Product Description

"Yakuza 6: The Song of Life is the final odyssey for long time protagonist Kazuma Kiryu, so it's only right that we send him off with our first-ever Yakuza premium edition. The ""After Hours Premium Edition"" contains all the right tools to loosen up after a long day of living up to the nickname ""The Dragon of Dojima."" The intense human drama and magnetic world will be on display in a stunning hardcover art book. Designed with Kiryu's ferocious dragon tattoo, two bar glasses (280ml) are the perfect receptacles for your beverage of choice. Cool down your drinks with a pair of heat action branded ice stones. Protect table surfaces with style by placing your glasses on top of two official Tojo Clan branded coasters. All of these essential tools will be housed within a collectible outer box.

In Yakuza 6, Kazuma Kiryu will find out exactly how much people are willing to sacrifice for family - be those ties through blood or bond - when he investigates a series of shadowy events that involve the ones he holds closest to his heart. Fresh out of a three-year prison sentence, an older and weathered Kiryu comes to find out that his surrogate daughter, Haruka, has gone missing from the orphanage he looks after. The trail leads him to his old stomping grounds in Kamurocho, where he discovers that she has been struck by a car and now lies in a coma. To make matters worse, Kiryu learns that Haruka now has a son that he must look after. With baby in hand, Kiryu journeys to the seaside town of Onomichi, Hiroshima to unravel the truth about Haruka, her son, and a sinister secret that the Hiroshima yakuza are harboring.

From the unparalleled realism of the new setting of Onomichi, a beautiful, sleepy port town in Hiroshima Prefecture, to the latest evolution of Kamurocho, the biggest red-light district in Tokyo, Yakuza 6 is the ultimate iteration the game's blend of gritty crime story, hyper-explosive combat, and all the vices and distractions those locales have to offer.

Enter the “Dragon Engine” - Explore the world of Yakuza like never before. Yakuza 6 is the first current-gen Yakuza title that was developed from the ground up for the PS4, introducing the seedy Japanese underworld with detailed visuals, lifelike animations, a new physics engine, interactive storefronts, seamless transitions and more.

Explore Kamurocho Reborn and the Scenic Views of Onomichi - The hypnotic lights, opportunistic inhabitants, and hedonistic distractions of Kamurocho look better than ever. Revamped minigames like karaoke, batting cages, darts, hostesses, and the SEGA arcade have been streamlined for maximum pleasure, and new additions like the RIZAP Gym, Cat Café, and Clan Creator are the purrfect distractions after a long night of bashing heads! But it’s also time to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life to play tourist in beautiful Onomichi. This tranquil coastal community is home to plenty of local activities like bar mingling, spearfishing (think action-packed rail shooter … with fish), and more!

Let the Bodies Hit the Floor - Yakuza 6 Kiryu is a 100% certified thugfed OG, so that means he’s a battle-hardened veteran when it comes to the art of street fighting. Although he utilizes one fighting style this time around, you best believe Kiryu hits like a truck. Devastating combos and bone-breaking Heat Actions make a return, but now the Dragon of Dojima can fill up a meter to engage Extreme Heat Mode. When activated, Kiryu glows blue and unleashes heavy-damage combos with his fists or any “tool” that’s close at hand.

Fully Voiced Japanese Audio - For the first time in series history, every line and piece of dialogue is fully voiced in Japanese. Let the dramatic story and absurd humor of the series unfold like an interactive foreign film experience."

Most "bang for your buck" collectors edition
by Manit Pahuja (5 out of 5 stars)
April 18, 2018

I'm just writing a review for the After Hours premium edition. I have not even touched the game yet but I'm sure it'll be fantastic.

However, I needed to mention how worth your money this edition is, especially if you compare it to other collectors edition, which, for the most part, give you junk and are upwards of $100 or more. This one cost me $76 and I can say, without a doubt, that it gives you the most bang for your buck. There are some practical items in this box, and I just want to go over them. Of course, not everyone will like the items in the box. Your preference will vary.

First, the packaging. It's a sight in itself. The box has a dragon design all over it and, if you get nothing else from this edition, that box is worth keeping on your shelf just for that design. It opens in a elegant way, displaying the contents inside.

I'll start with the coasters. They're solid, though made out of hard cardboard, it seems like. But they're nice size and I feel like they'll be able to take a beating and last.

Next, we have the ice stones, which come in a little black bag. These are amazing quality and have a good weight to them. I've never used ice stones in my life but they will look good to display even if you don't use them in drinks.

