I love this game! I got the game a few days ago and I'm already into it. There is lots of modes featured like one where you can choose a course and play 9 or 18 holes on the course (multiplayer online or on the same console available), a mode where you can be on the PGA Tour, and modes to customize your golfer and build your own courses(there are many more too!). All of the controls were easy to pick up and very reasonable. I love this game and recommend it if you like golf!

Good game but misses on a couple things

I miss the swing meter that was in Tiger Woods Golf, especially on putting. Also, i wish there was more options with improving your swing and strength with upgrades and experience in the game. Only thing you can do is change between 3 club types which improve distance but reduce forgiveness as you move up. Frankly, the money you win is pointless unless you want to change your clothes/look which does not impact your abilities.

took other customer reviews into consideration, but once I got the game, wasn't all impressed, had very few controller setting options, I'm an avid golfer so it didn't seem at all realistic to play (in spite of what others said), I literally took the game to Gamestop and took the hit and bought Rory Mc Ilroy PGA tour and have been satisfied ever since....

If you love Lip outs you will love this game

If you watch a round of PGA golf on TV you will see a lip out now and again. If you play this game, you will see more 2 lip outs for every putt that drops also I find it strange that the game will actually cheat the player. When I say this I mean I have had a putt that lip out and I got frustrated and turned the game off and when I turned it back on, the game automatically replays the last shot and to my amazement the putt drops and does not lip out?????? I have also had this happen on a so called slice that goes in the water (even the meter shows a perfectly straight shot) and then on replay it does not go into the water. I do not know but it seems the game treats the player in a very different way when he is close to winning. It reminds me of the old Tiger Woods games on PS3. When you played Tiger be prepared for more lip outs and shots that just barely miss. I would pass on this game unless you find it for $10

Major Improvement from the first 2 titles

My review:

Major improvements on the shot control mechanics

Graphics seem slightly improved

You can finally fast forward the action when you no longer care to wait to see what the ball is going to do

You can finally choose Front 9 or Back 9 when setting up a match (on previous versions it 18 holes or turn off your xbox)

The PGA partnership is a great addition and the courses are rendered beautifully

This franchise has always look amazing, but the mechanics and limited configurability really made it hard to play - it was severely lacking. This time around, they definitely made a fantastic game! I look forward to seeing what the next version brings.

Way too many issues

Multiplayer is very bad. Often times connection will not work to start a game or fail mid game. Allows players to quit, Servers are terrible! The beginners clubs are all you can use as the pro and master clubs make shots go very erratic. Wind is also unpredictable. sometime a 5 mph wind is noneffective, other times it sends the ball way off target. Caddie assist is useless. It lies as to where your ball is projected to land.

Fun game

As a parent that likes to steal a little time from the kids on the Xbox, this is a pretty good sports game. There are a few changes I would recommend, but it's mostly superficial stuff like changing the appearance more of the golfer, etc. fun game.

Worst Putting game ever - by far

You can master the tee shots and the approach shots, survive the flops and the chip, but the PUTTING part of this game is worse that TERRIBLE. There is no distance control other than the controller sensitivity. Evidently the speed and distance of the putt depends upon the speed and length of club takeaway and the speed and length of the follow through. Is extremely difficult to get a handle on and the training green does little to help. Save your money, buy a real putter and go to your local golf course. At least you will get a few step counts in.

A Great Golf Simulation

This is a fantastic game. Some are disappointed that it only comes with 6 "real courses." Those are TPC- Boston , TPC-Deer Run, TPC- Sawgrass, TPC- Scottsdale, TPC-Summerlin and TPC-Southwind. All are beautifully done. This game also comes with a course designer. Many people have spent countless hours creating a whole hot of courses. All the big names are in there and well done. The graphics are great. This game is a joy. It is also a challenge. I would start of on the easiest difficulty and work your way up. Do practice rounds, just like the pros, before you play for keeps. HB Studios has done a tremendous job and I hope they keep it up!

Best golf game

I think this is the best golf sim. The Golf Club was the best - now you get the stadium course. Graphics seem maybe a little improved, but about the same, but definitely a great game.
