Want to pay too much?

These are glorified bubblegum machine toys that should be .50 cents each. WAY overpriced! Once the fun of the fizz is over all you have is a toy that should cost two for a dollar. Cute, but way overpriced

Super Fun!

My girls (6 and 3) really had fun with these! I love that they come in a 6 pack so that you can play multiple times. There is a colored egg (resembling chalk) that you put in a bowl of water and watch fizz until a plastic container appears. My girls loved watching this. In the container is a toy/creature. There are different species and different versions in the species, so you can collect them all. There is a fun 4 question quiz sheet that my older daughter loved doing (hers was about space facts). Then there's a little card where you fill in things about your creature, like how many eyes he has and so forth. Overall, this was a lot of fun and my kids really enjoyed it. It was interactive and we were able to discuss a lot of additional educational things while doing this. My only complaint are that these are pricey for the little amount of time they took. But I would definitely get them again!

Collectable mystery creatures
by Markia (4 out of 5 stars)

Kiddos will enjoy the mystery of dropping the pods into water and watching them transform to reveal one of the creatures pictured on the box. The pods feel like a slightly smoother bath bomb. The pod color identifies the classification of creature that you will reveal.

I could picture children wanting to collect them to acquire the whole series especially, since some can be gold in color. 4 of our 6 pods were identical (2 sets of 2 identical) upon reveal, which is always possible with random selection. Our pods were labeled series 1 on the box, not sure if you have the choice of series you receive though. Unless you intend to discuss states of matter, physical changes and the like, the only academic component comes in the form of the 4 question multiple choice quiz (answers are printed upside down really tiny across the bottom) that are scientific in nature. My 8 year old enjoyed them. I think that they are competitively priced with other small collectibles. I would advise to use a clear bowl to transform them, so that the stages/changes are easily visible. Each little creatures comes sealed in a plastic container so they are dry and undamaged during the transformation. This will entertain and keep kiddos busy for a little while, and it doesn't require adult supervision ( unless your child is smaller and likes to eat things).

Bath bombs + vending machine surprise balls = fun creatures
by Anuj (4 out of 5 stars)

My daughter is crazy for those little dolls which has a doll with some accessories inside a ball. I biggest detractor for me in those dolls is, there is no learning value and off course the high price.

So I tried these instead since it has a similar surprise unpacking element but with some educational value as well.

You get a surprise fizz ball , a fillable stat sheet and an informational pamplet inside one pack. I opted for the 6-pack which cost me just over $4 each - half the price of the dolls.

The balls are shrink wrapped, this might need some rethinking as it was difficult for my child- and for me to unwrap the ball. Once the wrap is off, you just pop the ball into a bowl of water and it start "reacting"(fizzing) rolling and turving and losing all its mass finally giving way to a vending machine type pod after about a minute. Inside the pod is nestled a "creature".

Now comes the educational value. The child needs to count the various body parts and fills the fact sheet. My daughter has a lot of fun filling this sheet with me and it was very fulfilling experience. The informational pamplet has a lot of good info and the backside of it looks like is a part of a larger puzzle. The creatures are also colorful and attractive. My daughter has spent a lot of time playing with them , which was unexpected , given they are not interactive. I guess its the variety of colors, characters and different kind of body parts that got her hooked on these.

We got lucky with a limited edition character and we also had no repeat characters. All in all, I prefer these over the dolls as it also has a bit of an educational and "research" side to it.

Kids and I enjoyed this.

I tried and tried to upload a video but it just wouldn't work. But what a great little science project to do with the kids! I do wish it would have included additional little cards, or something, with information about how the chemical process works for the kids. Maybe some fun facts too, or a little game they can play with their creatures when they are done. It is shortlived so I think more focus on the chemistry aspect would have been neat, for the parents as well. I did like how the cards had all of the characteristics listed so that kids could "discover" which one they had. But the kids were happy with their little beings. So, for the price, it was a good, and easy setup, easy cleanup experience for us all. These would also make great birthday party favors for the kiddos, especially for a themed one!

So much fun!

We are very big on science in my family (I'm in school for space science and my husband is chemical in the military) so when I found these I was so excited. We bought all three products but as for this one we got six pods (each pod came with a mini poster with a quiz on the back which was great for killing time while they pods dissolved and a small card for categorizing the creatures). Each one took about 5 mins to pop free little less if you stir them. I definitely recommend, we bought it for our 7 year old but we all enjoyed it!

Not worth $29
by chicmommy14 (2 out of 5 stars)

Not worth $29 to buy. Search how to make bath bombs then just get random toys from dollar tree to put inside the bath bombs and enjoy using the Learning Resources beaker set. The only good thing about this is we only got it when it was a part of the Deal of the Day for way less than what they're selling it now.

Fun, but doesn't last long for the money

Product itself is awesome, but for the money it's kinda expensive. It's basically like a bath bomb with a small toy inside. You put the ball in water, it fizzes for a few minutes, and you get your creature out. It is neat that you can identify the creature on the list, but really, after a few minutes the kids are over the little toy inside. It's a fun thing to do, but it's over quickly. It's a cute product though and kids will love it.

Rainy Day Activity
by MamatheFox (4 out of 5 stars)
March 6, 2019

This is the best rainy day/snow day activity for kids. I saved these Creature Reactor Pods for when they weather got bad and I am so glad I had these on hand. My kids and I were getting stir crazy and I knew I needed to spice up our day. I took out the pods and my kids were so excited to watch it fizz and bubble .... then to get a fun new toy from the inside was just the cherry on top. I suggest getting a pack of these and keeping them for when you need a fun inside activity

Frizz Water with Hidden Toy!!
by Mommy_2010 (5 out of 5 stars)
February 26, 2019

My kids love playing with Reactor Pod, you put in a bowl of water and watch fizz until a plastic container appears with the little toy inside. My kid loves looking at frizz water waiting for the surprise toy to pop out, its almost the same concept as bath bomb but I hate it when my daughter wants to take multiple baths just to open bath bombs. A hidden toy is a highland for them and they love collecting them.
