Fun pool toy, but...

This product is a fun pool toy, but it should not be used in open water including rivers, lakes, ocean, etc. First, because it's motorized, most states will require it to be registered if it's used outside of a pool or marked swim area. Second, outside of swim areas, you'll have to have a life jacket and sound making device on board. Third, while it's well constructed for the pool environment, it's not made for open water. It won't handle current and chop very well, so when the batter dies, or a seem fails because of rough water, you'd be stuck in a bad way. Again, cool product, but not for open water.

Delivery was fast, assembly was a extremely easy because everything snaps into place. Very heavy plastic, once i inflated it with air it was very sturdy. I read about it on the People Magazine Blog.

We had one day of warm weather this week and I took it out to the pool, which I had been cleaning for early springtime use for the family.

Within minutes i was zipping around the pool, the dogs didnt know what to make of it.

For uniqueness, fun, great design and a very good quality feel, I give it 5 stars.

I am probably going to order one for my father in law or I wont get a chance to use mine when he visits us at the pool.

I love the principle. We bought two, my son bought another one. First day out we had seam leaks on two different units. We probably had 300 people asking about them while floating in the cove on the lake. I would hope they can make them a little better. Very disappointing to have to repair pin holes. They were handled like babies getting them in and out of the lake. I would buy as a novelty but would not overlook another product if available.

Impressive, but battery compartments allow water to enter

For sure people who come over are impressed. Sadly the battery compartment needs to be reworked. Water gets in easily causing corrosion, battery failure and eventually a shorter life span for the float overall. Hope those who made this float can address that issue. Maybe send those of us with the early model new ones so that we can fully enjoy it for a long time.

This thing is fun! So many times in other floats it was a struggle to get to different spots in the pool where I wanted to go. This takes care of that issue completely. It's easy to steer and quick and easy to put together. It's strong and durable so not too awkward to get in and out of like some floats. Tip: Spray the exposed screw heads with WD-40 so that they don't rust.

Company responded quickly with replacement part and the splashrunner works perfectly. I have to say it is a ton of fun in the pool. Love it!

Product arrived today. Manufacturing defect prevented me from assembling. Sent email to manufacturer - seating their response. Will advise how they handle situation. Disappointed so far to say the least.

Bought this for my kids and got the first chance to use it on Memorial Day. We all had so much fun! My teenage kids ended up sitting on it together and each using one joy stick. Surprisingly it held both of them. I'm thinking about buying a second one so they can play together and race.

The motorized Splash Runner is everything is claims to be. The Material is extremely durable, the motors are very responsive and the speed it just right for our pool. The price tag is high BUT what is included above and beyond the product is the customer service. We bought ours but it was on backorder. It was delivered July 10th and worked exactly how we expected. I took the motors off and the float out of the pool due to a severe storm rolling through New Hampshire. I mistakenly left the lower propeller unit on my deck and my 1 year old lab decided to eat it. I sent an email asking to purchase another lower unit and THEY SENT ME A NEW ONE FOR FREE!! This was clearly my fault and I was willing to pay but they simply replaced the part and sent it out within 24 hours of my email UPS. Amazing product, amazing customer service and a ton of fun. FYI, It takes 12 D batteries (6 per motor)so be sure to add those to your purchase.

Such a cool product! My family spent all weekend in the pool, and the float is yet to run out of battery power. Putting it together only took a few minutes, and to my happy surprise there were no tools needed to assemble it. Both the motors and the float itself were really high quality! So much fun!!

I am very happy with my purchase. The reason I bought it is because I was looking for something unique to show off at my neighborhood pool this year or when I visit my friends. It comes with two separate propeller motors for steering, one for each armrest and are well made of hard plastic and contain the D cell batteries (not included). It is a larger sized raft the shipping box says it weighs over 13 pounds and it seems well made of very good material and was stable after I inflated it. I would really recommend this to others. I did my first unboxing video, I will try to upload to this review as soon as I figure out how to reduce the video file size.