Next, the art book. Its not the biggest but it does have nice art in it. Definitely worth looking at.

And finally, we come to what I believe is the best part: the glasses. Now, I was not expecting these glasses to be, one, this big and, two, this detailed and finally, constructed with actual glass. I was thinking they were going to be plastic. No, my friends, these made from actual glass and have a dragon design etched on them. They have a solid weight to them and can be used to drink anything, not just alcohol. I was just absurdly surprised by the quality.

All in all, if you coming everything, this is the most "bang for your buck" collectors edition out there. And it also includes the game, which is $60 in on itself. So you get the extras for $20, which is so, so worth it!

After completing the game I can honestly say.
by Mizu Rinku (3 out of 5 stars)

First and foremost, I LOVE the yakuza series. However, 6 was just lacking in many areas. The new dragon engine does give it better visuals, and gameplay (more to the fact that you actually run from the random encounters now.) And going into buildings is seamless. However that's where our good time ends and the problems begin. If you've play the other games, even the PS2 ones, then you're familiar with the combat. They've changed it in this game. It feels slower, Kiryu feels weaker in both attack and defense, heat mode is a little different, instead of a bar you get heat orbs, which can activate the new extreme heat mode if you have a certain number filled. Extreme heat mode is technically beast mode from 0 and kiwami, but you can attack at a constant rate while in extreme heat mode. there are no carry weapons, just the ones you find on the street. Armors are practically non existant. I found maybe four armor types through my playthrough. And they didn't do much in defense. There are many more bosses and mini bosses, which is a good thing, adds challenge. And the story is probably one of the best in the series. I will not spoil anything storywise for those who have not played it yet. But I can absolutely tell you that it's missing one end game bonus that the rest of the games have. There is no premium adventure mode. So buckle down and 100% the game on your first playthrough, or do it in new game+ mode. There are few mini games. Most notably is the arcade version of puyo puyo and virtua fighter 5 final showdown being playable. Karaoke has also changed up a little too, but it still feels the same as past games. The cabaret club is back and it's still fun to play, and there's a new mini game where you can work out with Rizap. However that game was tedious and kind of boring. The reward wasn't all that worth it either. And one new mini game where you do "live chat" with adult web cam models on a japanese website. Other than that, there's not much to do on your downtime. Money is also incredibally hard to come by in this game, since there is no Coliseum or much of a way to get pawnable items. You have to grind for money in random encounters, but they rarely drop yen unless you upgrade a certain ability. That's about it for the game. But the after hours premium edition comes with some physical goodies as well. Two drink glasses that have some weight to them, a heat cube, two tojo clan coasters. And a gorgeous art book with both fan art and official art. The physical goodies are well worth the asking price alone, but is yakuza 6 a bad game in general? No, it's still a good yakuza experience, but it's lacking from it's predecessors. As a fan who wants to get into the series, I recommend starting with 0 and working your way up to 6.

Love the game and bundle. Can't wait to finish the game :D

I love this bundle, but I enjoy the book more. The pictures, art, it is only for the true fans. The game is awesome even though I am barely chapter 3. The only thing that is difficult is getting use to the gameplay. Yakuza 0 was so easy to understand and self-explanatory. This game there is a lot of different icons on maps such as the "open door" and the "arcade/restaurant. Also, when you are fighting a thug or gang, sometimes you don't notice the "special ability" button you can press since it goes away quickly. Maybe there is an upgrade or I have to be a certain level. Just letting you know, at the beginning of the game your character will be sluggish to fight. It was annoying and quite annoying since the computer is quicker. Don't forget to upgrade your character!

The Legend Never Dies
by Unit543 (5 out of 5 stars)

My first ever review on Amazon was Yakuza 2 many years ago. As a long time fan they made an excellent masterpiece ending in storytelling. For new comers think of it as streets of rage arcade style with a Japanese underworld story. The dragon engine is amazing and wish it was implemented back on ps3. The save anywhere feature should of happened sooner. You walk around with a heart of gold and a fist to destroy anything that tries to change that. Very deep story with twists and turns everywhere.. You will laugh, get mad,get a deeper meaning of life (as I feel all the Yakuzas hold subliminal messages to make you a better person) and possibly shed a tear. You will pummel and destroy your foes with fists of glory satisfying every urge to be the good guy. I can honestly make this review pages long but I will make it short and sweet.

Yakuza 6 is a spectacular finish to Kazumas story and still wish he would be in the following Yakuza 7 when that happens.

