who isn't in love with school workby Clay Eavenson (5 out of 5 stars)

If I had known what this would do for my 12 year old son, I would have eagerly paid $100 for it. My son, who isn't in love with school work, first thought this book sounded like it was going to be boring. That was until he read the first couple of pages. Now, we have spent the last three hours solving the codes in the "training" section of the book. He is HOOKED!
He's doing "school work" and doesn't even know it! He's reading, writing, and problem-solving... and he's loving every second of it. On top of that, I am enjoying it and we're doing it together. I cannot thank the author enough!
Loved it!

Bought this for my 8yr old daughter however after this 1st 10 pages were completed I found it tossed to the side. She loves to read and write her own stories so I decided to investigate to see what it was about this book that caused her to lose interest so quickly. As I paged through the book I realized that it required the reader to stop and acquire a lot of additional items while working on this book. This seems a bit distracting at times especially if the child has settled down with a warm drink and their comfy pjs as the book recommends. Seems like they're constantly having to stop and gather additional items to complete each page. This seems more like an activity books vs one for writers. I was hoping to use this during quiet times to keep my daughters interest vs watching TV however ever other minute she was asking me where to find various items that she needed. I appreciate the concept but I think the idea got lost in trying to make it too FUN vs a way for a reader/writer to be EXPRESSIVE!
If your kid wants to be an FBI agent someday- get the book. If not, don't bother

I wish there were pictures of the actual pages/contents of the book. It's basically a work book for kids so if you're looking to get this for a teen or adult- don't. It's very childish (which is fine if you're getting it for a grade schooler). It's like not even a book really. I only scanned it but it just seemed like you were just doing research, dressing up in disguises, taking notes on things you see, etc. I thought it was a book that helped guide you into finishing to write an actual story. The "book" you're finishing is noted as an "Instruction Mannual". I bought this for my mom because she wants to write a book someday but has trouble focusing and starting. This was not the book for that. I will be returning.
Pages thin and pen bleeds through, otherwise great

I haven't gone through the entire book yet (you're instructed to complete each page before moving ahead) but it's close to what I expected. It's meant to spark creativity and a sense of exploration. My only real complaint is that the pages seem a little too thin. The book instructed me to use my favorite pens, which are Pentech Flair pens. They sometimes can be seen a little bit through a thin page but in this book it's more than a little bit and to the point that it's bothersome. Guess I won't be able to use my favorite pens as instructed..
This book can save electronic obsessed children

Purchased this for my cousin and nieces for Christmas (ages 7 - 11). All the adults thumbed through it and fell in love. The kids can't wait to complete it. In a world where kids are obsessed with electronics - this book is a breath of fresh air. I plan on ordering the rest of Keri Smith's work.

Keri Smith's "Finish This Book" looks like another home run. My daughter has not started working on it yet because she is completely engrossed in working on
"Wreck This Journal", however she looked it over thoroughly when it arrived and pronounced it "perfect"!

Bought this for my 12 year-old step-daughter and she seemed very enthused about it. I initially got it because for the most part she enjoys school, and she loves critical thinking and logistical challenges.

I got this for my daughter for her 11th Birthday. She is absolutely loving it, as are all of her friends who have all requested it. I think I will buy a few more for gifts. It is a great book and really inspires the imagination.
