Due to his fragile nature, Carl only ships from Kate Weiser Chocolate's facility Monday - Wednesday.

This item is very overrated and of course another Oprah item that isn't all that. The video gets you excited but my experience wasn't as fun. The marshmallows melted away, the chocolate was way too rich and not worth the $38. I've been disappointed by items on Oprah's list many a times this was my last time.

We melted Carl on Thanksgiving Day. One of the highlights of the day, really!! So much fun watching my little granddaughter as "Carl" melted and turned into great tasting chocolate. We ended up having a little "tea-chocolate" party!! Now my sister-in-law wants one for her daughter and my mother wants to buy one for her great-granddaughter! Packaged like you wouldn't believe... insulated bag was fantastic!!

My Carl arrived today and needles to say I am excited! I had him at a friends house a few weeks ago and he was delicious!! No wonder he's one of Oprah's favorite things. I don't think I can wait until Christmas Eve to melt him down, I may have to order another Carl! Here's to a wonderful new family tradition!! Thank you Kate Weiser Chocolate!

Cute/different as a hostess gift

Yes, it's expensive for 5-8 cups of hot chocolate, but each is made by hand. Ours came packed in what looked like silver pillows. Carl was inside a bag filled with styrofoam peanuts and ice packs. It's fun to watch him melt. If you're used to DD hot chocolate this isn't for you...it's not sweet. 5 Stars is because it arrived sooner than expected, and intact. Oprah usually showcases items you can't get just anywhere, most items are on the pricey side. It was a unique hostess gift and this fit the bill for me

The snowman arrived and instead of a snowman to melt, i got a pile of chocolate powder. I am trying to figure out how to return/get credit, but all i get is item is not returnable.

This appears to be a common problem, so dont waste your money!

I am in LOVE with Carl and I've found a new holiday tradition for the kids to go with Elf on a shelf! Carl is super cute and my kids loved him. They thought it was fun to watch him melt and turn into cocoa. "He's melting like frosty mommy!" The cocoa was also very high quality and delicious. I plan to make it a tradition to order Carl every year now. Also, I ordered six Carl's that were shipped as gifts to different family members and five made it intact and perfect. Sixth one unfortunately didn't hold up to the journey, but the company is replacing. Overall this product is phenomenal and a fun (and delicious) holiday treat!

I was worried after some reviews stated that their snowman came damaged, but I still ordered, and I'm glad I did! I ordered it as a gift and it came as shown-except it didn't have the chocolate circle around the neck, but a thin blue piece that was in the same location-still cute though. I gave a 4, because I haven't tasted it. It did came faster than expected and without damage. I would order again. Perfect gift for any chocolate lover!
