Worth the price for the Bluetooth hub and motors alone
by Homeschool Mom (5 out of 5 stars)

The Bluetooth hub and two motors alone cost $100 if bought separately from LEGO, so we thought it was well worth it to buy this set for the same price. The app was good, but was batman specific, so we also bought a bluetooth remote control directly from LEGO (part 88010) for $22 so the HUB and motors can be used without the app as well. My son (age 13) has spent more time building his own remote control creations than playing with the original build.

Pretty awesome new line of Lego

Build:

Comes with a Batman minifig which is slightly different from the original Lego movie minifig.

Extremely detailed and sturdy overall. Small pieces and wheels tend to fall off but easy to replace.

The wires are integrated well and it's easy to access the Bluetooth and battery compartment. It takes 6 AAA batteries which is ridiculous.

The stud shooters are manual so they're fairly useless because you have to go over to the batmobile to launch the studs.

There's not much to play with when you're not using the app. The car can't roll without the motors, so if you're not controlling it with the app/batteries, it just sits there. I guess you could shoot the studs.

App:

The app is free and has two sets of controls. It takes a long time to pair your device sometimes and tends to quit unexpectedly.

This new feature of Lego is definitely its own league. It's super cool and awesome and the recordings of Batman talking are really fun.

The car is extremely maneuverable and speedy.

My son loves batman so auto win. You get the app controlled peices with this set to drive it like a remote controll car through an app which alone is 100$. Was not to hard to put together and works great. Great buy for the money.

Arrived with defective motor; unable to move
by Craig Jackson (1 out of 5 stars)

Bought for my son and after assembly discovered one of the motors did not have enough power to move the car. Lego are known for their exceptional quality so this is a real shock and let down, score of 1 to reflect a defective product but I will update with how the process of replacing the motor goes. Also the app sucks, should include a basic remote of some sort instead of an app that doesn't work well on older phones so I don't have to sacrifice my phone for play time.
