How to make green Matcha tea with a Japanese tea ceremony chasen bamboo whisk?
To make Matcha green tea, put half a teaspoon of powder in a cup. To get a better consistency you can use a sieve for seeding tea powder. Pour hot (175°F, not boiled) water (approximately ¼ cup), then whisk with the special tea bamboo whisk until a small amount of foam appears.

Have made matcha tea in the past, but with the whisk, the matcha tea quickly and easily dissolves.

The set arrived well-packaged and within a few days of ordering. I ordered the brown bowl, which I love. The outside of the bowl has a nice feel to it, slightly textured; the inside of the bowl is finished with a smooth glaze, which helps the chasen (whisk) to move easily. The chasen holder helps to keep its shape.

A wonderful set that serves a great starter for a burgeoning matcha lover like myself; this set has created a wonderful morning tradition for me now. I hope to have mastered the Tea Ceremony with these simple implements by the end of the year, and then will probably progress to more refined (expensive) ones.

I bought this for my daughter as a gift, like me, she enjoys making green tea from good quality matcha. The wisk is great, froths up the tea nicely and the ceramic holder is nice for storing and keeping the whisk in shape and drying properly, the ceramic bowl is just the right size and weight and looks great too.

Wellllll, I was going to give this to my son for Christmas, however, they shipped the set in the actual box. So when I tried to remove the address/shipping label, the entire top of the box ripped off. Not cool. It looks like junk. Now I'm trying to figure out how to repack it as a gift...

This was my first matcha kit and as far as I can tell, every piece does exactly what it should do. This does not include any matcha, so you'll be on your own to find some. Try to find some good ceremonial matcha, not the cheap cooking grade stuff. Trust me on that one, it really does make a difference when making traditional matcha.

I love my Matcha Start Up Kit. The Bowl is beautiful and the little spoon for dipping the tea from is sturdy. But perhaps my favorite part is the Whisk for making the froth as when I use it, its more of a meditation
