Coolest/Best Speaker on the marketby michael clayton (5 out of 5 stars)

This speaker is awesome. Expensive for a Bluetooth speaker? Yes. Worth it? Yes, yes, yes!
If you're comparing the sound quality to an upper level Bose or equivalent Bluetooth speaker then you may be a little disappointed. These speakers aren't water proof and incredibly durable like the Demerbox is though. The treble leaves some to be desired but that is characteristic of water proof rubber speakers. This isn't a dealbreaker at all though. While it isn't the clearest speaker in the world, it makes up for it with punchy bass and solid mids, not to mention it can get super loud. I had a Big Jambox and it gets louder than the big jambox could. When the speaker is turned all the way up it doesn't crackle at all. The sound is perfect all the way up. We used it on a boat while tubing and were able to jam out to good tunes even with the 150hp Mercury revved all the way up.
The added feature of a Bluetooth charging port is absolutely clutch. We easily can jam out all day with the super long battery life and then have the phone charging at the same time inside the speaker while maintaining waterproof status with the plug installed. I threw the speaker in the water with my phone in it and it didn't leak a drop and sounded cool reverberating on the water.
My favorite part beside the killer battery life which will easily last you a week or more on a single charge depending on how many times you charge your phone, is the ease of use. This speaker has 1 button. You turn it on and it links up with your phone instantly. You can control the volume completely from your phone and don't have to worry about turning your phone up and then dealing with another volume on the speaker too. Literally just turn it on and start jamming. Nothing to it.
One last feature I love is the long range Bluetooth. I was jamming in the backyard, went inside to do some stuff and had my phone in my pocket and my friends said it never lost connection at all. I haven't gone to the point where it disconnected yet.
Overall, you have to decide what you're going to use the speaker for. I am on the water and outdoors all the time, fishing, wake boarding, bbqing, etc and this is perfect for that all weather rig. If you plan to use your speaker inside and don't plan to move it then id say go get a bose. If durability and practicality aren't a need then get a bose. If you want to jam out with all your buddies and get sweet sound quality in literally any situation you find yourself in and plan to ever listen to your tunes near water or outside.... get the Demerbox. It's the only speaker I use now and I have a few other ones. Super sound and solid construction (I break everything) make this the one for me. You won't be disappointed.
Simply My Favorite Portable Speaker Ever.

Let's get the Price point out of the way. Yes my feeling is $299 is the right price for this Item. Having said that we are paying for its Unique qualities and performance and ruggedness. Last but not least it's so cool in every way. Musical Performance? Very good. Solid low end well balanced natural sound. When I say Natural I mean I'm not hearing all sorts of artificial equalization like allot of odd shaped Bluetooth Speakers and I own and have tested so many. I'm a musician and an Audiophile who loves the great outdoors. This is perfect for that type of person. It's Smooth and Warm to my ears. Battery? Blows away any speaker in its class. No worries period that you will go powerless for an entire day of use and more. Emergency charge for your phone is a nice touch. Built in Storage is just priceless. Great for cables and whatever is important to you. I purchased a small Otterbox case to put my phone in with cables and Adaptor for Demerbox. Fits quite nicely. I've taken it to play basketball, Frisbee, in The Woods. Water or damage is of very little concern. I'm pleased in all areas I highly reccomend this to all Adventurers. The unique Qualities of this device helps ease the pocket pain. If you have to save it's worth the wait.
Great product that is priced too high.

Lost a star because of price. If this was $199 it would be the greatest thing of all time. At $299 it would be expensive but worth it. At $399 it is really hard to justify. There are great quality BT speakers out there with similar features for WAY less.
Also, would love a way to tell how much battery is left. Can't even tell from your connected phone.
That said, if you have the money and don't mind spending $100 more than it is worth then this is a great product. Everything comes as advertised. So, I am going to try my damn hardest to get my money's worth!
Worth it but priced too high

I ordered this because I like to camp and my current bluetooth speaker doesn't have the battery life I need for a weekend in the wild. I wanted something rugged, had good battery life, and good sound. I have not had a chance to take it camping yet but I have had a chance to run it through some tests here at the house. The speaker I am currently using is a JBL Extreme. I love the JBL, it has awesome sound but it only have about 4 hours of battery at anything over medium volume. Plus it is not as rugged as I would like it to be as I am going down a river in a boat.
The Demer Box advertises 40 hour battery time which I find amazing, If it doesn't live up to that claim I will update my review. The Demer box is tough as advertised. The Pelican case is very strong and is everything I could wish for. I feel confident it could take whatever I throw at it while I am camping. It's range is as advertised also as I was able to get about 100 feet away from it before it started losing signal. It is simple and easy to use. I would like to see a battery indicator but I think that is a common complaint. The sound is good but a little less full than my JBL. It doesn't distort all the way up to my almost full volume. At full volume it does start to distort, especially with heavier rock. It is loud but not as loud as I would have hoped.
All in all I am looking forward to using it for camping. In my initial opinion I am not sure it is worth the price because the sound is not what I would have hoped it would be for that price.
Dont waste your money

Horrible! All the weight is in the top of the box eo if its in the water the speakers are going to be face fown in the water every time. Rendering it useless. Second volume is so horrible. Its pretty bad. Instead i bought a jbl boombix that fliats is water proof and has tremendous volume. This was garbage. I had really high hopes because the build quality looks so great.
It wont die. This is the same color I have also reviewed in black.

