Tough drone with great features...

Recently purchased. So far, so good. This is a tough little drone! In learning how to fly, I've already crashed it into some pretty solid stuff. No biggie, just replace the propellers and back in the air it goes! Really good camera, tons of features that work (GPS mode, Return to Home, Follow me, etc.) You can even program a flight plan with the App and it will fly it perfectly while you just watch. Good flight time (about 15 mins per full battery charge). It's also really fast and super fun to fly! Excellent controller with display. I wish it came with more than one battery, but that's what the internet is for. I haven't tested the waterproof feature yet, but if the YouTube videos are to be believed, I have no worries about it getting wet. This was supposed to be a Christmas gift for my Dad, but I'm either gonna have to keep it or buy myself one instead.

I was an original Kickstarter backer for this product.

I received mine already but it was defective. Many people are having issues with the company (swellpro) and all emails addresses on their website are undeliverable. My issue can be seen in the picture. The controller frequently loses signal from the drone. This occurs even when they are sitting side by side on the ground with nothing around to interfere. It will sometimes last several minutes before it reconnects. Obviously it can't be flown like that. In the picture the controller and the drone are side by side. You can see the red and green lights from the powered up drone. You can also see "RC signal lost" on the controller. While I am still thrilled for this product, at the moment it feels like it was rushed out based on the lateness of fulfilment and the incomplete packages people are receiving. I would wait at least another 6 months to see if they can fix their issues.
