Bought this for a White Elephant gift exchange and I ended up pissing off my co-workers. This was possibly because I included a ziplock baggie of my cat's fur. The disgusted looks on their faces was worth it. The one who ended up with my gift was rather upset and felt that he/she was entitled to a nice gift. They ended up quitting their job.
Worked like a charm.

I purchased this book as I was tired of people sitting too near me on public transport.
Finally, a use for cat hair.

With the help of tis book, my wife has made all of the Christmas gifts for our friends and family. She has made 4 pairs of socks, 2 scarves, 3 hats, a toaster cozy, slippers, a winter jacket and carpeted the family room. I highly recommend this book to anyone who, like my wife, has 14 shedding cats in their house.

A cute quirky book! Book is of good quality and shipped quickly. Lots of photos. Directions are thorough. No high degree of artistry needed but one must like cats and have cats that like to be groomed to enjoy the full measure of this book. I am still in the material collection stage and have not made a finger puppet yet. No rush. I simply take the segregated colors (yellow tabby in one bag, gray in another, black, clean white from neck or belly) off the cat comb each evening and stow them in a labeled baggie. My kitties love being groomed so it is my pleasure too. I admit to feeling a little silly collecting cat hair (the first sign of crazy cat lady behavior? ha ha) but have enjoyed the directions, pictures, and am looking forward to making the first art. I also envision attaching a small ribbon to the back of the puppet's collar to make a sweet keepsake Christmas ornament of each kitty. I am pleased with the book purchase and looking forward to being crafty.

If cat hair is what you have then this book is what you need. Or if you have a crazy cat loving mother, such as myself, then you buy this for her for her birthday and laugh your arse off at her reaction to opening this as a present. I should have video taped the whole experience but I didn't. Now my mom says she's going to make me some cat hair mittens for Christmas. One can only hope!!
Such a cute idea

I have 3 cats and have already saved fur, whiskers, and nails from them and from my unfortunatelty passed fur baby and this book is great at giving me a sentimental keepsake of all of them.

When I first saw this book, I thought it was a gag but was curious so I ordered it. I was completely and pleasantly surprised. I save my various animals fur when I brush them but have just ziplocked them and set aside as a memento when the sad day comes that you lose them. I've now got some amazing ideas on how to display the hair with love and affection. So amazing. Also so wonderful that the authors' are very clear about their message of keeping the cat's best interest and well-being as the first priority. Wonderfully done

It really only teaches you how to felt cat hair and make finger puppets or little fingers out of it. However, if you do, they're really cute. I made one for my friend for his birthday out of his own cat's hair. I did a little extra embroidery on mine to give it more defined claws, eyes, and face.

Originally bought it as a gag gift for my mom, but the information in is actually useful. Not sure if she is ever going to craft any cat-hair products, but the instructions within could be followed with any animal fur. So if you're interested in learning to do wool felting this book does a pretty good job as explaining how.
Greatest White Elephant Gift Ever!

To be fair, the author is completely sincere in her writing of this book, and it actually is full of lovely photos of the crafts you can make...if you can get over the fact you are really and truly collecting and crafting with cat hair. As an alleged cat lady myself, I thought this would be a funny book for my work White Elephant gift exchange, along with a Ziploc bag sample starter kit of cat hair -collected courtesy of my own cats, natch. Unfortunately, as much as I love cats, I couldn't see myself getting beyond the humor and being true to the book's intent - which is crafting small projects from your cat's hair, including, no kidding- finger puppets- after meticulously collecting and washing said hair. I can't imagine recommending this for the serious reader, but if you are so inclined, the book is full of detailed instructions and helpful tips.
