Product Description

Protect your Investment

Daily use of your mobile device can cause unsightly scratches, dents, and other unwanted damage. Within a few months, the screen will be difficult to read; the device will decrease in resale value and be embarrassing to show other people. Lower-quality disposable screen protectors seem like a temporary solution for keeping your device looking brand new; though they need constant replacements.

The Only Screen Protector You'll Need

With this problem in mind the founders of Skinomi set out to create a screen protector that's tough, reliable, and long-lasting. Their solution was the Skinomi TechSkin.

Made of a thermoplastic urethane film that is designed to resist abrasion, the TechSkin Google Pixel 2 XL Screen Protector provides impact absorbing military-grade protection for your device. The protector is UV resistant, HD Clear, and goes on invisible. A smooth texture and feel makes it easy to navigate your device as if there was nothing applied. The flexible high-grade film is formulated to be "self-healing" which makes it able to stretch, absorb, and even repair scratches and impact damage.

Lifetime Guarantee

We're so confident that you'll love the TechSkin that every Screen Protector comes with a 100% Risk-Free Lifetime Replacement Warranty. If the Skinomi TechSkin wears off, we will replace it.

Rock on Skinomi -- heart you to death!

I have been using this screen protector for about two weeks now, and, paired with a Caseology Vault case, I could not be happier for my needs and preferences. I feel my phone is very well protected now and both products are high quality.

I'm a long-time skinomi user, and I can tell you that most of the negative reviews here are due to people not following the instructions carefully and allocating enough time to do the job right. They either do not apply well, or do not wait at least the minimum time (AT LEAST 5 hours) for it to cure well. The company is based in the USA, these are made in the USA, and they stand behind their products.

Contrary to some people's beliefs, these plastic screen protector films (the quality ones like skinomi) offer AT LEAST as good of overall protection as most tempered glass ones AND, IN ADDITION, if you drop your phone, they are not likely to crack and require another screen protector install. And most scratches self-heal over time, especially the common superficial ones. And the finger slideability, come on, how slick do you need it, in day-to-day regular use, this is a complete ZERO issue. Very touch sensitive and not much friction at all.

To each their own though, but to me, quality laminate, like this, overall, wins out to most tempered glass ones, and almost always if the tempered is restricted to the same price range. It is important with ALL screen protectors to order one that is "case friendly" if you plan to use a case (which you should be using unless you are wealthy... even then, why not... never good to waste money when there are people starving in the world!).

    Finally one that works

This is the third screen protector I've tried for the pixel 2 xl. I wanted a glass protector, but the one I tried, even though it was supposed to fit on the flat part of the screen, still hung over the curved bit and just looked funny. Which is a bummer with such a pretty phone. I also tried a different plastic brand, and it was ok but either had flaws in it or I got some dust in in spite of following all the directions to avoid dust. This screen protector is the first I've been able to apply properly (maybe because I have more practice!). I applied it last night and it already looks great, very smooth and clear, no bubbles and the surface is smoother and less rubbery than some other brands I've tried. It also, so far, fits with a case without peeling up on the edges. (I have the case compatible version). It looks and feels almost like having no screen protector. It might not give as much protection as glass, but since what I'm really looking for is protection from scratches putting it into a bag or pocket, this is enough.

TL;DR complete junk, anyone that buys this I have a house in Alaska for you to buy, you have been warned

a Ziploc bag protects better, and frankly feels better (a perfect match in quality frankly). if you have any length fingernail or even a stylus, DO NOT BUY. the film makes any finger with .01 moisure just skip along the screen like a rubber mat on another rubber mat. as I'm typing this, I'm feeling that my very short nails are sticking into and leaving imprints on this joke.

after buyin of all types of screen protectors over many years (~20) and many devices this has to be the worst, I don't even want to bother with a refund or exchange, I want it off my device, but I has to stay on until I order something else from a brand I know, and trust.

pro?:covers the screen.... and part of the front camera and bottom speaker with it's ...cutouts?

cons: too many to list all. feels like it should be a slip resistant mat on the bottom of the device instead, super flimsy, distorts and wrinkles screen (like looking though a 100 year old window), picks up ANY impressions from ANY object with any edge (my trimmed fingernail edges are marking this screen up horribly right now typing this.)

it's just awful. I've purchased cheaper screen protectors for my last device, and it's been on and unmarred for 2 years (second one is still in it's box). I can't stress any more. this film is utter trash.

my first impressions while putting this mess on were right, but I gave it well past it's 24 hour curing time. it's messing up my Swype typing so bad I don't think it will make it another 24 hours.

oh wow the q,w,e,s,comma keys on my virtual keys show many impressions per key from typing this. junk! junk! junk!

It worked! Pleased. Just 2 days into it.

My existing screen protector (Tempered Glass HD Protective Film) was working just fine with Speck Presidio Grip case. The film approach allowed it to work with the phone's curved edges. However, I switched to the Otterbox Defender for better protection and I had a lot of touch-sensitive issues.

After reading a number of reviews, mostly positive but some users indicated that they had problems with the installation, I decided to take a chance. I followed the instructions in the video very, very carefully. Including letting it set for 24 hours if possible (I made in 20 hours). During the installation there was one small bubble, and to my surprise it really did go away after the 20 hour wait. At this point there is an extremely small "imperfection", The imperfection is only visible when the phone is off and you hold it up to bright light and tilt it just right. If you didn't know it was there, you truly would not notice. The reality is that it is no worse than the little specks of dust that you get during the day and it is absolutely invisible when the phone is in use (even when you hold it up to the light and tilt it just right). The screen protector on my wife's Samsung was professionally installed and mine DIY is just as good (the Samsung also has an "imperfection"). If my experience changes after more usage, I will provide an update.

