Product Description
With his trademark Rock 'N Roll hair and snakeskin spandex pants, plus a hot rod and a Harley, Lüc Carl fit the part as a bar manager based in New York City's gritty Lower East Side. And life was good for this Omaha, Nebraska, transplant€”a talented drummer who originally moved to the big city to pursue his Rock 'N Roll dreams€”until, suddenly, it wasn't. Fast forward through seven years of working long hours, bingeing on late-night Chinese food, and drinking excessively; life had found Lüc forty pounds overweight and completely out of shape. But when he turned to the "experts" for advice€”reading countless fitness and weight-loss books in the process€”he discovered that they all made the same claim: "You can't drink alcohol if you want to lose weight." Lüc decided to take matters into his own hands to transform his body and his life his way€”a sort of "f*ck you" to all those so-called experts.FulTop Reviews
Great Read! Hilarious and Motivatingby Amazon Customer (5 out of 5 stars)

This book kept me laughing from beginning to end. It was so delightfully motivating at the same time. Before I read it I was barely breaking even on my calories burned and calories drank. Since finishing it(in one day, it's that good), I've signed up for a Spartan sprint and a Tough Mudder and I've been training my a** off. In a few short weeks I've doubled my workouts in time and intensity and I've cut my drinking in half. I'm 38 and in the best shape of my life. Thanks for the inspiration and the straight shooting. Even if you're in great shape already this book is so fun and will keep you laughing.
Not a diet book! It's a lifestyle guide for rockers young and old(er). Great read!!!

This is not a diet book (imo). Very easy to read lifestyle guide for those who like to party like its 1989 but live in a modern day 2016 reality. I love how lüc talks truth about all the crap that Americans eat!! Gmo's processed foods, high fructose corn syrup, aspartame, carbs and sugar. I never heard of lüc until I started rocking hair nation on siriusxm. He seems like a normal working class dude who says it like it is. He makes no excuses. To be honest I didn't really learn a whole lot in this book, but that was never the intention. All he's saying is how he found success in being a healthy rocker!! The same regiment may not work for everyone, but lüc offers many many stories and tips on how and why it works for him and offers a lot of inspiration on how to apply it to your lifestyle. Never heard of a tequila soda until this book, but now that's on my bucket list. Have tequila soda with lüc and say thank you. I would highly recommend this book for anyone who loves booze and rock and looking for a kick in the a** to get off the couch!!! Thank you lüc!
Surprisingly inspirational!

I met Luc about a year ago and when he mentioned his book, I got curious. I really enjoyed reading it and was sad when I got to the end, which is always a sign of a good book. It's very entertaining, funny and surprisingly inspirational! Don't let the title fool you, it's only meant to pique your curiousity. It's just a good story told in his own unique way about growning up in the mid-west, stumbling through life with no direction, moving to NYC and deciding to take matters into his own hands and reshape his body and his life. It's a sort of rags to riches/ loser to winner story. It's also filled with good health, diet and excersise tips, also put into his own words for easier understanding. I highly recommend it!
Don't judge a book by its title!

Ok the title is a little misleading..but I truly loved the book! I read a review in my Runners World magazine and so I had to check it out! SO good! And the thing I loved its that most people can relate to something about his journey (ok maybe not the rock n roll part) but I enjoyed reading the journey from how he grew up, his lifestyle and food issues and the revelation of turning his life around (I loved the honesty of just wanting to be sexy) dont we all? I love that he still can enjoy himself and look amazing and have a healthy lifestyle! And he does offer some really good tips of being able to enjoy a drink or 2 without feeling we just ruined our entire diet, and workout, eating and running tips that helped him. Its not a "how-to" book but thats what I loved about it..he is witty, funny and smart. It's a big life changer when you decide to become healthy, start working out, running etc and I loved how he shared this, the writing is funny, he shares the good and the bad and he still sounds like a real person, not the crazy trainer writers who just give up all alcohol, never dine out, have no social life and never miss a workout! Those are just impossible standards and then you give up! Read this! Its funny, inspiring and entertaining for both men and women. I promise you will get something out of it! I sure did!
Great memoir

I read this book because I enjoy memoirs and it seemed interesting, not exactly for the diet tips. I ended up reading it in one day (I'm a quick reader and read for hours) because it grabbed my attention so much. He's funny, he's real. It's the kind of book that people who have trouble staying motivated on diets should read. Most diet books are "all or nothing" which is why most people don't succeed, but Luc shows you how he still went out with his friends and had fun, all while getting healthy/fit at the same time. If the other diets aren't working for you, do what he did and find a middle that does. He's some one you can relate to when it comes to dieting, working out, and trying to still be social while you do it. I'd recommend this book! It's inspiring to see a party rock n roller get excited about changing his life for the better!
Had ENOUGH of the diet fads, books, infomercials, etc.?

If you are like me, and have had ENOUGH of the diet fads, books, infomercials, etc. where a fitness Goddess /God is the key tag line, then you should consider this book! If the "Cookie Diet" makes you laugh hysterically or the social media posts about losing 50 lbs. in a month because of a body wrap make you shake your head, then you definitely need to purchase `The Drunk Diet'. Lüc Carl is an everyday guy who took a good look at the fads, the scams, and the genetic wonders of the world, then made a decision to change his lifestyle. His opinions are amazingly insightful with just a little bit of deprecation for his former bad habits, topped off with loads of humor that will frequently have the tears rolling while you are nodding in agreement
I'm on my second pass of `The Drunk Diet' because I found Lüc's book to be loaded with gems that I need to further evaluate in order to take a frank look at my own bad habits and lifestyle choices. Case in point: Lüc has worked atypical schedules (like me), and has successfully maintained his lifestyle changes, so that excuse doesn't fly anymore.
If you are easily offended, then this may not be a very good choice for you. If you want to be truly inspired by a neat & unique individual that lays it all out on the bar, then order right now!!

Luc is funny and entertaining and also hits the nail on the head with your body and health. If you hate corporate America and the diet crap, then this is the book. He says in one book what 100 books are trying to say! Just make so much sense! Luc is a great motivational writer in a different cool way. If you do not get how to be in shape after reading this book then there is no hope!
I really enjoyed reading this and he helped me get back in line with health and life!
Thanks Luc!

Luc says it like it is. For 62 years, I've read every "diet" book and have learned quite a bit. I am on a continuous journey to keep my weight down. Luc's book says it the way it needs to be said. Oh yes, he drops the F bomb every other sentence, but after the first few pages, it becomes like any other adjective. His message is an important one. He explains up front that he's not a nutritionist, but his knowledge is spot on. This book is an important read if someone is serious about getting healthy and fit.

I have read a lot of books and was kinda pissed off with all of them giving the same suggestions about how to loose weight and all. I find this book interesting and yes it is witty in its own way.
Something I would like to add in here is that the author has tried to do the same things that others have suggested but in a different and funny way and I liked it. And one does want to follow the footsteps of Luc!
Do remember guys for weight loss is not easy as everyone promise you have to be consistent with your plans and slowly and steadily you can achieve what you have been looking for.
All in all a nice read.

I've been listening to Luc on Sirius since he got hired, dude just makes me laugh. I finally decided to pick this up and am glad I did. His tale is quite good and I hate to say somewhat inspiring. I'm not ready to quit the sauce and buy some $130 kicks but I have to admit he's in my head a little. I've found myself eating a little better, not pounding quite so much liquid courage and do feel better about myself for getting some extra work out time in when I can, especially on a weekend morning following a night out. Hopefully someday I'll run into him in Nashville and can share a running story over a mocktailita or two.
