Wickedly, Dark - Not for Children "Children's Stories"

I'm the first to admit I have a dark and rather wicked sense of humor. Accordingly, this collection of short stories written by a nanny who was obviously not very fond of her job really tickled my funny bone.
These "children" stories are about as far from typical bedtime stories as you can imagine and are hysterical if you can imagine someone actually reading them a child or grandchild.
I suppose this book isn't for everyone. I suppose more people can see the humor in a book like "Go the F to Sleep" (especially hearing Samuel Jackson read it), but for those who can laugh at themselves and the world around them, this is the book for you.
Interesting book

I enjoy dark books, especially when they are aimed towards children, but some (if not most) of the stories are sadder than twisted, one story in particular left me a little confused, took me a while to figure it out, but was not twisted at all. Obviously, none of these stories are actually for children, but if you love dark humor and you want to terrify someone, say a child, then this book is for you. Enjoy.
Awesome.

Great stories. Actually, the stories are brilliant. Awesome editing job too, which makes reading the stories so much more enjoyable.
Definitely not not for the kids

Lots of fun and lots of laughs. Quick read with twisted tales of things not read the children to sleep at bedtime. You won't regret purchasing this book full of really funny stories each one a will make you laugh.
Some funny, some dark, some you should just skip.

I found the first couple of stories to be funny so I thought this was going to be a funny book. Not so much. Some were so-so, some were dreadful, some were not too bad.
While I would not have wanted to spend money on this, I enjoyed it as a free selection. The stories are short and can be read independently so you can read something new when you take a short coffee break.

I wish the production quality was a little higher. I hoped the stories would be macabre and appropriate for my kids, the sample story is. But I found them a little too harsh and not quite appropriate for my parenting preference. Good for older teens and college age as a cool funny book to keep around. That said, it is a nice addition to my collection of weird books.

The stories aren't really bedtime stories for kids (as you could tell when purchasing such an item), but I thought they would at least be funny. I got a couple laughs out of the whole book.
Cute, but not all I thought it would be

I bought this book to use in my ESL class for adults. It was cute and had some funny parts, but It was also written in British English, so some of my students couldn't understand all of it. I thought I would be laughing out loud and have it be a real page turner, but I've had it for a few months and never finished it. I would buy the electronic version, but not the paperback.
So much fun!

I read this in one sitting. The short stories are clever, witty, and sometimes just plain hilarious! A good little book to load to your kindle for those waits at doctor's offices, bus rides, or anywhere you have a few minutes to have a good laugh. Probably not a good book to put in your "nanny" pack lest your employers think you actually hate their children!
