Don't Buy It!by Beauregard Dangerfield (1 out of 5 stars)

This is as bad as it gets when it comes to misrepresenting the contents of a book. It doesn't begin to live up to its title, and shouldn't even be sold on Amazon as providing what the title promises.
Shallow, obvious tips

the tips in this book are shallow and completely obvious to anyone. I'm glad I only paid $3.99 so I didn't waste too much money. I can only assume that the positive reviews are from friends of the author. In any case, I guess I can't trust Amazon reviews or recommendations anymore....
Fake Advertising / Reviews - Low Quality Work / Misleading Title

I was super excited to order the book on seeing the positive rating . The book is a MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT..
Please make sure to avoid all books form the author.
It seems there are a lot of fake reviews on this book I read the whole book and there is only one chapter on 'Witty Banter'.
This author is basically a book factory. He is writing the same material and publishing similar books and using Internet Marketing, Affiliate marketing, fake reviews to sell them to people who rely on good ratings.. To fill up the book,
* Extra spaces were used
* Multiple empty pages
You can visibly sense that the author is just intending to fill up the book and really has run out of things to write about Wit.
A lot of material is generic material which the author has found on the Internet and rehashed it.
An excellent book - but not what it says on the cover

Mr King is certainly a prolific author; and I suspect he is guilty (as charged on some of the other reviews) of recycling similar material in several different books. Nevertheless, this book is an excellent and well-written guide to the art of good conversation; the author has put a lot of thought into the topic, and makes many practical and actionable recommendations - some obvious, others less so. However, this is NOT a guide to the art of witty banter; perhaps two of the eighteen chapters have anything to do with wit or banter. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking to improve their general conversation skills; but not to anyone looking to improve either their wit or their banter.

Not much depth in the content of the book.
Non professional

This book is not professionally done. Looks like something someone wrote out and the went to a printer. The font is annoyingly large. The paragraphs are just spaced, not indented, like someone was writing on their notes app and then made a book out of it. Paragraphs not justified.
As for the content, I think it was more about how to be a good conversationalist by not backing people into corners or making them uncomfortable than about being witty. I was personally looking for a book that would help me write witty banter for my characters, but that was not what this is. This is for people wanting better real life conversations. I will say though, there is one thing in the book said that I try to do now, but never manage to do right, but if I could, I think the people I conversed with would be happier about it.
Perhaps this might help a 12 year old but that is it

I can only assume that fake reviews pumped up the rating. Poorly written, non- informative. Buyer beware! I bought this and deeply regret it.
Good Information on Conversational Skills

'The Art of Witty Banter' by Patrick King is a worthwhile read.
It has several very good tips for improving conversational skills. It is particularly good with the sections on HPM, SBR, and EDR. These are techniques that he uses for keeping conversations going. Another very solid part is the chapter on building a conversational resume.
Although I think that I have some pretty well developed verbal skills, this book provides several ideas that can likely help anyone, except for perhaps someone who is already a professional talk show host.

Did not deliver on its premise. It was more of a book about witty people than actual helpful advice on how to be more witty.

I found this book to be very dry and common sense. I will admit that I am leaving a review without finishing the entire book; I couldn't make it more than halfway through. Unfortunately, I am no more witty than I was before or I'd say something cleaver in this review.