    Sticky Feeling and Thin
by Erin (3 out of 5 stars)

First off, I want to say I believe most the reviews on here are fake. No way there are that many "wonderful" and grammatically correct reviews.

The screen took about an hour to install. I watched the youtube video that explains it. You have to use the liquid in the box to wet your screen, fingers, and both sides of the film. It will slide around for a while, so easy to line up. When you squeegee out the bubbles, it'll start to stick. You have to wait every 10-20 minutes and try to push down the edges so they don't bubble up. Mine was pretty usable after an hour or two.

I don't notice an image quality difference really. My biggest complaint is when I drag my finger across my screen, it feels gel like. Even 24 hours later. You can make an indent with your fingernail on the screen and it will slowly form back to normal. My finger nail gets snagged as I try swiping across the screen every so often. I have no idea if or how this would protect my screen if I dropped or hit the screen on something, since I can easily make indents with my finger on it. It will have to do for now until I can get a good quality tempered glass protector.

    Better than tempered glass.
by Jon B. (5 out of 5 stars)

I used to use glass screen Protectors on my older phones but now with phones starting to curve the glass, tempered glass Protectors have become very annoying. First, they only ever have the adhesive around the outside anymore which doesn't stay on the curved screens very well. The glass sticks up so far there is a harsh edge, the mide settles towards the phone screen and forms a rainbow smudge right down the middle, the curved edges are prime areas for breaking screen Protectors. With these wet application screen Protectors all of those problems are gone. Adhesive is everywhere the screen contacts the protector like it should be. The screen protector easily wraps around the edge and hugs the glass phone screen. No visible distortion of the screen after a day of settling and drying. And last, the protector is never going to crack, and will spread the shock of a fall and absorb it better than tempered glass. After a while you get used to it and it feels just like the glass of the phone. The one downside is that the application is more tricky. If you don't get it perfect the first time, then every time you remove it and restart you have a greater chance of dirt getting under the screen protector.

Okay but not great protection like tempered glass would be. But a great buy for the price.

It's definitely not as protective as tempered glass. Just purchased as temporary screen protection until I can order a glass one that is ready to ship. Instructions provided on card and especially on YouTube are very good. I do not understand the complaints about it not installing well. If you take the time to follow them the application goes well. Very well as a matter of fact. So all I can say is take the time to read installation instructions fully? And after a day of curing it looks smooth as black ice in my case. (Yes, I waited a good amount of hours before I placed it in the case. ) Okay but not great protection like tempered glass would be. But a great buy for the price and you get two. Good luck finding quality tempered glass for the same price. Plus they are made in the USA so that's a big plus.

I need to apologize to the patient customer service girl I talked to about the cutouts being wrong on the film. The cutout underneath the top speaker personally irks me but apparently Skinomi isn't the only manufacturer doing this. What makes it more confusing is different companies are doing have different cutouts. No idea what that is about.

Great quality, thick film screen protector. Let dry for a day to get fully clear before judging.

This is the third Skinomi product I've purchased and the quality is excellent, much thicker than any others I've used yet doesn't interfere with touch. Also my nails don't slice into the film like the Zagg shields. I've installed about 1,000 similar screen protectors when I worked at Geek Squad, the only problem is the same with all soft film screen protectors and that's edge adhere (aka HALO). Even after massaging and stretching it over the curved sides/corners it was extremely difficult to get it to stick down. Hard film (dry install) actually have glue, the liquid included with the soft film is just soapy water like you would use installing window tint. It would be great if they included something a little stronger to touch up the edges and get them to stick down. Something to note, it gets crystal clear about 24 hours after installing, before then it looks distorted/hazy.

    Surprisingly Good
by Amazon Customer (5 out of 5 stars)
    November 3, 2017

I had purchased this as an 'in-between' for offering protection on my Pixel 2 XL until a decent tempered glass cover was released - however, after having it on for a few days I'm going to stick with this as I've really grown to like it. I really like the texture, and what I thought was a gimmick for the 'self healing' nature has shown to actually work. What happened is that I put it on following the directions, but hadn't got rid of a couple of liquid bubbles before letting it sit overnight. I noticed them the next day at work, and basically scraped them (without using the microfiber cloth) using a credit card, which definitely showed some marking on the skin. I planned on going home and reapplying the fluid to peel it off & reapply, but by the time I got home not only had the bubbles disappeared but so had the marks I had put into it.

I gotta say I'm shocked at the performance of this screen protector. This is also the first one that I have put on a device in a really long time to have the first one go on without getting lint underneath and ruining the application. Highly impressed, would recommend!

    Blurry lines
by anthony (3 out of 5 stars)
    November 14, 2018

I usually have really good luck with skinomi, and had one on my previous pixel 2 xl before warranty.

I had to replace the screen protector and decided to go with the skinomi again. The installation is pretty much the same as any other wet application screen protector and it went on fine. However on BOTH screen protectors after the film and everything dried, there were lines going vertically down one half of the screen. First screen protector was on the right side, and replaced that one with the 2nd and now it's on the right. The opposite side is just perfect.

This doesnt effect the touch or performance but anything white shows blurry.

I've done HUNDREDS of wet applications as I've worked mobile retail for almost 5 years, so I'm no stranger to installs.

Unsure if I've just gotten part of a bad batch or what.