Plenty of mini games to kill lots of time in this game

Explore Explore Explore every nook and cranny

Use weapons on the street and heat mode your fist into someones face repeatedly

The collector edition is something I will cherish a long time as we never received any special treatment on prior releases..Bought 2

One of my favorite IP's I wish I would have discovered sooner...
by Amazon Customer (5 out of 5 stars)
November 22, 2018

Yakuza this year, has become one of my favorite IP's this past year, and I'm sad that I never discovered this game sooner. The first one came out 13 years ago, and it totally passed me by. But with the remakes of the first 2, plus the release of Yakuza 0, I'm totally entrenched in this franchise. So to my surprise, there were still After Hours copies left for the Yakuza 6. I know the audience isn't big, but it should be! Great writing, great design, and one of the greatest protagonists in gaming with Kiriyu, that I wish more people knew. This product is cheaper than most "special editions" but for the art book and glasses alone, it's worth the extra $15 I paid. This special edition isn't over the top like some of them out there, I'm looking at you Darksiders 3 HOLY S#%T edition, but it leaves you pretty satisfied with not only one of the most underrated games in 2018, but a few really great items that I'll treasure for quite some time. I'm pouring a cold one for you Kiriyu.

An amazing story surrounded by countless hours of fun
by JoeyOrion (5 out of 5 stars)
May 20, 2018

Where do I start? I have always been a fan of the Yakuza series and have been patiently awaiting this installment. There are so many things to do in this game! Mini games, exploring, side missions, it's all here. The main story is amazing but if you've played the other games in the series, you know to expect a complex tale with twists/turns and shocking reveals.

The combat system is the downfall of the series. It's merely a button masher with flashy finishers. You can get away with using the same repetitive combos throughout the game. While it sounds like a major downfall, it really isn't because the other areas of the game eclipse the simplistic combat system.

I put over 300 hours into this game and it never got old. I cruised through the story in about 26 hours. Once I beat the game, I immediately started it over to play the mini games and side quests, as well as just explore the locations in first person view and feel completely immersed.

I have recommended this experience to everyone I know. Gamers-both hardcore and not. It's a fantastic story that everyone should experience.

Regarding the extras in the premium edition: the art book is beautiful with official art as well as fan art. The glasses are nice quality. The stones kept my Suntory whisky cold and the Tojo clan coasters were a nice touch.

I immediately had to go out and buy some Japanese whiskey so I could properly enjoy my playthrough
by Kaltz who has no restraint (5 out of 5 stars)
July 30, 2018

After I unboxed this set, I immediately had to go out and buy some Japanese whiskey so I could properly enjoy my playthrough. I dilly-dally a lot on mini games and side quests, so I'm still enjoying the world of Yakuza 6 to its fullest. Everything fits neatly in a black box, and the glasses are in a box inside of that with foam packaging to ensure a safe trip to you. The ice stones come off as a little small just in proportion to the glass size, but work perfectly [especially for me who will pour only a small amount at a time, haha].

Treat yourself. Enjoy the final adventure of Kazuma Kiryu to the fullest.

The game itself is so smooth and fun to play
by Andrew Pine (5 out of 5 stars)
June 7, 2018

The game itself is so smooth and fun to play, it's a far cry from, in my opinion, the clunky combat of Yakuza 0 and the Kiwami games.

The glasses are very nice and look amazing, and the coasters, simply put, look super cool when you're sitting around drinking. The symbols on the ice stones aren't as white as the preview image looks, which was disappointing to me, but you can still clearly see them. I don't know the quality of the ice stones, however. When I took them out of the freezer after a day, they lost their cool very quickly in a bit of water and didn't do much cooling.

The Essence of Art, for the most part, is a collection of fan art that I have seen around the likes of Tumblr, and it is only the latter half of the book that is dedicated to character stills from Yakuza 6.

Great game, game play wise I think it's the ...
by Amazon Customer (4 out of 5 stars)
April 24, 2018

Great game, game play wise I think it's the best in the series. Although it should be noted that most side stories are less memorable (IMO) than prior games, and it feels like there are less mini games but you do get the full game of Virtua Fighter 5 and Puyo Puyo that you can play 2 player.

All in all I thought the story was great, how ever I dock 1 star because this really isn't a good finale to Kiryu's story. Like straight up, some of the series best characters are sidelined from the get go and our story unfolds with a cast of brand new (albeit entertaining) characters. The antagonists aren't particularly memorable and the finale kind of just, fizzles out. I really hope they rethink this as being the definite end to Kazuma Kiryu story and give it one more shot so he can go out with a bang.
