Nice idea but...

First of all, I have never put together a toy with worse instructions. It took two college-educated adults and a six-year-old almost an hour to figure out what went where and how. Secondly, the nano worked reasonably well for about an hour and then performance became erratic. We thought it might be battery issues. The idea was cute and entertained our grandson for a while, but I don't think it will last either performance- or interest-wise. Having a rechargeable battery would help, but it wouldn't completely salvage our response. I expected better, as the toy was displayed in the local Museum of Science. I won't buy another Hexbug product.

Cool little Hex bug set, but watch the tabs on the elevator, they snap off with ease and are really hard to glue back on. at this point the kid just pushes it up from under so the bug cant really get into the elevator anymore.

Pro:

Cool set neat featuers

Bugs move well on tracks and down zipline

Con:

Elevator tabs snap off with ease.

Got this as a gift for my 7 year old. He was able to assemble it himself. It is nice that it coordinates with other hex bug products and the pieces can me changed around easily to make different configurations.

I would recommend this set to any kid with an interest in STEM! I think that it is so cool that the Space nano can find its way though the set, even going down the zip line on its own with it's nifty backpacks! They give you extra backpacks too in case you lose one. Pretty awesome design and really fun and fast to build.

I think it is a 4 because my 6 yr old enjoys it, but my grandson would give it a 5. He loves zip lines and thinks it is so fun to have one on this toy. It attaches to his discovery set easily. Is easy to work and sturdy so far. He has had it 3 or 4 weeks now and plays with it often so we are happy.

G-kids had hours of fun with this (and I had fun too). Minor issue in that occasionally the hex bugs get stuck in a loop. The zip line works well.

My boys (age 6 and 9) LOVE Hexbugs and this is great addition to their collection, they can spend ours playing with it! And our cat love to play with these little bugs too :)
