USB cables don't fit

I had great hopes for this device since it is General Electric product. Upon receiving this device I installed it where I wanted it, it plugs into the wall outlet without a problem. However, I tried 3 different USB cables and none would fit into their proper place no matter how hard I tried. The same 3 USB cables however fit into other USB outlets just fine. Also, there is no way that 6 two-prong plugs can fit this device. The only way it works is to use one in the top row and two in the bottom (or vice versa).

I like that it is made especially to be plugged in behind the appliance and they have an audible alarm instead of lights, which would be useless. I recently had an issue with the sub-system that switches on the compressor. It failed, possibly due to surges form the thunderstorms in the Central Florida area. It was probably a $20 part, but the labor costs brought up the repair to $200. I hope to not have that issue again. I'll update the review if there's anything more to share.

Pricey but worth it

Good: UL listed, which is important because there have been reports of other, unlisted units smoking or outright catching fire. Seems sturdy. Outlet and jack spacing adequate for most any plug and slim wall transformers. USB side charges phones and such reasonably quickly without getting warm.

Bad: A bit top-heavy; might not stay in a loose outlet. Relatively high-priced overall, maybe average among UL-listed units. Would have preferred a model with USB-C and rapid charging, but I knew up front this doesn't have those so not a big deal.

Bottom line: I threw out the two cheap adapter/chargers I had when I read about the overheating hazard, and replaced them with these. I now have four. Five stars.

So far so good. I bought this to use with my portable air conditioner and haven't had any issues yet since installing it. It would be nice if the design was a bit smaller/flatter, but I'm willing to compromise design aesthetics for the sake of keeping expensive devices safe. I haven't had any major thunderstorms or electrical issues since buying, but a $10 preventative measure is worth the investment in my book. If anything does happen as a result of this device's success or failure, I will make sure to update my review. Blessings!

Works as it is supposed to. "Protected" lamp does not bother me at night. Super-important for me is the Underwriters-Laboratory (UL) approval. I don't want an unsafe product; I am willing to pay more rather for a known brand than getting the cheapest made. Would buy again. Note, turns two wall outlets into three. It's a bit bulky.

Condenses my powering situation!

After getting an Apple Watch, I wanted something with USB ports so I wouldn't need a bigger power strip for my nightstand lamp, my clock, my cordless phone, my cell phone and my Apple Watch! This works! And the 2.4 amp each works well at charging my devices quickly. It just fits in my bedside outlet and I pay no attention to the blue light when going to sleep - doesn't distract at all.

Compact and Effecient

I like these plugs. They don't overwhelm your electrical socket as some of the bigger ones do and they are able to power quite a bit of electronics at once. The only downside is it has an annoying blue light on the side. If you use it near your bed you will need to cover it with a piece of tape or something. Not sure why the light is there. It would be great if they could get rid of it.

So far they're okay. at $3 and change each I went ahead and bought 3 if them. The downside is there's no reset button or switch so I think it's garbage if it gets tripped. Plus I just realized they're slow charge ports so I might return them. I do like that it doesn't block the top outlet.

Solid build and it looks great

It has surge protection and USB ports, and fits securely into an existing outlet without having to even remove the faceplate. And it looks sleek and modern! Exactly what I was hoping for. And it's got a very solid build. The USB port powers a Qi wireless charging plate for my iPhone so it's got plenty of power for that. Completely happy.

I purchased July 19th and my phone along with other items to charge through the mix thing stopped charging. No storm to cause any issues. No reason. It just stopped but my lamp plugged in was ok?? Would like a replacement or refund thank you