This thing is bada** if you want a speaker that is indestructible and lasts forever. This is the one. I charged it fully the day I got it have used it on and off and haven't charged it yet. That was 3 months ago. The only problem I have is that it's not loud enough for the foundry, but most speakers aren't. Don't get me wrong this thing booms like a mother outside the foundry. I still carry it with me every day and use it when I am not on the production floor. I tell the guys it is one very expensive lunchbox, but it was still worth the money. It also has enough area if you are into sticker-bombing energy drink logos and such. I give it a 4/5 because it doesn't quite work for the purpose I had intended it for but I promise it is definitely worth every dime as long as your work environment isn't insanely loud unless you plan to carry it on your shoulders everywhere.
Great toy to have

As advertised. Great sound. Solid battery life. Seems indestructible. Very versitile. Brought it to the beach. Used it in a truck with no radio. Use in my backyard by the pool. Very happy with this made in America fine product.
Edit: After ten months of use I noticed it didn't sound as loud. It turns out one of the speakers was not functioning. I contacted the company through Amazon. They immediately emailed me a UPS return slip and repaired it like new. It was a great experience dealing with them. They checked it all out thoroughly and sent it back to me in no time. I've never encountered such great service like this before. I'm glad I have it back to enjoy. Any time people see and hear this speaker they are blown away and want one too. It is a great well made product. I highly recommend it if you need a portable speaker that has an extremely long battery life. I look forward to the warm weather and using it at the beach and pool againi. I've placed it on a family members motorized scooter brightening their day listening to loud music. It is fantastic.

Well....I was reluctant to spend this kind of dough on a speaker, but bit the proverbial bullet . I needed a speaker that was waterproof , could easily hold my phone and essentials on class 1-3 water as well as recreational. Got it on a friday ,fully charged it, and left for the water . I played it around the campsite for about 4-5 hours friday night , charged my phone and played it for about 5 hours on Saturday until the weather broke . Then, my wife took it on a 4 hour kayak ride while I stayed at camp. My wife came back with 2 leds still lit, about 25% or so. Charged a friends iphone for about 30 minutes , and then played some more music for about 2 hrs. Decided to charge it a little while a friend broke out his guitar. Come Sunday afternoon , i turned it back on for smoked pizzas in the backyard after charging my phone on the 1 hr ride home and its showing 3 leds or, more than 50%. All in all, for a camp/travel speaker , I honestly do not think you can get any better . A 1300 pelican case is 60$, 2 8ohm rubber/waterproof drivers are 20-30$ , a class d bluetooth amp board is 20-40$, good 18650 batteries are a couple of bucks a piece but you really need a good spot welder for electronics to do it correctly (100-200$) . Then , you'll have to make foolproof cuts, wire it ,and make your own custom bass hole. Add it up. Sound , I'll give it 4 stars , loud enough for 15 at camp with no issue , but you'll be able to carry on a conversation so long as your not standing right beside it. No issues with bluetooth connectivity popping , bass is excellent without the bass port plugged in, and still good with it in. Treble is fine as well . Played rock, rap, and country on it . No issues so far . Just wished it was a hair louder , but I like to jam! Battery life, I dont even know how they do it. Their amp board must pull virtually no amps. Storage capacity , 5 stars . Plenty of room for 2 phones , car keys , wallet , and a sandwich.
I attached a little video of the speaker playing with charging cables inside it .
Update: 07/09/2019
Took it to the jobsite with me today as a lunchbox . Never failed , started at 7am with 3 leds lit(I suppose a bit over 50%) and it had two by the time we shutdown for lunch (lunch was at 1230 or so) on full volume . Couldnt hear much when were running skid steer, but the speaker was over 20 ft away and the skidder was right beside us. So, this speaks now fulfilled my wants as a work speaker as well!

Accurate Sound. Long Bluetooth distance

The problem I have with 99% of the portable speakers on the market is that the output is over-processed and inaccurate as they attempt to get more bass and volume than the little speakers can muster. This is especially true for outdoor/waterproof speakers. I would rather have silence than listen to distorted music. The Demerbox, on the other hand, sounds clean and about as accurate as one can expect from a waterproof speaker over bluetooth and it does so from low volume all the way to max. I attribute some of this to the size of the speaker (i.e., larger speaker cones than many and a larger box cavity) but it takes more than that to make good sound and they seem to have gotten it right. It also sounds terrific with the bass port plug installed, just with less bass.
Another issue I have with most bluetooth speakers is lack of connection distance. With my phone in my pocket I typically cannot get more than 20 feet before they start dropping out. It makes them nearly useless for working if I want my phone at my side. If I take my phone out of my pocket they work at longer distance. I haven't fully tested the Demerbox but I was able to get more than 60ft outside with no dropouts with my phone in my pocket and facing away from the speaker. I didn't try further so I do not know the limit. This was a quick test; I have not yet used it while working (bending, turning etc.) and it was clear line of site other than my body being in the way.
This latest version, the DB2 has a battery level indicator on the front, which is apparently something new since the many reviews I read prior to purchasing.
After using it a while, my only complaint, as such, is it is not as loud as I was hoping. I deducted one point for this.
