piece plastic army men set features 6 Marines raising the American flag on Mount Suribachi, plus 19 different figures including 12 United Stated Marines in olive drab and 14 Japanese Soldiers in tan.

Made from fairly stiff, very durable, polypropylene plastic with excellent detail and almost no flashing, figures stand up to 2.45 inches tall and are about 1:32nd scale. These figures were adapted from original designs of fine metal miniatures and are officially licensed by King & Country.

BMC Toys was founded by Bill McMaster in 1991 and specializes in producing historically accurate plastic army men figures and playsets in the classic style of the 1950s and 1960s.

Packaged in polybag with header card and recommended for ages 5 and up. This color assortment is new for 2017 and features all new header card art.

The guys holding the flag are so well done it's hard to believe it's a toy. It looks good enough to put on display even though it's plastic, and I do have it prominently displayed on a bookshelf in my son's room. My son likes the variety of positions, especially the guys lying down. I like the historical background, and the fact it's not 90 little soldiers in a bag. This is a manageable amount of soldiers for a parent to deal with in their kid's room, with enough variety for good play. I gave it to my son along with the BMC WW2 D-Day Plastic Army Men (34 pieces American, British, Germans) for more variety and some different colors. Also a TimMee Toy Walker Bulldog TANK Playset-Olive (all found on Amazon). This has been satisfying enough for the average kid who likes army soldiers but doesn't pursue them as a hobby. His little sister likes to play with them too. And we were able to talk about the difference between D-Day and Iwo Jima.

Used as a cake topper

My 11 year old nephew asked for a raising the flag cake for his birthday. I looked all over for a replica I could afford and this was the only one I could afford. I wanted to get him something nice he could keep but these things are really expensive. So I went with this and made a cake that looked like Iwo Jima island complete with the dormant volcano. He loved it! I could not believe how real the men looked. There were many soldiers from each side. I gave him the ones I didn't put on the cake and he played with them almost immediately. His friends loved his cake too! This is the best set for the money for anyone looking for anything Iwo Jima.

Toy Soldiers

These are sturdy and decently detailed toy soldiers. They came in tan and green colors. The package contain a small representation of US Marine and Japanese troops that fought each other on Iwo Jima. It even contains a symbolic flag raising that took place during the battle. Overall a good value and the pieces are not too large.

Hello I am a 11 year old boy and this is great! The marines look like marines and the Japanese look like Japanese. Also you also get a man in a seperate bag and he is armed with a bazooka and the men hoisting the flag are very accurate. The Japanese commanders also have sameri swords! This is great!

I just ordered this and two other items for Christmas. First, they arrived fast! Second, the quality is great! To be honest the pics dont do it justice. They actually look cheaper made in the pics but in person they are really nice. Will be coming back for more products for my son.
