Terrible product

I was so disappointed in this product. I thoroughly research everything I buy, and after my purchase of a Samsung Note 8 costing megabucks, I wanted to protect my investment and was willing to spend money doing it. My last phone had dropped, and the screen had cracked, and I didn't want that to happen again. Browsing through the overwhelming number of cases and screen savers was time-consuming, and there were many reports of screen savers not fitting with cases, and vice versa. I took notes, I narrowed my selections down, and then I came upon not one, but two reviews where people mentioned that the Zagg glass screen saver fit with one of the cases I'd been looking at (a Spigen Tough Armor). There were few, if any, reviews of this new glass, because the phone had not come out yet, but I was able to read reviews of other Zagg products. It looked like a company I could trust. So I ordered it. I believe at the time it was $49.95, but I'm not sure. The price has come down since.

It looked fine after applying, but I noticed right away that touch sensitivity was way down. It was very hard to text and to play games. I figured that was the price I had to pay for good protection. However, within six weeks, the shield popped off, and I managed to stick it back on, and then overnight the glass broke in my pocketbook. I didn't even drop it! This is a product that supposedly has been tested extensively.

When I went to the Zagg site, I saw that I could have a replacement shield sent, but it would cost me $9.99 in shipping. I didin't want to pay that, nor did I really want a replacement. I saw from the recent reviews that many people had reported the same problems. But I was able to make the return through Amazon, for which I'm very grateful. The third party seller was prompt and considerate with my request. I didn't even have to return the item. As of now, I've ordered a less-than-$8 package of film screen savers that I hope will provide some protection.

Loss of touch sensitivity / Cracked with 1st drop

I have always bought InvisibleShield Glass screen protectors and been impressed with them. For the Samsung Note 8, I bought the higher end InvisibleShield glass screen protector that was supposed to be better at protecting the EDGE and so forth. Not so much. The biggest problem (which I have found with many screen protectors for this phone) is that the display sensitivity at the edges is very impaired with this screen. In fact, there are certain apps that are useless due to this issue. And, it didn't stand up to cracking any better than cheaper screen protectors. Granted the Edge feature of Samsung's phones is problematic when it comes to screen protection. I am not a fan of the EDGE feature, but love Samsung phones otherwise. On my Note 8, the phone dropped and a corner of the screen protector was crushed and then cracked and now it is all the way across the screen. I am just going to have to lay in a stock of cheap screen protectors (ones that don't impair screen sensitivity) and replace as needed until I purchase another phone. Hopefully Samsung will come to their senses and do away with the EDGE feature. When they do, I'll go back to the InvisibleShield Glass screen protectors.

Worst Zagg product ever
by DaddyOh (1 out of 5 stars)

Our family has been a loyal Zagg customer on multiple Android and Apple phones for years. However this is a defective product. Major touch issues and has unsightly lines in the design where the curves are. This product is not ready for prime time and is killing Zagg's stellar reputation. Only good part was install was not difficult.

Terrible!

No adhesive other than left and right side edges.

Dust and dirt enter through top and bottom easily.

Touch sensitivity is terrible everywhere except the two sides where the adhesive is.

Middle sensitivity is atrocious.

Since there is no contact with the screen, it's also super fragile.

Mind cracked after 3 days and wasn't even dropped or hit. I baby my phones.

The only good thing is that Zagg makes some of the BEST glass there is for screen protectors.

Are my steadfast and thorough reviewers still here?

Good.

Here's a treat just for you, but shhhhhhh...:

Buy it here for cheap. Yes. I said buy it. Register it online with Zagg, then file a warranty claim. Select the ELITE as the replacement. That's the one with FULL screen adhesive, and it's absolutely amazing!

You'll only have to pay a few bucks for shipping. Or, call customer service and complain about how terrible your screen protector is. Tell them how much you love Zagg products, and how sad you are that your screen protector broke. Mention that you're super disappointed and you'd hate to leave them a bad review. They just may mail it to you free of charge (hint hint, they will). The Elite is $50.

Zagg may, or may not, ask you to return the old one.

Read all the reviews and do the math. Don't bother to return it to Amazon. Shop smart, my peeps.

IMHO not the greatest, but probably not the worst

1 Easy to install

With that said, not all is well in the land
1 Have to use more pressure to activate icons
2 Loss of touch sensitivity
3 Glass is highly reflective
4 Looks like dust may get in around the edges, could cause problems with adhesion
5 Longevity remains to be seen
6 $30.00 is a lot of money for a glass screen protector, that might not last, then on top of it if it does break I will have to pay an additional charge for something that has a lifetime warranty
7 the icons on the edge of the screen seem to be the least sensitive and take greater effort to touch activate

Could be better for the money

don't waste your money

WASTE OF MONEY, it broke so easily I don't even know how it happened. Only lasted a couple days. Zagg replaced it and I tried to be more careful. That one lasted about a week. Total garbage.

Garbage = should be about a -5 rather than a 1

This screen protector was easy to install in the proper location, but it never sealed properly to my phone. I've installed probably 50 screen protectors between work and home, and this one is easily the worst one. It was coming off the screen within 12 hours of it going on, and by the time it fell off most of the way, it was only typing about every 3rd character. However, the absolute worst thing is that the seller does not accept returns, even when the item they sell is defective. What kind of trash is that? I might have to have my credit card dispute the charge because this thing is so bad.

Not as good as other Zagg screen protectors
by Marc B (1 out of 5 stars)
February 10, 2018

Zagg has not done as good of a job with this screen protector as they did with the one for the Samsung Galaxy S7. the adhesive is on the sides nothing in the main screen so the protector doesn't hold well. The applicator is nice to make sure the screen protector is centered. I ended up returning the screen protector it started to raise up in the corners and came off the phone after that it would not stay on the phone as it should. Over all I am disappointed with it and surprised that it not as good as the Zagg screen protector I had for my previous phone.

Shield desensitizes screen to touch input
by Our Family (1 out of 5 stars)
January 23, 2018

Once again, Zach comes thru with a wonderfully packaged and documented product. Installation was a snap with clear instructions and installation aids, and the product fit as advertised. Unlike our previous experiences with InvisibleShield, however, we noticed right away that the Shield left our phone screens desensitized to our touch input, especially when tapping, which now requires a serious impact to get the screen to register the input. This effect is universal across the screen, but is noticeable ESPECIALLY near the edges. One must push VERY HARD to input anything in the neighborhood of screen edge. This is a serious detracting factor, as protection should not interfere with performance.
