Product Description

Atlas of Prejudice 2 will help you overcome the post-coital tristesse that’s been torturing you since you finished reading the first volume. It will take you to fresh climactic heights, unveiling new fascinating landscapes of human bigotry.

The book offers a unique view on otherwise trivial subjects like the Spanish Reconquista and its incestuous but God-fearing masterminds Isabella and Ferdinand, the transatlantic voyages of a racist xenophobe called Christopher Columbus, the passion for ridiculous hats of an Ottoman sultan, the love affair between Charlemagne and Pope Leo III, and the discovery of America by Scandinavian socialists known as the Vikings.

You will also find out that virtuous men, like Alexander the Great, only commit mistakes when they listen to women; what’s the difference between the author’s grandmother and Amelia Earhart; how many mummies did Europeans eat during the Renaissance; and why unicorns, who love the company of virgins, got extinct in the early 17th Century, never to be seen again.

In the moments when it doesn’t reinvent history, the book offers a stomach-cramping map of horrible European food, a guide for dividing the Old Continent, a prophecy about the aftermath of the coming Blitzjihad, and a world map according to Facebook users.

There should be a class on this stuff in schools all over the world!

Excellent, original and unique book. Well not quite a book, more like a mini-book. But well worth the money. I purchased one on a friend's recommendation and have since given it as a gift 4 TIMES! I have some European background so for me it hits home but its a great read that will bring to the fore many things you thought but could somehow not find the words or thoughts to express. There should be a class on this stuff in schools all over the world!

A very entertaining, comical, and bit sarcastic overview of history. A very enjoyable read. I highly recommend this book!

It is actually making me look up periods of history I am not familiar with!

I was bombing in Internet on maps representing Europe and the world from different perspective I ever had. For me you should have great sense of humour and deep knowledge about the world and the history to generate such creative perspective to the globe. I was so surprised to find that this was created by a country mate of mine.

Have a look and you will understand why people in Europe behave as do :)

I have seldom laughed so hard. Not because it was belittling some nations, but because we can see the fun part in ourselves.

Only has Europe...funny, but would have liked coverage of the world...not just Europe.

I thought Atlas of Prejudice Volume 2 would be like Volume 1 with more maps of the whole world. Granted, Volume 1 had mostly Europe maps, but it also had some of Asia, South America, and the whole world as well. Volume 2 is totally all Europe with no maps of anywhere else. I realize this is done by a European, but still...couldn't you include other countries or continents as well? Was disappointed with this and regret buying it. Note to author: if you're marketing and selling this book to other parts of the world, it would be nice to be more global. Not everybody is interested in only Europe.

Atlas of Prejudice

By Yanko Tsvetkov

A refreshing insight to the perception we have of different countries and their cultures. Seen through the eyes of a writer and artist who's talent comes through in this book. The examination of aspects that we have carried with us for centuries and continues to cause modern disputes, has clearly shown that we need to look at ourselves with more objectivity and maybe a little more humour. A recommended book to have in any collection.

The concept is brilliant & ditto the execution

The concept is brilliant & ditto the execution. Both volumes comprise perhaps the wittiest addition to history/ geography / anthropology / satire in a generation, & many of the jokes on the maps will make you laugh out loud. We can laugh at ourselves as well as each other in the happy, subversive & uncensored world of Mr Tsvetkov. I'm going to be buying these volumes as birthday presents for all my best friends.
