Not a great camera.

Updated 01/10/2019:

I had received a replacement camera from the manufacturer. The unit is stable. I ran two rounds of test in each recording mode. I got on average 85 minutes in 1080p60, 101 minutes in 1080p30, and 121 minutes in 720p60. I must say that the tech support from GoFish was superb. I have to give it two more stars just for providing painless customer support. I'm still waiting for the availability of the new firmware.

While going through several test cycles, the camera no longer turns on. The Charge light would turn on when I plug in the usb cable, but when switch the camera on there's nothing. No light or anything. Initiate contact with the customer support to see what happens. Rating reduced to 1 star for now.

I wish someone had provided a thorough review before I made this purchase. The price and the annoyances of this camera is not worth my money and time.

Pros: You can deploy the camera, then retrieve the camera and review the footage while you're on the water. Don't have to wait until you get home.

Cons:
1) When the cap is screwed on tight, it gets stuck so tight and has no grip, you can't unscrew the cap without pliers.
2) Every time the camera turns on, it is configured to capture at 1080p60. It does not retain previous settings. Therefore, if you need to capture it at 1080p30 or 720p60, you have to turn on WIFI and use the app to change it. It is a PITA when you are on the water.
3) The angle of the camera is fixed. Depending on the lure or bait you're trolling with, the lure or bait may not be in the view at all. There is no adjustment whatsoever.
4) At 1080p60, I got 27 minutes of recording. At 1080p30, I get 58 minutes of capture. At 720p60, I got 50 mins. Not what they advertised. In comparison, the Water Wolf at 720p30 I got 3hr50min of recording. So, you better hope the fish bites within the first hr of your fishing day.
5) The qualify of the video is only marginally better than the Water Wolf if any, but the cost of GoFish Came is 1/3 more expensive. The video quality is not worth that 1/3 price difference.
6) The camera captures 1 minute videos only. If you have 50 minutes of video, you will have 50 files. Do you know how annoying it is to go through 50 videos to review any interesting find?

Very cool product and ideal just not worth the money (way too expensive). I couldn't get picture I wanted and it wasn't smooth in the water. It was also way to heavy to cast. Very easy to use I returned it but would have kept it if it was 100 or less.

Well unless you intend to use this with heavier equipment and throwing in front of larger lures/swimbaits it really impractical for typical fishing purposes. Having said that I have recorded some cool footage of bass strikes and bottom surveys of fish, just not for everyday use.

GoFish unboxing Fail to meet standards

I just received my GoFish cam 10 minutes ago. I was super excited to take this cam out tomorrow and upon unboxing I noticed the camera is cracked on the cover near the lens. Will be returning this ASAP. It is unfortunately this item's defect was not flagged by quality control

Difficult to set up

The cam shoots awesome video, go pro quality. But its a science project to deploy. You will need a dedicated rod for it, and its a pain to get going. I thought you could see whats going on live through your phone, but it loses singnal at shallow depth. Northern Pike will try to eat the camera, more often than the lure behind it
