Too many audio issues
by Amazon Customer (1 out of 5 stars)

Trying to stream from a PS4 Pro to Stream Labs and it's a nightmare. Spent a solid 10 hours trying everything I could to get it to pick up party chat and nothing. Same with XBox One. Desktop streaming works for PS4, and I'm sure it will work for XBox, so this thing is basically useless. Figured maybe I can use it for a DSLR capture card. NOPE. HDCP is blocked and won't let me use my own camera to create my own content. I was so close to loving this thing. Unless someone can provide me answers that don't require two controllers, two headsets, or buying more peripherals, I will just use desktop capture and save myself a boatload of money by returning this.

Does not seem to work with Xbox One X

On both units we received neither one of them weren't able to pass through 4K and we weren't about to get an image on the TV via the pass through. Have to return it again and search for another product. Does not seem to work as advertised. Hope this helps!

I'm having audio trouble with OBS. Two units, no audio passthrough to PC.

The only way to hear what I'm capturing is by plugging in headphones directly to the Ripsaw HD.

On the old Ripsaw you could output the audio to the desktop then capture the desktop audio while also listening through your default device. It required some fiddling about with the connection settings but it worked. It appears the Ripsaw HD has removed this workaround along with any ability to fiddle with video settings at all because the workaround doesn't get you audio any more.

Long story short, no audio pass through even if you output to the desktop. Guess I'll be waiting for someone to figure out a new workaround before this thing will be useful.

I went through troubleshooting multiple times with Razer's customer support. (The customer support is great). Unfortunately nothing seemed to be working. The capture card was detecting audio and outputting the audio through the 3.5mm jack on the front of the device but was not passing the audio through to the PC.

We finally decided to return / replace the unit as defective. Okay. That's a bummer but if it fixes the issue then okay.

I've just set up the replacement Ripsaw HD and it has the exact same problem. No audio is passing through to the PC. Unfortunately, at this point I've decided this is either a design flaw or there are multiple defective units in their stock. I do not recommend this capture card and I'm sorry to have to report it.

Great starting device in the world of streaming.

Razer has been in the streaming business for awhile now. With webcams, microphones, and capture cards. In the past they all felt cheap and easy to break. Now the 2nd rebrand razer ripsaw has some noticeable new features. Feature number one is 4k passthrough. That means you can now utilize that sweet nectar of 4K 60 FPS gaming. One draw back is no HDR support at all. Now I cant ding razer on this because HDR is confusing with all the HDR standards and ways to use it. Number two is microphone and audio plugin with a 3.5 MM Jack. Which can be useful at times when you need to plug in more audio devices for streaming. Now for the streaming and recording apsect. It's very easy to hook up and setup. Plug in your HDMI in and out to your devices and then plug in the USB cable to your pc. That's it. Windows will download all drivers automatically and even ask if you want to download razer synapse software. Once you got all that set up your ready to go with most streaming applications. The device will stream in 1080p and 60 fps no problem. Unfortunately doesn't support 4k recording or streaming at all. You will need to look elsewhere if you want that but no streaming service supports 4k streams anyways. If you want to record 4k 60fps with HDR I recommend to record it off your consoles because it has minimal performance hit. The streaming looks great with one problem. The video looked darker and you cant change the settings. The latency was great and no dropped frames. One issue I did have is low audio coming from HDMI ports. I'm sure this is a driver issue and can be fixed. Only time will tell because razer does cut support really quickly. Would I recommend this product. Yes if your interested in streaming and wanting your display to have 4k 60fps. For the price is being really reasonable compared to other brands.

Perfect for your Xbox one X!!!!!!!!!!! 4K BABY!!!

I tired the El Gato 60 HD i was disappointed how many times it didn't work (you have to unplug and plug everything back at times) I also lost my 4K res while playing so i returned it. Then one of my buddies told me about this capture card and my had i am happy i don't need to spend over $300 to play in 4K. I use this with OBS and it works perfect i am not sure how others are having problems maybe they don't have experience with OBS. That is the only con i have is that if you cant or are fairly new to OBS you might have a ruff time. You can get the hang of it pretty easy with OBS if you have any question you want to ask just swing by my Mixer stream: LooneyFuego

Very good purchase

It is as easy as plug and play... for the most part. What I mean by that is that I could not get this device to be read in xsplit or obs without first installing razer synapse. While not necessarily a "driver" it was still kind of irritating that I had to do that. That's the reason for the 4 stars.

Quality wise I would say it's just as good if not better than the El Gato HD60S. I am not the biggest El Gato fan due to the constant issues I get with it when running FGC tournaments but the quality it delivers is the real deal. This Razer Ripsaw HD delivers what I feel is a much cleaner look in comparison to the HD60S.

It is definitely a very good alternative to any El Gato products (even though it's a rebranded Avermedia product) and I would highly recommend it .

If it worked like intended would be great. Constant issues.

I had to return my first model which crapped out after two months. After three weeks of trials and tests w razer help desks they finally let me send the faulty product back and shipped me a new one. Three weeks later I got it back. Missed almost a whole month of streaming due to shabby product. The new one isn't perfect either. Lots of replugging the device in and out to refresh it, capncard freezes almost once a stream. And the audio has issues through SLOBS that shouldn't be nearly as complicated to fix (although this may be a slobs issue). With that being said my el gato has never given me this much of a headache. Not sure if 4K pass through is worth this amount of hassle.

Barely works
by NYLBgirl (2 out of 5 stars)

I bought this last week to try and do some streaming on twitch after trying to stream directly from my gaming PC wasn't holding up. The card crashes almost every time I use it and in multiple different scenarios.
1. Randomly after about fifteen minutes it will crash.
2. Will crash if I exit or start a different game.
3. If the selected audio source on my gaming PC changes it crashes.

When these crashes happen I can't even just re-activate it in OBS, I have to restart the whole card.

Sometimes when it crashes I have to not only restart my game to get it to work but to restart the laptop I'm using to stream from.

I've contacted Razer support on these problems and when I did the first person handed me off to a Tier 2 support person who sent me an intro email with basic troubleshooting instructions (turn on/off, correct resolution etc.) and I haven't heard from them since I responded a few days ago.

Gets 2 stars because when it worked it looked amazing but the issues that have come along with it are totally not worth it.

I'm pretty fed up so if their support doesn't help I'll probably just return it and buy an Elgato HD60S.

It doesn't work.

This product does not work properly. My sound is registered perfectly in OBS but anytime I change anything the picture drops and it goes to a black screen. The only way I can make the picture come back is to restart my computer and then it will work. I have tried the device on every usb 3.0 port my computer has and have tried with different cables all the way around and I still have the issue. I tried it on an old laptop I have and it worked butter but was still not working. Tried it on my MacBook Pro with a 4gb graphics card and I still couldn't get an image. The product is just junk.

Very easy to use

I purchased this so that I could do some streaming with my Nintendo Switch. I already use other products to stream from my other gaming consoles but since my Switch is not close to my other ones (space issues) I wanted something that I could use with my laptop and this device is quite small but packs a powerful set of features in a small space. I like that it's easier to use than the other product that I use and would probably replace with one of these except it is an internal device in my computer
